For those in regions where this game has not released: don't fret. It's not working properly at the moment. Maybe by the time it is available for you, the experience will be working as it should, and you will have a better time with it. Right now it cuts in and out, breaks gym encounters, and even causes items to be wasted when communication with the server is dropped. It is fun while it works, but it works only sometimes. I hope Niantic is able to iron out the wrinkles before Go is a go elsewhere. The experience can be very frustrating for those that have it right now.

It sure is fun listening to all your coworkers talk about the Pokemon they've been catching with their Google accounts...

:(
I'm in the same boat. Every now and then see someone in the office catching Pokemon. And then I just check GAF to see if PTC is back up yet.

Feels bad, man.

At least I caught a powerful Dodrio right before we went down. Should be able to sweep some of these Pinsir gyms.

Is anyone else still not able to log in?? Is the fact that I'm signing in with a Pokemon Trainer Club account instead of a Google account causing my problems? Should I just make a Google account and start over?

My friend and I played down at the beach for a few hours last night, but he has a major issue with his game.

Over 50% of the time his game freezes during the catch animation, and then eventually crashes. Anyone know what's up with this? He has an iPhone 6+. (But so do I, we were in the same place at the same time)

I hate how easily gyms can be taken. You can only leave 1 Pokemon at a gym but anyone can bring six, destroy your Pokemon and take the gym. The most I've seen at a gym was 3 Pokemon and it was soon taken. You should only be able to bring as many Pokemon as the gym has.

I don't understand how the gyms work. I went to a gym, defeated all the Pokemon there and even got the xp and stuff for it but it didn't give me an option to leave any of my Pokemon there? Is that because the gym was already owned by someone on the same team as me?

Trainer Club logins have been down for nearly 25 hours now. Google logins are much more stable, so starting over really depends on how much you did on your Trainer Club account and how much faith you have they will be back up soon.

When i defeated a gym, the gym became empty, i had to reclick on the empty gym and assign a pkmn to t to claim it as mine

Yep. You "train" if it's owned by your team, which allows you to level up the gym (and get exp for yourself). When the gym levels up you can leave an extra Pokemon in defence to make it harder for other teams to capture.

Yeah if the gym is the same team as you, you're only sparring with the pokemon there. That earns you Exp and also raises the prestige of the gym. You can only put pokemon there if there's a free slot. I think there are one slot per gym level, so if it's a level 3 gym there can be 3 pokemon. To raise the gym level you have to raise the prestige points.

Damn, guess I should've assumed this would happen from the start. I didn't make too much progress, just one Pokestop and a few Pidgeys and such, but I'd be more annoyed by losing my username. Bleh, might as ell give it a few more hours before starting over I guess...

I want to meet the group of people that control all of the gyms in town as if they're training to compete in the Pokemon League Championship. Like they're on a serious grind.

Ah that's a shame. So many of the gyms around me are owned by fellow team members and I don't want to go through the trouble of levelling up the gym to leave my Pokemon there. Would rather defeat someone on another team and take theirs instead!

is there a trick to throwing pokeballs? Only just started and you flick your finger but the ball seems to go to the side or over the top of the pokemon. Tips welcomed. Also timing of the green circle.

Batteries the CRISIS!
If a Pokémon has XS (extra small, I suppose?) height or weight, does it have lower stats than a normal or XL Pokémon? Should I just trade in any XS ones that I find?

Actually it's good news! Go to the Shop page and you'll see a shield icon in the top-right corner of the screen. You can press that once every 24 hours to get free Stardust and Pokecoins. You get 500 Stardust and 10 Coins for every Pokemon you currently have defending a gym, up to a max of 10 (so 5000 Stardust and 100 Coins).

If your area is stacked with well defended gyms and you can get your own Pokemon in there defending with them, it's like guaranteed daily bonuses from that shield icon =)

If it's going left or right it's because your swiping left or right =P Swipe straight up when the moving circle is smallest. It'll be colour-coded for difficulty as well (green easy, red hard). The further and faster you swipe the further the ball will be thrown. Tougher Pokemon tend to be further away from you than weaker Pokemon.

TPCi sent me this when I enquired about an ETA

It's focused on Pokémon TCGO though

Hello Trainers!

As you may be aware a little game called Pokémon GO launched this week. Pokémon GO makes use of the shared Pokémon Trainer Club account system, which is used for account creation and log-in verification for Pokémon GO, Pokemon.com, the Pokémon TCG Online, and other Pokémon apps. This is a separate system from the Pokémon TCG Online game servers but is an integral entry point for our game.

While the Pokémon team have prepared for substantial player volume for the launch of Pokémon GO, the actual stampede is quite something. Clearly, Pokémon GO has captured the attention of a wide audience.

This attention is resulting in delays for registration and login via the Pokémon Trainer Club account system, which is why you may experience delays when attempting to login, register, update your account or recover your password.

These issues are a top priority for the Pokémon team to address. While this work is in process, we have updated the Pokémon TCG Online with the following as a thank you for sticking with us through this time:
•Wayback Wednesday event extended 24 hours. It will conclude on Friday, July 8 at 12:00 Noon Pacific Time.

•We have enabled a one-time login bonus for an Uncommon Chest, available for the next 24 hours, ending July 8 at 14:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time.

Our apologies for any inconvenience during this time and our thanks for your understanding and patience.

Yeah, it works fine. There are no bans, just unstable servers.

How did you do it exactly? i tried making an NZ account but it always got stuck on the last page in Itunes (and kept asking me to contact the assistence for more info)

And how would it work if i needed (in the far future) to buy in game stuff for example?

I made sure I was signed out on my phone, then clicked the link in the first post. The phone said it needed to change regions, so I said okay. Then when I tried to download it asked for an address (which I just faked, of course) and payment method (which you can set to none when downloading a free app). Then it worked.

Once down, log back in with your normal account. Ingame stuff will be in your region's currency. Basically it's a global app, just not out globally.

THanks, i figure you're right, it's better for it to work properly than work shit and ruin it for the people who are actually super excited to play it, but inveitably may end up leaving the game because its broken.
