Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

EVERYONE should be voiced minus Link. Anything other than that is not good enough. It looked awful. It's not 1998 anymore FFS.

Whatever, I disagree. Or rather, I barely care.

EDIT: let me rephrase it - I'm not saying it's not important, I'm saying it's arguably less important for me than it is for you.

Re: quarter heart damage. It's very possible they toned down damage for the person demoing the game. Happens all the time.

As I posted before, some locations seemed familiar, so I decided to list them in this post:

Temple of Time

Bridge of Eldin

Master Sword Resting Place

We also have...

...a Korok from The Wind Waker. Also adding what user Nairmune posted, which caught my attention too:

All these possible connections keep me paranoid: A sequel to Skyward Sword?! a sequel to Spirit Tracks?!. Is this some sort of timeline mash-up, just like in Dark Souls 3? I'm excited to know!
I mean, the game straight up labels that one area as temple of time when people entered it in the demo

The voice for Zelda(?) is great imo, which makes me hopeful for the rest of the VA, even if it's regulated to important cast members.

Here's another one that didn't appear on the official gameplay snippets from Treehouse Live.

I think that's pretty much the same statue of Hylia from Skyward Sword, only smaller. We didn't see it on Treehouse Live 'cause Bill Trinen never entered the Temple of Time proper, only went around it, climbed a bit and stuff.

I cannot wait to try and 100% this game!

I want to see The Great Deku tree in this game. And where does Zelda fit in I wonder? So much mystery to this game.

The amount of noise you make is shown in a gauge, the more noise you make the more likely things can hear you. There are items that will make you more stealthy.

I really hope this is indicative of the game growing to be very challenging in the area of combat. They demonstrated stealth today, but to me it came across as "see this neat thing you can do?" For some battles (not all) I hope to feel like my chances of surviving a battle will go from low-mid to high due to effective stealth play instead of going from high to... can't lose! lol!

What if this game is in some kind of merged timeline? Bridge of Eldin, Koroks, Pedestal of Time ala LTTP...it could work. The thing throwing me off is the Koroks. They haven't been anywhere outside of the WW timeline.

Of course, it could just be Nintendo saying "whatever."

The music in this trailer combined with the last 30 seconds made me literally tear up. I have so much history with this franchise. What the fuck Nintendo. My expectations were rock bottom and this is all I ever wanted from gaming

The ending title screen with the rustling wind gave me goosebumps.

Most impactful thing in the trailer for me. Damn near got a little dust in my eye there......

That's what I'm impacient about; I need more information!
It would be an interesting approach to the game, IMO.

This game. It looks so beautiful. I'm going to NEED this in my life. LOVED all the gameplay today.

EDIT: I really can't wait to play this. I'm going to spend so much time wandering & exploring. Even with just 3 hearts.

I hope the Wii U and the NX versions release at the same type. I really want to play this game and it's enough for me to buy NX at launch.

Dawns on me that maybe there's neat justification for how all these things can exist together without relying on timeline shenanigans

Much in the way that Wind Waker treated Ocarina as a distant legend in the past to establish the new setting, maybe this game treats all the referenced games as different points in history that have all become blurred as history has passed into legend and the discrepancies have emerged from people's understanding of the events becoming more fractured as Hyrule falls further into ruin and the people become more and more scattered.

Or maybe the Bridge of Eldin was always in Wind Waker's version of Hyrule too and we just never saw it because of obvious reasons.

You don't need to be empathetic towards me.
Looked great, except for weapons breaking so often. I don't see the point in adding this to the game, it's fucking frustrating to deal with in any other game.

Anyone else feel that is maybe like a Zelda greatest hits game? After all, this is supposed to be the ultimate Zelda.

Maybe all of the timelines somehow converge into this game? (this explains all of the different things present in this game from pervious Zelda games)

I think they didn't show the towns because of the same reason. Revealing the towns will reveal that they are also from previous Zelda games.

Maybe it is one of the reasons why they were so eager to release all these HD Zelda games (besides money lol)

That's the Goddess Statue directly from Skyward Sword!

Gone through most of the treehouse video. I had crazy expectations towards this game, and it still manages to impress me. The highlight for me is the part that fire spreads out in the grass field. The physics is insane!

It's about time they outwardly tie all these games together in some way.

I've been thinking that too. It would be wild if they did something like this. Always fun to think about.

My original theory of BoTW being set long after Spirit Tracks would still be great, too!

Is there a super high res version of this out there somewhere?

Wanna use it as a background.

Maybe we can forge the weapon to keep it from breaking? We'll see in time, but there's always weapons from downed enemies. Bow & arrows are definitely the way to go for sneak attacks, etc.

It'll just make it that much more satisfying to get the unbreakable ones in dungeons.
