Interestingly, it was also confirmed Masuda has passed the Director's torch to Ohmori. Previously, Ohmori had a major managing role in XY and directed ORAS. As a reminder, Tajiri directed RGB and GS, and Masuda RS, DP, BW and XY. This is the first time anyone other than those two directs a new-generation game.

Exactly. Xerneas also changed visually when it used a certain move. It's horns would start glowing. Pokédex would count as a alternate form.

That's good, then. Formes should really be saved for revamping old Pokémon, not right out of the gate. They look similar to their regular designs, but I like them!

So Grubbin makes me think it is a Beetle larva. The mention of electricity makes me think how Japanese likes to associate beetles, particularly rhino beetles, with lightning electricity.

Because I really love rhino beetles especially in Japanese fiction, I really hope this is a rhino beetle Pokemon.

I'd say Unfezant has the best name and worst everything else, Talonflame has the best everything else and worst name, and Staraptor is a nice in between.

I thought both Starly and Feltching lines were really good. Can't decide between the two.

The Fletching line is only good in competitive where his hidden ability can actually be put to use, in game he's already faster than everything you'll face so Gale Wings is useless, and his attack stat is so mediocre that you need to use Brave Bird and Flare Blitz to do acceptable damage, but those moves damage him and damaging moves are a major hindrance in game because you'll need to constantly be using potions or running back to the Pokemon centre since you don't get healed after every battle like in PvP.
