Xbox UK might have confirmed that Dishonored 2, Battlefield 1, Recore, Gears 4 and Halo Wars 2 are locked in for Microsofts showings

All expected except for Dishonored 2, interesting.

Edit: As others have pointed out, they did have Fallout 4 last year. Makes sense.

That shirt.

I really would love to see a new Banjo. I think Yooka Laylee has the traditional 3D platformer gig covered, so I wouldn't mind seeing Rare take a crack at VR with a new Banjo.

Do think microsoft will announce another Halo spin-off for next year since Halo 6 probably won't come out until 2018? Man, I would love another ODST game, one that focuses on co-op and PvE.

In my dreams, 343 announces that they are helming Perfect Dark 2 (with Rare's top studio heads consulting).

343 is Microsoft's premiere first-person shooter developer - who else would (in-house) be better than 343 to take on Perfect Dark 2?

I'd like to see 343i take on some older MS properties, but I don't think they need a new FPS. They have Halo, and the rest of the market's saturated with yearly 3rd party franchises.

IIRC, Ken Lobb mentioned last year that they talk Perfect Dark a lot and that if brought back it would likely not be a FPS.

3rd person? I would be interested in the direction microsoft would take a new Perfect Dark; would they focus on single player and make a causal multiplayer exp like battlefront since gears and halo fill that hardcore niche or double down on the e-sports?

I think there will be a Halo game next year. It won't be Halo 6, it will be a launch title for Scorpio, and... that's about all I can realistically come up with. Who would make it? Genre? "Halo 5: ODST"-style substantial expansion/graphical update to Halo 5? Who knows, but with the exception of 2013 (XBO launch year) there has been a substantial/retail Halo game every year since 2009.

Could be totally off, but I'd imagine MS would love to have something in the Halo brand to launch with the Scorpio next year.

That would be awesome but I doubt we'll ever see that.

Halo 3 anniversary
Please god

I hate the idea of Halo 3 anniversary. The game is playable on XB1! And it's not a BC game; it's a "port" with its own massive set of achievements in Master Chief Collection.

That would do absolutely nothing for me.

It's a quiet Saturday afternoon... why not make some conference predictions? I'm basing all of this off of rumors, last year's general show format, plus a few small guesses. (holy crap they have a lot to show this year)

Gears of War 4 - Co-op campaign demo, Horde mode tease.
Dead Rising 4 - Announcement trailer, 2017 release window.
Phil Spencer - Summer platform update (Cortana, background music, etc.) and backwards compatibility announcements. (lots of big/fan-favorite titles *available now*)
  • Potential announcements of the "Xbox Stick" and "Xbox Apple TV" that were hinted at last week.
Peter Moore from EA - Quick look at something from Battlefield 1 that wasn’t shown at EA’s conference, announce DLC relationship + beta dates. (first on Xbox One, etc.)
  • Talk about EA Access, announce SW: BF and NFS coming *today* to the Vault, as well as a handful of 360 backwards compatible games coming to the Vault as well, will add more going forward. (SSX, Mass Effect trilogy, BF: BC2
    please
    )
Bethesda - Show off Dishonored 2, as mentioned in that Xbox UK video. Maybe an announcement of Skyrim backwards compatibility? (if they don't announce a remaster on Sunday)
Indies/Small Titles - Updates on Cuphead, Inside, and Below - all given release dates. (
2016!
) News from other ID@XBOX devs/games coming to Xbox (Tacoma, Ashen, etc.) along with new announcements.
  • Indie montage.
  • Maybe a tease of Moon Studios' new game? (new IP)
*every game you see from this point on is a MS Studios published Xbox/Win10 exclusive* (or some other, similarly obnoxious tagline
:p
)

Forza Horizon 3 - Announcement trailer, Australia setting, September release.
Sea of Thieves - Extended trailer/gameplay demo, 2016 release window given. Beta announced for sometime this summer.
  • Teaser for Rare's other new game. Battletoads?
    Banjo?
Halo Wars 2 - Extended trailer/gameplay demo, release date announced. (November?) Beta announced for the summer.
Crackdown 3 - Extended trailer/gameplay demo, full release in early 2017. Announcement of multiplayer beta in August as previously announced. *more at Gamescom*
Recore - Short trailer/gameplay demo, early 2017 release window given. *more at Gamescom*
Scalebound - Short trailer, no release window given other than 2017. *more at Gamescom*
Age of Empires - CG announcement trailer showing the setting, developer, 2017 release. *more at Gamescom*
Phil Spencer - #CreativeChatter. Talks about MS plan for the future of Win10/Xbox as a "platform". Announces that all games going forward and those you saw today will launch day and date on Win10.
  • Xbox Slim announced, $299, release late June/early July.
  • Talk about "what's next" in some capacity. Perhaps they will give Scorpio a public codename so they can talk about it vaguely for the next year? Maybe they will give specifics? Oculus partnership? (I'm not sure how they will address all of this, but I think they will in some form or another.)
One More Thing... (total guesses here) - EITHER New Red Dead, May 2017, RDR BC (or remaster?) *available now* OR Halo spin-off title announced, vague hints at setting/genre/developer, will be take "full advantage of the next generation of Xbox hardware" or however they will talk about the Scorpio. 2017.

