CD Projekt trademarks "Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" logo (aka standalone Gwent game)

After the successful third chapter of Witcher Saga, with over 10 million copies shipped worldwide, Gwent is becoming a stand-alone game according to a new trademark and logo registered by CD Projekt. The card game included in The Witcher 3 obtained a positive outcome, so much that Polish publisher decided to create a title for it. The trademark was filled with class 9 and 41 (videogames, software, etc.) into the European Union Intellectual Property Office two days ago (June 6th), with what seems to be the official logo. Here are the two logos and trademark.

Wasn't expecting that style of logo. Wouldn't be surprising if this is happening but is NerdLeaks reputable?

Hoping for a one off price. Don't want to get beaten by people just because they spent out the ass for micros.

CDPR, the only dev who can make a game in a game and then make a standalone game of the game in the game and have another game of the year game at hands due to CDPR quality!

Guess i'm in, although is suck at Gwent ingame. ^^

I recently got really invested in Gwent in my new play through, it really is the most important part of the Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3 Goty 2015
The Witcher 3 B&W Goty 2016
Gwent Goty 2017
Cyberpunk Goty 2018

I hope Cyberpunk comes in 2017, actually.

I felt it was kind of enjoyable in TW3, but it got a bit too stale to spin off into it's own game, to be honest.

Wonder how this will do. I hope the game gets a ton more depth somehow.

Excited but balancing issues in this could be a nightmare. Especially if it goes F2P.

I don't think they could clone the cards as is from the game, but we'll see.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
CDPR has to hold an official high stakes real life Gwent tournament that is just like the one with the Witcher 3. I want back stabbings and underhanded dealings while people play each other.

Every match is going to be so fucking broken it's hilarious.

But you know what? I'm so ready to throw hours and hours of productivity under the bus for Gwent.

Mmm, could use some depth. At the same time though if this is a multiplayer game then you're competing against humans not the AI so it could be interesting.

At first I didn't get it.

I then realised I had actually bought TW3 for a card game. And I have no regrets. The quests became a nice little 20 minute distraction between card games.

I've had more fun with Gwent that Hearthstone. It's pretty overwhelming to try to get back into Hearthstone after not playing for so long so I hope with Gwent they keep the simplicity. It's supposed to be a game for everyone from the lowliest merchant to the highest lords.
