Why would Sony want to spend time on something that was at the Microsoft conference when they probably have a ton of offers to take the spot? I can't think of any instance where a major game was at both in the modern cycle of E3. I could be completely wrong though.

I was just thinking about a short trailer not an other live demo
But I don't know, FFXV will also have its own active time event.
The biggest surprise for me would be a new FF7 trailer.
We already know that there won't be a KH3 trailer.

Although it's worth bearing in mind that Microsoft is being aired on TV in the US anyway and considering Sony will likely have FFVIIR, it's perhaps better they show something that's more upcoming and out sooner to perhaps a much larger audience on TV.

It was also a very different time in the industry. FFXV will be in a sizzle reel, but I don't see it getting a major stage presence.

Like I get why SE is doing it, but I agree with you. I just don't this most of their audience takes to that kind of game. I mean look at Type-0, Even MGSV.

And at this point. FFXV has been in the public eye for a while. You know what it is and you know it's coming.

Like I said i know why SE is going it and it kinda makes sense but I feel like by the end of the conference FFXV will be an afterthought for a majority of the Xbox audience.

I don't think so.
The fanbase is not there and the XB1 version will be technically gimped if Episode Duscae and Platinum demo are indications (and they are).
I expect a 80:20 split.

MS looking to have another solid conference this year, if a little unspectacular.

Makes sense though, they seem to be re-establishing the core values of the Xbox brand. The contents of that conference seem very much in line with that. Seriously hyped for HW2.

I'll be very disappointed if Sony's isn't at least as good as that though.
