Added "to start" in the title because that's what TSSZ titled it as, which makes no sense but just to be on the safe side I guess?

And so, this confirmed my suspicions due to the lack of announcements on this thing.

Now to know where NX falls into because of this.

Anniversary releases were a mistake.

Yeah I'd think it's about Rio 2016, but still, that's a curious appearance if it'd mean anything more than that, ESPECIALLY with said announcement right on the screen!

It's not saying the project starts in 2017, that's like misinterpreting a transliteration.

Roughly 4 years since Lost World, huh. That's really long for a Sonic game to have been in development. Very interested to see what we get.

2. NX-exclusive. Shows CG teaser with platform announcement, says the full showing will be later (likely when Nintendo actually unveils the NX).

Lost world wiiu is a good sonic game.
Not as colors but very close to generation to me

Sonic Lost World was decent but Sega still half assed the deal. The 2014 Olympics game was going to come to Nintendo platforms regardless so that shouldn't have been part of the deal and the great horrible mess of Sonic Boom is greatly to blame Sega forcing Big Red Studio to shift platforms in the middle of development for a platform that didn't natively run the engine in the first place.

Lost World has some flaws but i think there was a great game there. Some kind of playground to try and the new moves would have been nice

As far as the Color Power implementation, with Sonic Colors, its key unique selling point was its Color Powers. We really like Color Powers as a team, and, moving forward, we intend to make the usage of Color Powers as a standard in future Sonic games as long as it makes matches the playability of the game.

That's not the problem.
The problem is that the games mostly sold like horseshit due to it being Wii U exclusive. I really hope that SEGA is actually wising up to this and making the game multi-platform like Unleashed and Generations instead of riding that NX bandwagon.

If this ends up being a damn exclusive on the NX......I guess I'm missing out on yet another Sonic title :l.

Hope they announce the NX handheld soon, as I would only get that. I refuse to get a Nintendo console until they announce its third party support line up. This honestly sucks, as I was hoping to get a PS4 this year for FFXV, Persona 5 and other titles but now, I have to chose between getting one thing or another now.

Guess I should wait until July before I start thinking this, but just going to assume I won't be playing the anniversary game now so I don't get disappointed or angry when its announced.

At least I got Ratchet & Clank to play this fall.

I'm getting an NX anyway because I need to support Nintendo if they stand any chance of saving this industry. So NX exclusive is fine with me.

Mario was just there for Rio Olympics, it's all the Twitter accts were going on about.

After the last deal, NX exclusivity is a pipe dream. SEGA's "Sonic fans are on Nintendo" isn't wrong, but it's also part-PR chatter. And with LW failing to prove, they're almost certainly going to stick with multiplatform.

I hope so, but just assuming its NX exclusive so I don't get upset later. Not excited about the anniversary game at all, so I guess I will be moving that toward Fire & Ice, a game I will be playing this year at the very least :).

I spent maybe 300 hours playing this in Adventure 2 Battle.
I don't think it's going to be Nintendo console exclusive otherwise Sega really think Xbox/PlayStation audience don't buy Sonic games.

I was thinking how odd it was to skip e3 while planning on releasing it this year. It's encouraging that they'd be ok with them skipping the holiday season in order to release a better game
