[Spoilers] Resident Evil 7 Demo: "There's More, Right?" Edition

All I can think of is there's an internal clock or something running in the demo that will only unlock something after its been 7 days since the demo was out.

I can't even think of obtuse stuff to do anymore cause we already tried everything. Literally.

Those ceiling beams in the glitch room look tailor made for traversing. There's no other reason for them to be designed that way.

Theres a chair up in that ceiling. Same ceiling & chair can be seen in the trailer from a 1st person perspective before family man stomps on your face. That room is meant to be entered, without a doubt. The real question is 'when' are we meant to enter it, not if.

I have a feeling capcom is going to flip a switch in a few days that allows us to find the missing components....

I want to believe that isn't the case

I really think there isn't anything more to this demo and if there is it's probably so difficult to find that it's not even worth trying to find it.

Some exciting changes and features confirmed from developer Quentin Cobb for the upcoming patch.

•Blindfire will receive another change.
•The Pistole Reload Mod will be modified.
•Leaderboards will be fixed.
•A lot of changes are coming to Ranked TDM.

Other things mentioned:
•Classic mode is way too difficult to implement and will probably not happen.
•Matchmaking to match solo players vs. solo players and parties vs. parties.
•A lot of DLC is coming. (Boosters, Mysticals, Maps, Game Modes etc...)
•Blue and Red colors for skins aren't available because of the confusion it causes with enemy and ally recognition.

If none of this is supposed to be in the main game then what's up with the very first trailer from the actual Sony Press Conference that showed the police officer, numerous different locations and fights between the family man? - Is that designed specifically to garner hype? (legitimately asking, I'm new to these kind of things!)

I still think that red door in the hallway leads to the other rooms we saw in the trailer, but can only be opened by a certain sequence.

Third time I've asked about this but no reply. Can anyone confirm this is a real find?

Yes, its real. No, we don't know what any of it means. There is audio playing when the game has all audio levels set to 0. And its incomprehensible. Thats one of the major limit factors right now. We could slow it down & play it backwards to see if anything is said, but I have no idea if anyone has done that yet.

You guys remind me of when all I had to play were PS1 demo discs. I would replay certain demos over and over and over again thinking I could somehow access the rest of the game by trying to circumvent the geometry and shit and trying to do as much as possible before the time limit was up. But alas I could not play the rest of Spyro or Ape Escape because that's all that there was in the demo. Give it up you guys.
You can actually do this with the Crash Bash demo.

Hey guys! I'm going to post in this thread and contribute nothing to the discussion except to belittle you and insult you for having fun with a demo. Welp, I'll leave and not respond to anything you say to this now! /s

Why do the trailers feature a ton of stuff that isn't in the demo, when Capcom themselves have said the trailers were based entirely on the demo's contents and not the main game, though?

Dunno, ask Capcom. Even MGSV and GZ figured stuff that's not in the game. Also if there's something else in the demo, I doubt it will be so much important like the stuff present in the trailer. I mean, if there's so much stuff hidden, well, Kudos to Capcom, they just created the worst "puzzle" game demo ever.

Seeing a lot of really old and thoroughly tested ideas being brought up again. I don't fault people for being excited and posting, but remember to check the first page of the thread if you have questions about what has been done so far.

That said, I think the OP could be better. Are we at the point where a new thread could be started with a better first post of everything we know? I forgot who it was but a few days back somebody posted a really thorough rundown of EVERYTHING and I think that'd make for a great first post.

That is crazy! Well "I miss you" is definitely said.

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
I listened to the phone and got the third message the one with the goodbye, and then I crept down stairs with my back to the wall, and started watching the tape again. After stopping the tape again, I found I could walk around without getting family. And then I went back upstairs to the phone and picked it up and it had a busy signal. Any idea what I should do now?

Anyone else already discovered the busy signal?

I didn't find half the stuff you guys found. I will have to look it up and do that next time.

So I just watched the trailer (missed it during E3 and hopped right into this when I got home from work). In the dragging scene, he has the ghost girl over his shoulder too. What if she's on our side, and she's trying to point us in the right direction?

Nothing you can do at that stage other than get family'd trying to exit through the backdoor. Busy signal is always there after you pick up the phone the first time.

This one?

So after pretty much playing a solid 8 hours a day since it's release (Yey wasted vacation!) I figure I'd do a little write-up for everyone interested and for the masses that every day seem to be suggesting things to help out or possibly solve stuff, despite them already being explored in depth, so let's start:

Ok. Is there anything the baby or the piano does? The piano almost feels like the fuse in regards to its interactivity. If you don't access it at the right time then you've messed it up and lost it forever.

I don't have a ps4 media remote, but if someone has one, when you play the videotape, can you click fast forward or rewind on your ps4 media remote and see if it does anything while in VHS world or the real world?

It also might be a time check for the console's internal clock and date? I'm not sure if someone tried changing the date of the system to June 1st 2017, so I'm just throwing this out there.

Has anybody tried this ?

Also, I'm pissed the confirmation we got was a misinterpretation/mistranslation and that we're back at square one :/

I guess there's nothing more to be found

I guess part of the reason I so badly wanted there to be something to find in this demo is because, honestly, this is a pretty terrible demo without something awesome waiting to be found. It's just walking around a house with admittedly creepy atmosphere for about 10 minutes, plus some cheap jump scares, and it also pretty much has nothing to do with the actual RE7 (at least as far as we know). It's just a really lackluster and strange way to debut the next mainline RE, and as a demo, it fails to do the one thing a demo is supposed to do: give you a demonstration of the game.

We still basically have no idea what RE7 is. It could be an atmospheric FPS for all we know. Without a hidden ending and a trailer for RE7, or something along those lines, this demo just kinda sucks, and it makes me question whether RE7 can really deliver, especially since it apparently launches in just over 7 months, and we've basically seen nothing of it. Oh well. :(

Welcome to the family, son!

Now find the lockpick, get the axe and chop away!
Also start playing with the volumes and see if you find something new.

You probaly won't but it's still fun.

I boot the demo up everyday and try weird stuff to see if anything pops up.

Pete specifically mentions to make sure the volume settings are right and then Amarillo. Maybe they need to be set to the Amarillo area code 806?

I find it interesting that the tape world affects the real world. You can play the tape multiple times but until you find the lock pick and open the draw in the kitchen in the tape world you'll never get the axe in the real world. So it's not even like they're letting you play through the tape world but the things you do are set in stone, for some reason you can edit how the real world appears by doing something in the tape world even if you didn't do it the first time.

Playing this shit with headphones, alone in the dark, at night, is pretty scary lol.. Outloud I have to tell myself "it's just a demo, it's just a demo.."

I tried putting the audio options at 156 respectively because the widescreen VHS playback has those 3 numbers on the screen briefly. By now, we are all trying just about anything lol

I was yelling Lucas into the mic and my dog is looking at me like "you sure that's just weed you're smoking?"

Yeah, this and PT are the ONLY games (demos actually) that make me uneasy wandering my house at night with the lights off.

And it's funny because while playing I'm not really that scared... but when I stop the mind games start.
