Just announced at RTX, when Forge: Halo 5 Guardians Edition comes out this Fall on Windows 10, the Xbox One version of Halo 5 will also be updated to add in a file browser.

Also if you are playing on PC they will be linking community Tutorials as well to help you build your maps.

I'm really liking the looks of the controls on PC honestly. I keep trying Forge on Halo 5 but the controls are just too much for me lol

Mmm dat precision. Worked out good for GTAV, will be fun to see it for the Halo sandbox.

Also, even though people are just going to call it forge on pc, Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition is a bad name for a thing.

Holy shit that's awesome. Hopefully it will be out when I get back to my xbox in September, the lack of a proper file browser was the main thing that kept me from spending more time on custom games.

Oh also forgot to mention this has prefabs, so if you make a building you can upload it as a prefab and others can use it.

If they do a halo 6 forge they really should allow for maximum customization on the pc side for making shared content.

Isn't forge on the xbox limited to moving stuff around/changing basic presets where you can't import customs assets/implement gameplay changing mechanics like movement speed and new weapons and such?

Does this include creating files to sort through your downloaded files? If I could sort race tracks with race tracks, infection maps with infection maps, etc. in my own created files I'd love it. I hate everything just being in one huge list.

I cant tell if thats whats going on in the last image.

No idea yet, also that's the file browser though not filtered by anything yet so prefabs and game modes are with maps

I just about had a heart attack of excitement when I saw this and thought, well when the flip did I miss the Halo 5 PC announcement?!?!

And then it slowly dawned on me... it's just forge... :'(

Pretty cool none the less though.

It's Forge and Custom Games. With the LFG feature coming to XBL setting up a match should be no problem.

This is due to the "no old games on UWP" thing Phil talked about. Halo 6 is coming to PC though apparently.

Is that official?! I didn't see a thread on it. I would think that news would be pretty big.

You can share prefabs? That's pretty awesome.

I imagine they're at least considering releasing Halo 6's Forge mode as a stand-alone package as well, so that could be the reason for the naming structure. And putting Forge first helps do away with any possible confusion that might pop up from calling it "Halo 5: Forge" or something like that.
