Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

never left the stone age
The Link sleeping for 100 years and "towns are spoilery" (from Aonuma) makes me believe destroyed hyrule is the present and you can travel to the past hyrule.

I swear if you get a portable Timeshift Crystal, that'd be hot. The puzzle possibilities :O

No bald cap? Lies!
How do the remote controlled bombs work?

Please not gyro controls, I have nightmares of Skyward Sword bomb rolling.

Look all button press controlled. Button to place and button to throw, don't think roll is an option. Then L trigger to detonate or else they'll go off after their timer runs out.

So what are some opinions on the "survival" aspects of this game? Food for hearts, clothes for weather conditions, weapon durability? Great additions or annoying micromanagement?

That or maybe doing certain things in the world
like clearing the major dungeons and fighting big bosses
starts the process of making Hyrule safe enough that people start settling in it again, and you start to see civilization slowly returning to Hyrule throughout the game.

I mentioned this earlier in another thread but I think those towers are super time shifting towers that will restore the land to its former self

Beautiful trailer. The scale and scope of it looks wonderful, kinda reminds me of Xenoblade in that regard. I liked the end of the trailer, showing the master sword... although also because my Wii U turned on to advertise a Wind Waker sale the moment I was finished.

I'm hyped.

The end of the trailer where everything goes silent really sells me on the idea the open world is taking a lot of cues from Shadow of the Colossus.

I was having a really shitty day today and not able to shake off some depression. My first impression was very negative but having watched some more I'm really excited. I actually don't want to know any more until play it. Kind of going on blackout for this.

Love the food for hearts and clothes for weather conditions along with cooking for certain resistances. Not sure how I feel about weapon durability yet, though. I assume it is something we will have to deal with at the beginning of the game but will likely become less of a problem over time (more durable weapons...I can't imagine the master sword will have durability issues, but then again..the logo..). Mind you, I typically hate weapon durability, but there seems to be tons of weapons available so that's why I'm unsure how much I'll care. It seems fairly streamlined.

I got to say I'm pretty happy there aren't any 'input innovations.' Just standard controls with the innovation coming from new gameplay ideas.

Folks, just think, in a few months we'll get the NX reveal and get to see this again on better hardware. Maybe even the next time we get new footage. It keeps getting better and better

Watching the trailer with headphones today, I am really digging the use of Chinese instruments. Sounds like a Chinese flute and an erhu. Gorgeous sound with the orchestra backing. I hope that there's more use of these in the full game.

That's an excellent theory, it could be this game's twist that occurs after the first 3 dungeons. I would have doubted this theory before today, but now I see that Nintendo really wants to put in the effort to make this game a huge masterpiece.

I just realized, we haven't even seen a dungeon yet.

Everything we've seen is the overworld and some shrines.

Imagine how awesome the dungeons are going to be.

Have they said anything about weight management/bag storage limits? That's one of the things that annoyed me immensely in the witcher 3.

There are storage limits (at least for weapons), though you'll be able to upgrade that as you progress. Nothing about weight as far as we know
