Super excited about this game. After reading the character descriptions I'm even more convinced it will be FF: Entourage

Noctis = Vince
Ignis = E
Gladious = Johnny Drama
Prompto = Turtle

Lol love entourage. We still need an Ari Gold though.

The game isn’t set in an open world where you can freely go wherever you like. Since there is a main quest, the more you progress, the more places you’ll be able to go.

So is it open world or not?

Is it Assassins creed 1, or Unity; Is it GTA 4, or GTA 5?

In response to “Why did you develop this game for 10 years?” Tabata said it’s not like they decided from the beginning that they were going to develop the game for that long.

It-it's not like we made the game for you. Baka.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I'm very happy they finally confirmed that the hooded guy (seen in the DSK 2008 Versus trailer & E3 2013 trailer) is still in the game and is an enemy not from Nifelheim!

His character role has always been a more mysterious and unknown side to the plot, so its great to hear about him again following the radio silence.

He'll probably be
the mastermind of it all and will be the final boss.

Or he'll be Noct's surprise brother.

It just dawned on me that we'll be getting another 4-disc soundtrack. The last FF I bought a soundtrack for was FFXIII, and it was totally worth it. Have there been any games in recent years that have had a huge soundtrack similar to the FF franchise?

Thinking he's the Laertes to Luna's Ophelia, out to settle an old score between Tenebrae and Lucis by taking out Noctis' Hamlet. Weren't the two nations not exactly friendly before Niflheim started moving in? Assuming it's something related to the crystals.

The Hamlet stuff was really on the nose in the Versus days, makes me think we'll see the characters roughly align with those in the play.

I just hope they can get the combat to feel satisfying, whenever I kill something in Kh it feels satisfying, when i was killing the regular enemies in platinum demo it didn't.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
First M Rated FF¿?¿?

Type 0 was M rated.

If it was still versus, sure, and it looked to be from the earliest trailers. They have said before that being spinoffs gives them more freedom to experiment and try more daring things, whereas with numbered entrees, they have to have certain standards

Whatever the case, Ardyn is just the best and I'm looking forward to seeing him. What an amazing design.

The old guy (Luna's dad, I think) is probably going to be the bad guy that gets killed earlyish in the game. Red haired Axel/Reno clone is probably a henchman or second-in-command to the main villain. Which means we still don't know who the main villain is or what they look like.

Really wouldn't judge the the difficulty of the game based off the platinum demo

Yup, Duscae was harder and the Iron Giant is reasonably difficult for a normal enemy.

That said, I also hope for a hard mode of the bat.

What old guy? Iedolas is the (ex-)Emperor of Niflheim and Verstael is a scientist of Niflheim. Luna is from Accordo. I don't think there's any shared genes there.

Lots of games have multi-CD OSTs, especially (mid-to-high-budget) JRPGs & Japanese games altogether. Games like Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Fire Emblem Awakening & Fates, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade & X, some Trails/Kiseki games etc.

Nah, a 4 CD set basically means over 100 tracks. Not many Japanese games I know have that amount of music and being consistent at the same time. Xenoblade is a good one, both the quality and the quantity are top-notch.

Sorry for the off-topic question but does anyone know why Tabata made that comment about the Abe administration?Is it about abenomics?Do companies like Square pay more taxes because of Abe?Just curious..

Probably just a glimpse of Tabata's own opinion on the direction Abe has taken & is taking Japan into. Doesn't have to have anything to do with SQEX or how big companies like SQEX are treated by Abe & co.

Something that is bothering me, why havent they shown the "Kefka, Sephiroth" of this game yet? Normally villains always get the showcase on trailers/screenshots (especially in FF games).

Because there hasn't been a good villain in FF games since the PS1 days.

Just a jab at Abe administration not being friendly at all compared to Lucis (in Tabata's opinion of course).
Really shouldn't be surprising, considering how reformist he clearly is.

They've spoiled very little of the game's story overall. We've seen several of the villains/antagonists from the game (hooded guy, big armor guy who's in Kingsglaive as well, old emperor, new emperor), one of them will probably turn out to be the "Kefka, Sephiroth of this game" (hooded guy or new emperor would be my guess).

Because there hasn't been a good villain in FF games since the PS1 days.
While the game overall wasn't anything super amazing, Caius was a fun antagonist in FFXIII-2. Far prefer him to (actual) villains of IX & VIII.

FF13-2 is a great RPG. I will defend it till the end of my days.

FF13 is still terrible though.

Of course the one with the British accent is the royal steward lol, couldn't pass up that trope. Don't get how he ended up with that accent if the rest of the cast doesn't have it though. 3 of them raised alongside each other in the same place.

Why is a bundle soley up to Sony?
PS4 is Sony's console, I'd imagine all manufacturing decisions like special versions of their consoles & what is bundled with them have to go through them.

All in all it just sounds like intentionally vague PR speak. They haven't given any official announcements so even if FFXV PS4s and/or FFXV + PS4 bundles are already a done deal with Sony, they still continue speaking cryptically about it not to give any potential announcements away before the planned announcement date, or not to give false hope for people that there will be one when they haven't planned anything.

I like FFXIII-2 too, but it has its issues that prevent it from rising among the classics.
