give me the pc version of 8&9 on ps4. I wish I could have all the FF games on my ps4. just an FF machine.
I know, my pc is a ff machine by now...but for me FF belongs on a console..it is unrational, but oh well..

Unless you're a trophy hunter, I don't think this should be a huge priority. I'd rather them focus on an FFXII port to the Vita.

You're right, if it were like a Sony certification thing instead of just a personal resume.

This is vestigial code, not LinkedIn

Trophies aside, having played both version (PS1 and Android/IOS upgrade), this port would be very welcomed.

I downloaded the Android version to do a side by side with Vita, and there are some huge improvements; especially lighting.

I'll buy it if you can speed up battles and full limit/health like FF7.

I've beat all those games so many times and the ability to replay with some cheats breathes new life into it and frankly saves me times.

This one let you speed up the battles, right?

If so, I'd rebuy it on the Vita in a heartbeat. I've never finished the game because it's just so slow.

Same. Exactly the same. Especially since most people love it, I would love to give it a try, as the PSX version feels broken.

Yes, the PC version is Unity.
Also, most ports (used to be) like that - write the game again in a new engine.
most likely they are merely using unity's engine SDK for the new renderer, file I/O and such. The original game scripting is still in its original way.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Even if they port it to the Vita, I could see SE skipping it for the West and releasing it in Japan only.

I could see it going for PS4 only and not Vita for the West. See I Am Setsuna.

Not port begging/whining, but why a random Vita port and not PS4? Especially when the VII PS4 port skipped Vita.

I'm so jealous of all you NA Vita owners who get to enjoy the PS1 version. This will be awesome for everyone in the 50hz PAL ghetto.

How are the backgrounds in this version? I remember seeing screens and seeing some pretty nasty scaling and contrast issues.

Sounds like this was a test-porting or something. Remaster itself is pretty awesome though, looks gorgeous on iPad retina screen.

I'll buy it again in a heartbeat just for the new features and trophy support. $9.99 is not much for a classic.

I would love the nicer versions of FF7-9 on Vita, but this seems unlikely.

However, it's not unprecedented for better versions of a game to be sold on the same platform. PSP played PS1 games and there's still the PSP-makes of Final Fantasy I & II (which really need to be on the NA store) and Tactics: War of the Lions.

Well it would kinda make me angry since I bought the PSclassics digital version a while ago. And I also have the physical version on PS1.

Given they delayed the PC version after announcement, they were clearly okay with delaying platforms so why not just announce Vita if it was coming?

Furthermore, it seems pretty odd to not port it to PS4 at this point if they were wanting to move more into the Sony market with their FF ports.

I was hoping that Final Fantasy VII's release on PS4 would spark all of the PC Final Fantasy's (III-IX) to come over. That would be pretty awesome.

The likely deal is that this is like Ratchet Into the Nexus Vita; plans of a Vita version were clearly in development and it got far enough that a trophy system was integrated for Vita but something prevented full development on the project.

Considering how we have the PS1 Classics versions of VII-IX, it would be odd to have Vita versions of those games. But, if it will be cross-buy/cross-save for VIII and IX, then I can picture it happening.

Either way, very interesting to hear and likely means nothing, but very cool seeing Square Enix continue to show interest in the Vita platform after recent efforts to try and support the platform.
