Peace is but a memory.

In the wake of the Noble Faction’s occupation of Heimdallr, civil war has broken out across Erebonia. The provincial armies, loyal to the aristocracy and the Four Great Houses, have claimed many of the nation’s great cities in the name of the Noble Alliance. The Imperial Army, called back from the four corners of the Empire, has only just begun sweeping its counterattack.

After Rean managed to escape Trista with Celine and Valimar, he awakens in the mountains near his hometown uncertain what fate befell his friends, who bravely threw themselves in harm’s way to buy him time to flee.

Though the road will not be an easy one, Rean decides to take up his sword again, journeying across Erebonia with his Divine Knight, Valimar, in search of his friends from Class VII and a way to end the conflict before its price becomes far too dear…

***

Trails of Cold Steel II picks up one month after the decisive collision which changed the fate of the entire nation of Erebonia. The speedy, tactical turn-based combat with the newly-developed “ARCUS” system returns with all the bells and whistles players fondly remember together with a new Overdrive mode, new means of transportation both across the land and sky, new allies, new dangers, and a renewed sense of hope as Rean tirelessly works to right the wrongs that have led the country to disarray.

Key features:

A Sequel that Remembers the Past

Clear data from Trails of Cold Steel carries over, granting bonus stats and extra items, while also remembering the many relationships cultivated during earlier times spent at Thors Military Academy to allow for more personalized conversations throughout the story.

The Link System Returns with a new Overdrive Mode

Bonding with allies continues to pay off with the Combat Link System, netting a variety of combat benefits including healing, guarding, and more, while the new Overdrive mode allows linked characters to attack up to three turns in a row for new strategic battle options.

Recruit Allies from Across the Map to Prepare for War

Find and recruit dozens of fellow Thors attendees who are now scattered across the country to gain exclusive shops, goods, training modes, systems, and plenty more of the Trails series’ highly celebrated colorful dialogue.

Take to the Land and Sky in New Modes of Transportation

A personalized airship allows players to swiftly descend upon both familiar and foreign destinations, and travel on land is faster than ever between horseback riding and Angelica’s customizable orbal bike.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II will release for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita sometime this fall.

Whoa, that's so cool. I thought they are just gonna go with the obvious choice and force the players to end up in a relationship with
Alisa
in the second game.

I'm really looking forward to this. I spent 91 hours on the first game and loved each second of it. Fall can't come soon enough.

I just started Trails, so maybe I will finish just in time. I just hope there is plenty of pace between this, Exist Archive and WoFF

Had to quickly scroll past that for spoilers. Still maybe halfway through the first one since I had to restart once I realized I missed a ton of stuff.

Not gonna watch because of spoilers but damn I can't wait for this. Hope it really does come out in September so i can play it asap.

Can't wait for this game, September is gonna be crazy with both Cold Steel 2 and DQVII for me. Probably gonna get both PS3 and Vita version again, had a good time switching between the 2 during Cold Steel 1

Never quite could get into the first. I think I just haven't had the patience for as many RPGs lately. Loved Trails in the Sky and I heard this one is better though, so maybe I can be prepped to play it around release. :)

If they release in September it will still be waiting for you whenever you get around to it.

Sure. But I'd imagine FFXV, DQVII, SMT whatever and others could and would have a negative impact on the sales, and I want Trails games to sell as many copies as possible.

I want to play the Crossbell games some day.

Getting Skies of Arcadia vibes from having the run of your own airship and being able to recruit people across the map to open up new features, shops, etc.

Serious question, can we even get Towa? I tried very hard to end up with her but couldn't and in the end settled with
Emma
.

More like she settles for you.

Haven't done the math but pretty sure Towa requires at least 2 runs to get her Link status with Rean high enough. There's also other prerequisites. Basically just spend time with her at every opportunity.

Yeah, you can but every time you have the option to you need to spend it with her.

You guys just made sure that I'll finish my NG+ run, nice work :)

And yeah,
Emma
is pretty great as well. But I just like Towa more so.
Yes. And it's totally worth it. ;)
Okay, so maybe I do a third run after my NG+.

Man, I really should have went with that bonding perk.

Pretty sure you can get all characters within two runs. You'll just need to reload your save a few times to see their scenes.

I didn't pick up the perk that gives me enough amount of bonding points to spent time with all characters on my NG+ so I don't think I can get all of them in that run :(

You don't have to pick up the perk. The other perks you picked up will let you carry your link levels with characters. You can do 6 characters in one run. If you don't mind reloading and doing the last dungeon over again you can probably get all character trophies during your NG+ run assuming you don't skip bonding events with Towa and Sara.

Thanks, that's great to know. I thought even if I had made sure that my link level with characters carry over, I still would need to see all bonding events of a character in a single run to be able to get them in the end.

Good to see that I was wrong.

No idea how I've missed this thread but glad to see they finally put out the trailer for it...

That said, really was hoping for a release date seems like they are quite close to completion. I don't really care what comes out around the game I'm playing it over FF15 or anything else. I just hope they don't wait to put it out in December to avoid all the big games :(

I'm scared of the day I have children and don't have time for JRPG's anymore. I already struggle with my gaming schedule as it is.

Awesome. Get to spend more time with best girl, Laura.

More seriously, really excited for this game. Will probably be my JRPG of the year.
