Those 2D to 3D models are probably best ones I've seen yet.

The first trailer is probably coming tomorrow, after or during the stream event. The game looks amazing, character design is such an improvement over Sophie, can't believe is the same guys.

I really don't think so at all.

Yes, the character models are looking great, but they are an incremental improvement over their previous games. They already had the best anime-style character models on PS3, and some of the best image quality, really no reason it shouldn't look at least this good when they are targeting more modern hardware.

Is this an eye candy only sort of game or is the story/battle system any good? Asking because the artwork looks great and that one music track is awesome...wondering if the rest of the game(s) is/are like that.

Not digging the two new characters that much, but boy do their 3D models look great. If only Gust could make the environments look as good, too.

Stories tend to be low key with the goal of the protagonist usually something involving becoming a full-fledged alchemist. Gameplay loop centers around a rather simple traditional turn-based RPG battle system and with an emphasis on a more complex alchemy crafting system. The payoff is typically cute interpersonal relation vignettes and crafting some alchemy item which can do insane damage against optional bosses and using them against said bosses.

They're fun.

And clothes gives you exploration benefits... I need to get through this series.

Yuugen and Noco are doing the art, same as Atelier Sophie.

I should probably get back to Totori Plus, I only stopped playing about two years ago and is still on my Vita, should be easy to go back in, right? :D

The 3D models is these games are always fantastic but please please work on your environments, too, they look so plain and boring all the time.

Forgive me for being ignorant on this series, but I'm genuinely interested.

Are they still mainly crafting and resource management games with a little bit of RPG, or are they full blown RPG now with crafting?

Is the time/countdown system still in place?

I really like the art and graphics on these games, but the one I tried forever ago had those two elements which I didn't really care for.

Also, if that stuff is gone, what's a good point for jumping in? I have a PS3/Vita/PS4.

I'd love if they made an actual serious JRPG with these amazing graphics

Iris 1 and Iris 2 looking like this? Dream come true. But these games got super weeb at some point

It is kind of amazing how great their 3D models are BUT when you see them in motion and with those enviroments then all the magic breaks apart.

I still enjoy the games tho (only played the Dusk Trilogy)

The character design isn't my thing, but I think that's the best character model/stylised cell-shading I've ever seen. Goddamn.

Atelier Sophie looks pretty nice on PS4 at 60fps. The environments do leave something to be desired, though.
