DC TV Off-Season - Crisis on Infinite Reruns

It's that time of year again, all of the DC Shows are currently on hiatus. And Cornballer reached out to me to do a single uniformed thread for discussion on all the Superflarrow-verse shows.

So let's get started

What's On Air

Arrow (Season 4) - The Emerald Archer did battle with some mystical powers and dealt with romance in the work place.

The Flash (Season 2) - The Flash dealt with another speedster, this one looking to steal his speed for his own. And welcomed a new member to the West household.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1) - They REALLY, REALLY wanted to stop Vandal Savage.

Supergirl (Season 1) - Her biggest battle was making the jump to a new network... aside from that dealt with some evil aliens.

Vixen (Season 2) - She made the jump to live-action for an episode of Arrow, but will be seen next in animated form this season!

We'll follow the rules we established last year. So open spoilers policy, but maybe if gonna talk about a specific show put that up front so someone can skip if they haven't seen it yet.

Also, I'd recommend any new news (such as casting) or Superman coming to Supergirl continue to be it's own thread.

Feel free to talk about non-SuperFlarrow-verse shows as well such as Gotham, iZombie, Lucifer and Preacher but since those aren't connected continuity wise, they will continue to have their own threads in Community.

With that said, kick off the shoes and welcome to your home for the next 3 months or so!

Hi everyone. I moved the Flash and Arrow threads to Community this morning since it's been about two weeks since they finished up. For this Summer during the offseason, I think the most sensible thing to do would be to have a general DC TV / Arrow-verse thread that's used for Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. The rest of the DC TV shows (Gotham and iZombie) stand more on their own, so we can just leave those OTs in Community and make new ones before they premiere in the Fall.

Have fun, and let me know via PM if you have any questions/comments.

PS: Thanks for making the thread, Penguin!

Nice topic, but we'll talk about that title. We can do better, together.

For now, get speculating on DC TV related Injustice 2 inclusions!

Did arrow have any mention of earth-2 laurel or flash finale?

No on both counts. Team Flash said they're not going to tell Team Arrow about Laurel because Team Producers wouldn't want to have to deal with those implications or bring Katie Cassidy back just yet.

sweet, time to catch up on everything. I heard Arrow had a weird finale or something

Nah, boilerplate finale that was weaker than the episodes that it followed. I enjoyed how the last scene was done, but there were definitely some rushed aspects to it. Flash and Gotham's finales felt the same way though, if you ask me. iZombie is the only finale that I can say I thoroughly enjoyed, top to bottom.

And I think because it was a two-parter

I feel like almost all of the finales this year could have done with starting some of their plots in the previous ep because felt like pay-offs were rush to the end.

I'm really curious about new season for CWverse. Despite some stumbles midway and somewhat underwhelming finale Arrow improved in S4 over S3 and I hope it keeps up this trajectory. And I pray the team won't get back together soon. Would be cool to have some time with Oliver going solo, altough to be honest even the team is much better now that Laurel is gone. (I mean in the field).

Flash stumbled heavily in S2, mostly because instead of trying something new it offered a inferior retread of S1. Hopefully they got evil speedsters hidden in plain sight out of their system and we get return to form with fresh material.

LoT ended on pretty high note, but I hope this will be the show that will end up dramatically different from season to season.

And then there's Supergirl. Weak show coasting solely on Kara and Winn's charms and Kat's snark. But I absolutely loved the Flash crossover. Brought so much positive energy (same with Constantine on Arrow), so I hope for more of that.

I think new seasons will be very fun, even if single shows or episodes won't. Because those are four whole days a weel, almost 100 episodes per year. And between episodes a constant stream of promos, hints, comic pages, interviews etc. It seems like it will simply be a very fun experience to take part in as it rolls by week by week.