/show

I know these aren't exactly predictions, rather a compilation of all the rumors we have so far, but something at least somewhat like this seems possible to me. I'm not creative enough to come up with any wild announcements outside of the things that have already been rumored, haha.

Anything wildly obvious that I'm missing?

That's like two new games. I would expect that they would show more than that.

2-3 new AAA games (excluding annual-sorts like Forzas, and Halos), then 1-2 at Gamescom is usually the par for both Sony and MS.

Age of Empires, Zombie game, and a left of field reveal, will be more than fine if they back it up with good showings of already revealed titles, 3rd party multiplats, and new software features.

It's a bit more than 2, and they just have a lot of ground to cover this year. If you take FH3, DR4, AoE, maybe something from Rare/new title from Moon/out-of-left-field announcement like a new Halo game that puts them at 3-5 new titles, which seems appropriate with such a packed year.

I'm all for new announcements but at this point I'm mostly looking forward to getting release dates and details for games. Remember that they also have Gamescom for new announcements for 2017 and beyond.

I see it as

- Gears 4 campaign to open
- forza horizon 3 announce with trailer. No demo. I'll say late August early September
- Peter Moore: Ea access( BF available now and 360 vault games)
- Battlefield 1 talk and video. No gameplay demo
- Mike Ybarra system talk. Update features and fan favorites for BC( like Skate 3, Red Dead, Lost Oddysey etc)
- Recore gameplay demo
- Sea of Thieves gameplay segment. Beta announced
- Battletoads video after SoT is over. 2017
- Dishonored 2. Not expecting a long segment
- Indie Section( Tacoma, maybe Everspace etc). No Cuphead or Below. They get dates outside of the show and they've already been shown a lot
- Scalebound. Long segment. With new feature of creating your own character. Early 2017
-Crackdown 3 sizzle reel. Beta this summer. 2017 release
- Dead Rising 4 CG trailer announce 2017 release
- Halo Wars 2 gameplay. Beta this summer. Also 343i is continuing Halo 5 content drops for the remainder of the year
- Suprise. Phantom Dust is still alive. Coming in 2017
- Xbox slim talk. Comes bundled with Halo 5, Forza 6 and ROTTR. August
- Xbox stick. Basically full Xbox dashboard with apps. Can stream Windows 10/Xbox games
- 1 more thing game announcement to close it out( maybe Alan Wake 2)

Not at conference
- I think Age of Empire gets announced outside of conference. 2017
- Scorpio
- Undead Labs

This is a great list, but definitely missing more announcements. I think we might even see one or two of their already announced titles go AWOL for E3 (in favour of Gamescom, or, you know, soon) in favour of an announcement or two. (EDIT: Just need to say 'in favour of', once more, for good measure)

If I were to guess which would skip, I'd say Crackdown 3 and/or Sea of Thieves.

As much as I don't want to miss out on Crackdown stuff, I am pretty sure MS will have some stuff to actually announce.

Switched some shifts around at work so I can leave in good time to watch the conference live. I'm crossing my fingers for a blockbuster showing of Gears of War 4 and a few surprises.

One of these is totally getting a "now" beta after the show. Microsoft needs to step up their "now" game.

Crackdown isn't getting a beta but I'm pretty sure multiplayer will be released that day, apparently people have been getting emails about missions calling them agents in crackdown style font etc the past few days, so it must be out soon if they're already building hype and sending emails.

Almost definitive Crackdown will be there. A small group of the public (Xbox MVPs I think) were invited to play it nearly 4 months ago. We were told information would shortly follow. Plus, this email's been in circulation.

It missed E3 last year. It won't miss it again.

Haha, then it'll be Sea of Thieves that doesn't show up.

I dunno, I feel like they have SO many games that are announced, that we've barely seen anything of that one or two will have to be skipped in favour of announcements.

Yep, I dont think theres much you can do to the MCC version of Halo 3 which is fine by itself, maybe a soundtrack remaster?

Yeah, I could see this happening, however I'd actually pick two different games. Reason being that we already know a Crackdown MP beta is coming this summer (so I assume they'll show it off soon/before Gamescom) and there has been a lot of teasing of Sea of Thieves and I expect there to be some sort of beta before that game releases. (Edit: I see the Crackdown stuff was addressed above!)

I personally thought that Scalebound would be bumped to Gamescom, but shinobi commented in another thread (I believe) that it would be there, which is why I threw it on the list. We'll see! Definitely a packed E3 with a lot of potential.

IIRC, Ken Lobb mentioned last year that they talk Perfect Dark a lot and that if brought back it would likely not be a FPS.

Third Person Shooter/Stealth, with tons of gadgets, and a weird story premise with Elvis and the Maians, Skedar, and other weird shit.

You got your "MGS" replacement exclusive to Xbox.

Rare also talked about having a MGS type of game with Joanna Dark's sister...but that project wasn't greenlit. I wouldn't mind it. I've been missing my Splinter Cell type of game (I still think my favorite was Pandora Tomorrow with multiplayer...but I did love Chaos Theory, after that with double agent and stuff, I didn't care as much)
