Yo-Kai Watch 3 will easily outsell Busters. This third entry should sell around the same amount that Shin Uchi sold alone, 2.7 million units. The updates the game will have, must have a great impact on its legs, and at Vision'16 we should hear more info about it.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Famitsu charts are here

http://www.famitsu.com/biz/ranking/

Also, I'm rather interested to see what monthly digital sales Famitsu charts will say about Harvest Moon, given how it's possible the 200,000 shipped announcement hinted at around 30k sales through eShop / digital retail cards. I want to see if Famitsu "underestimating" digital Nintendo sales will happen again.

So splatoon will reach 2m by the end of the year with digital huh, funny thing looking back at how ppl were calling it a flop before the game was event out or that persona 5 and FFXV would outsell it right away.

More funny people who called crazy me for said that 2 million was a realistic prediction.

And even when i said 1.5 million was the minimum, when you can see, it really was, even so they still said i was dreaming.

Haha, good times.

I know the series has been declining, but I'm certain Bamco would cancel it outright before releasing a new entry which was at risk of selling 5k first week :p

The initial argument was P5. Not even FFXV ha.

As one of those people who disagreed about 2 million last year with you...yea.

well at least I'm admitting that I underestimated it. I'll take my crow

Dont lump FFXv in this because we all know that the real competition of that one is Pokemon according to all those threads and posts.😋

What fiasco?
I believe he is talking about him (a 50 year old) marrying a 20 year old cosplayer but I dont know why is that a fiasco.

I'm disappointed by Culdcept Revolt's debut. I thought it would've been closer to the 2012 game's debut week, not a 50% drop. While it won't make its sales that much better, I wonder what were its digital sales, though: the game's pre-load gave access to a special demo, containing some early quests and even online multiplayer. While this special demo was available as a MyNintendo reward as well, the demo topped eShop weekly charts when the game became available for pre-load, charting at 4th the following week. Pre-loading games charting that high on Japanese eShop weekly charts doesn't happen that often, if not pretty near the actual game's release (Culdcept's pre-loading became available around 2 months before the release, and that's when it topped weekly charts). Unfortunately, again, I suppose Famitsu won't give us a representation of digital sales as faithful as it should :p

These are the rumors flying around: People say he's living together with another woman before this. Also, most people believe he doesn't want to get married, he's trapped by that girl because she's pregnant.

What kind of hardware numbers are we expecting for PS4 once Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV and PlayStation VR launches this year? Can it reach 4 million by the year's end?

There is a difference between "disagree" and call someone crazy/delusional for a prediction.

You are fine with this.

I talk about OTHERS peoples. ;)

PS4 did 45% (600k) of 2015 sales (1330k) till week 27 of 2015. So if we apply same ratio it will do 850k more till the end of the year. Although Sony has a better line up this year but Sony platform donot get a boast in Japan during holiday season like Nintendo's consoles get. So I believe probability of not getting to 4m is more then the probability of getting it.

Splatoon will never die.

It sold worse than Xillia 2 which itself sold much worse than the first Xillia.

And Xillia 2 failed to meet sales expectations. Bandai Namco has been doing a poor job with the series since Graces and are feeling the effect.

So splatoon will reach 2m by the end of the year with digital huh, funny thing looking back at how ppl were calling it a flop before the game was event out or that persona 5 and FFXV would outsell it right away.

Since "people" has become a populous term when someone wants to make a point 1-2 posters claiming Persona 5 would outsell Splatoon doesn't make them an undetermined group of people or that being a widespread opinion. Everyone (with mind) saw Splatoon would be big after first weeks on market.

Why not release it when the work is already done. It released on the ps4 in the West last year.

It didn't do well on PS4 in the west either though. The point still sort of stands that in hindsight this port probably wasn't worth bothering with.

You really don't know that (the only known sales are a month of NPD if I remember right) and you're probably overstimating the cost of the port. Cost that is shared with the PC version too, that we know it sold around 170k. And both will keep selling in future sales, as every tales game before.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 is released this Saturday, and things are becoming bigger each day. From Shinjuku Station promotion to big advertisements inside the stores.

Splatoon continues growing. Yesterday was the release of the new CD of the Squid Sisters from Splatoon Live in Makuhari. It was such a big release on various music stores. TSUTAYA, HMV and of course, Tower Records.

On pre-orders, the Splatoon Water Gun still rocks. Splatoon omocha is having also big presence. Ys VIII had also a stand for reservations. Yesterday, the new Gundam game was opened to pre-orders as well, and it was very popular.

Also, remember that in June there was the eshop 5 year anniversary campaign that a lot of games were 50-60% off. If their estimates are accurate, some games should show in the chart. Maybe L~A can share the rankings of the promotion week.

Also, Famitsu should post the first half of 2016 Top 100 ranking soon. Maybe the last week of July.

Famitsu retail + digital
[PS4] Battlefield 4: 238.672
[PS4] Battlefield 4: Premium Edition: 5.823
[PS4] Battlefield 4: Premium Edition [EA Best Hits]: 5.233

All: 249.728

This a rare case when a game has sold more digital than retail.

[PS4] Battlefield: Hardline: 131.525
[PS4] Battlefield: Hardline [EA Best Hits]: 61.972

All: 193.497

This too. Battlefield games sell well over time, so on retail both should be higher.

[PS4] Overwatch: 144.914

Witcher 3 sold 167k, this is 20k away and still selling at a good pace, should sell more than 200k.

[PS4] Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and Prophecy's End: 306.677
[PSV] Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and Prophecy's End: 223.163

PS4 version is 50k below the original. Drop from the original is mainly due to the PS3 version.

Based on what we know it bombed in the west. Sales probably wouldn't have been drastically different at retail had it been PS3 only tbh.

I'm not saying the PS4 port lost money or wasn't super cheap thanks to Steam carrying it. But if that's all we need to rationalize a PS4 version then we should probably see more Japanese publishers pumping out Xbox One ports too.

I'm just saying it's a question based the data we do have. Which isn't nothing and is pretty discouraging.

It's better than just assuming the sales we don't have are fine, which is what you seem to be implying.

The data exist and Zestiria didn't bomb in the west, it's above 200k PS3+PS4 combined (with the PS4 sku taking more than 80% of the sales) and sold more copies than Xillia 2 despite the Steam version existing for the former.

Numbers are NPD+GFK

Also the japanese version is only a budget rerelease, instead of doing it on the same platform the same way they did for every single Tales (even multiple time for most) they just did it with the PS4 upport which just... was there for them to release and I can't see any problem with that.

Battlefield 4 pretty much doubled its LTD in two months with digital discounts. I wonder why we don't see similar sales more often in Japanese PSN.