And for the love of God, with four damn shows air they have no excuse not to squeeze one episode with Constantine somewhere in there. :)

Lucifer had very good finale. Low key and yet felt very satisfing. Plus the biggest "OMG" last scene of all comicbook shows this year :)

Well I can't speak for this as a whole, but have heard rumblings that the writers' room want to go back to multi-arc seasons instead of having the big bad known from episode 1.

Kind of heard talks like that around Legends of Tomorrow already. But I can see arrow going back to the 9-episodes then the main arc after hiatus format.

Their excuse is DC says no.

Where are you hearing said things?

Makes sense for Flash if they want to do Grodd. They can't do him constantly for CG. Also makes sense if he's mind controlling the Little Bad for the first nine.

I know people!

I don't ask them much because know they won't tell me. But heard about this before some of the season finales aired.

Sad that Flashpoint tv version will probably not focus on every tv show on the same universe =(

Those are some ugly costumes ... it is like TVFlashpoint created the Tron World =P

My issue with Batman infusing his Batsuit with kryptonite like that is that no one in the design process remembered that kryptonite causes cancer with prolonged exposure. How often do we think Bruce takes off that suit in this universe?

Wasn't it "NBC said no?" Or is it not up to them anymore?

No, NBC has no say and doesn't care. The no Constantine was from DC.

I know people!

Tell Kreisberg I've got season three covered if he wants to take a break. Mirror Master. The Top. Grodd. Cost effective CG. Compelling romance. Heart. Humor. Spectacle. And more alternate Wells for Tom Cavanagh to play than ever.

I should actually write specs if I'm gonna get cocky huh

Better than than the armor plating galore that was Injustice 1.

Lucifer is the only DC TV show I don't watch. I hated the pilot episode and never watched it beyond that.

EDIT: Oh jeez, those Injustice 2 costumes are ugly as sin. The ones in the first game were a little overdone at times, but I didn't mind it. It differentiated the characters from other takes on them, so I can understand the developer wanting to put their own spin on it. But the ones on that poster look like the fugly Tron-wannabe costumes from that Teen Titans event The Culling. Yuck.

But that was because of Justice League Dark. Which now seems dead and all that will come of it is an animated movie. So what I'm hoping for is that the death of the movie will free up the characters for tv shows.

Flash came close to the 30,000 mark. I wonder if Flash will continue to grow or if it's hit it's peak. Whatever the case I feel confident that legends will grow next season. Seems like it's getting a full season this time and with the inclusion of the justice society hype should be high for it.

I think Flash will grow in a limited fashion, while Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow will greatly profit from launching at the start of the year and the crossovers. I think they and Arrow will hit around 15K next year with an effect because we will be more spread over topics.

STOP SHITTING ON MY MOTHER'S HEADSTONE
I didn't play much of the first one since I'm not great with those types of fighting games, but the possibility of another Injustice excites me for the new story alone.

Yeah, I played through the entire story mode when the game had a free weekend. I enjoyed it.

Has there been any casting call news for the next season of Flash? I know Arrow and Legends stuff is already out there.

I'm going to guess... another speedster is on the loose in Central City... with ties to Barry's... let's say present!

I seriously hope they drop the "rival speedster who acts like a mentor but was really evil along!" plot device for next season. They need to introduce Mirror Master and go all out with the Rogues.

There dont seem to be any casting calls announced for The Flash, maybe they'll start with a couple of smaller enemies.

Subscribing.

I've really fallen off the threads since...

1) I gave up on Arrow
2) I never really got around to Legends
3) I fell behind the last few Supergirl eps

But Flash is still awesome!

Only watched a couple episodes of Supergirl (including the Flash crossover). Will try to follow it more this season.

I just want to see supers and shit being destroyed lol. I think I watched most, if not, all the endings and finishers/supers.

Still installed but I can't force myself to play a NRS game. The gameplay is just, ugh, for me.

I'm in agreement with people who don't want another speedster. We've had two seasons of that already. Bring out more rogues and put lesser known rogues to the spotlight.
