Just to add, I did not realize that the watch request feature is region-locked.

Yeah, I think actually share play is what I did try (request to watch feature is more complicated to use than it should be), but my friend encountered an error complaining that the game hasn't been released in his region.

Not sure if we're picking this thread back up as the running news thread or if we're using the OT, but via Weekly Diva Station a new promo video for DIVA X HD featuring "Sharing The World" and "Hand in Hand" was released today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7UdgEqnVEk

Additionally, there is a Twitter campaign where a set of promotional items are up for grabs for Twitter users with Japanese mailing addresses.

Well this is unexpected, there are now themes on the 3DS for Senbonzakura, 2D Dream Fever, Happy Synthesizer, and Love Trial (which I don't recognise from any of the Miku games I've played unless it's in Future Tone somewhere).

Kinda disappointed that Sharing the World and Hand in Hand don't seem to come with unique modules. The stages also seem pretty generic.

Love Trial is in Project Diva X.

Oh shoot, that's completely out of the blue! 2D and Love Trial today, the others next week once some of my items sell. Thanks for the heads-up!

They look nice, too. ^^

Edit: Aw man. Europe (and Japan) only. Dang. Hope they come over to the NA store sooner rather than later.

After Googling edit: Actually, maybe our store just hasn't updated yet? Looks like everyone should have them at some point, judging from the articles. I don't mind waiting so long as I know we'll all have them available.

Looking for these now. Haven't found them yet.

The PR only had said Europe and Australia though? At least that was what I had read earlier this week.

And you would be correct. ;-;

I was just reading some random articles, Google wasn't showing many results so I was getting stuff from sites I'd never heard of. Yeah, finally finding the PR it's Europe and Australia only.

Why would people forego the PR. Ugh.

Well, hope it's Worldwide at some point.

Am I the last person here to learn about watching PV's with Off-Vocals? In F, F2nd, and X, you can go to watch a PV, but hold R while loading it. You then get to hear the track without the Vocaloid (for the most part).

Acute sounds really nice Off-Vocal.

Awww I want those to come to NA so bad. I purchased the 2D Dream Fever theme on my JP 3DS and love it so much.

So per Weekly Diva Station there's some sort of live event that will be happening at Akihabara UDX on Saturday. Unusually, they're also going to live stream from it! (It's Friday evening for most of the US - 9 pm EDT to be exact). YouTube link. It seems the live will cover, at minimum, Future Tone, the new VR thing, and some time with Mikudayo and Mikunano.

What are the chances that the localized PS4 version of X will have a separate trophy list from the import Vita version of X just based off past trophy lists?

I don't know for sure, but I'm going to say very low chances because you can import your Japanese save data into the US versions, just like in F 2nd.

F 2nd only had one trophy list that was shared by the US PS3 version, US Vita version, Japan PS3 version and Japan Vita version.

The first F game had a different trophy list for each version, but you couldn't transfer save data between them.

I see. Thanks. That makes deciding to double dip more difficult.

Catching up after being away for the weekend.

Via Weekly Diva Station, a special acrylic stand will be included with (Japanese) preorders of DIVA X HD:

Further, a pack of all the Snow Miku modules will be free between August 25 and September 25 to commemorate the release of DIVA X HD. It includes Snow Miku 2010 through 2015 - seven modules, as 2013 has two variants. There are also details regarding X HD's improved photo studio mode.

I reckon console Diva plays so much better, when the impact of having 200 songs wore off some, I immediately looked forward to Diva X again.

Console Project Diva plays better with the controller, Future Tone plays better with the arcade controller. :p

I dunno - I actually prefer nearly everything about console Diva. The visual cues like the sliding tracks or the connected star notes, the little "tricks" like note "handoffs" and exclusive dual wielding - all the way down to the very beatmaps themselves, which I feel are much better distributed, visually, and mixed in a more satisfying way.

Especially the early songs without so much as a slide note in FT often boil down to just slapping on the same buttons in a rhythm. They're incredibly basic. And when it gets "harder", it doesn't really get that much more intense, rhythmically. It just swaps buttons around a bit and has you hold down more of them in sequence.

But to each their very own, of course. :)

Man, the new controller they're releasing for the PS4 is super expensive. I looked back at how much I paid for my first mini controller, 9000 yen. It doesn't really look much different aside from the touch pad.

Does Project Diva X have any touch pad special features? If not, I might just get a brooks converter and use my old mini controller.

Besides the usual poking Miku's face, not really. But the mini controller will have two big advantages. The Brook converter adds at least 1-2 frames of lag, which can only be adjusted for so much; it will always feel a bit off. The new mini controller also has the layout switch option from the old full size controllers for the first time, so it can be easily used with Future Tone. (Future Tone, while supporting manual remapping in game, ends up being unworkable using a converter because two of the main buttons end up being opposing sides of a d-pad, and the converter can't properly signal pressing both at once.)

Thanks for the insight, I guess I'll just cut the losses by selling my mini controller. From what I've read, the new controller looks like it's ps3 compatible too so I won't be losing much.

Dang man, can I just point out how beautiful the reflection is on the floor in Chaos Medley? Seriously, look at it from 2:15 'til about 2:40. It looks cool the whole time, but in that timeframe it uses pulled out cameras a lot, so you get to see the whole stage reflecting.

I'm easily impressed so maybe this isn't something cool for anyone else, but I paused it to look for a bit haha.

English lyrics for everyone!
running henkaku.

Need someone with Henkaku and Europe Version of PDf to PM me for the Europe version of patch too. I just need one small file.

Managed to dump Project Diva f files. Working on a lyrics translation now. Oh and made a patch to prevent watermarks also.

I need some help with the first technical zone in Diva f for Sadistic Music Factory because I have no idea what i'm doing wrong here

My combo keeps dropping at the first red double note after the x's with a grey good or red cool .I figure my dual inputs in the section right before it are sloppy and it's registering as the wrong button but i've practiced the motion and slowed footage down and can hear 5 notes being hit. I'm pretty sure my inputs here are clean so what else could I be doing wrong if not that?

https://my.mixtape.moe/wopjgl.webm

Edit: Went and did it the hard way
Still don't get it though, there's a similar section at the end of the second tech zone that I have no problem landing

Incoming controller shenanigans tonight.

Turns out I can't get screws/bolts smaller than 6-36 locally at all. The helpful guy at Grainger suggested trying colter pins instead:

I got a CronusMAX Plus in the mail yesterday, took about 2 minutes to set it up so that I could use the DIVA X Mini Controller with the Playstation TV. I can't detect any lag, which I was definitely worried about. Now I can use this bad boy for so many more games! I have F 2nd (and P4D, and IA/VT when it gets here) for Vita so this is great. :-D

Got it by a pretty big margin too.

I sort of miss this chart. It's a lot easier to read. I never got the hang of it, but friends who play a lot of Taiko no Tatsujin had no problem with it since apparently high level Taiko makes you do rapid drumming all the time.

I gave up trying to do it on pad, I just did that on keyboard. lol

Quick note for people in the Philly area or surrounding: the Exton, PA Round1 just opened and it's confirmed Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone is up and running there! It's the first Round1 US location to receive the game outside of California, Texas, and Illinois.
