KINGSGLAIVE: Final Fantasy XV Thread: Everything for the future king

There was a making of special for the movie that aired in Japan. Early on they staged scenes using models from the game.
Then that could presumably be Stella? That outfit looks really bad. Not sure if it matches the collared look she had at E3 2013. Are there any other screens of her?

It's not even playing where I live, so I'm really not concerned about theatrical numbers when it's obvious they don't give a shit.

Hyped to see it, but they're not trying to sell it to anyone as anything more than an add-on to the game.

The guy wearing black looks suspiciously like Shadow from FFVI. He was a character concept designed by Tetsuya Nomura. Why do I feel like a remake of FFVI is in the works?

Where is this scene from? Kingsglaive? And who is the guy wearing black protecting her?

I think it's just Nyx or someone else from Kingsglaive with their hood on.

Horrible comparison. Both of the movies you cited weren't announced 3 months before their release and had decent marketing campaigns around them. Kingsglaive on the other hand (or rather, its theatrical release) is likely in it of itself a marketing expense for Square Enix to raise awareness for the game.

Pretty much.. Some companies blow tens of millions to print and web ads, SE decided to do that and produce a 2 hour long movie that may directly pay for itself, unlike the other ad formats never could. We'll see if it pays out when FFXV releases.

Actually, that's the dress she wore during the party scene back when Stella was still in the game. Designed by Roen, by the way. The Versus team changed the dress from black to white to increase the contrast between Stella and Noctis, but yeah.

Man, the colour change does not do it favours here. It looked much better in the party scene, though. Don't know why Stella needed so many design revisions, either.

Luna definitely has a better design to me compared to the last version of Stella. Wonder who was in charge of designing her.

This week's magazine shows Ravus in the game. He has slightly different hairstyle from movie (longer front hair).

His cheeks are also sunken, prolly has to do with kingsglaive spoilers
what happens in the movie, his left arm also looks artificial

I hope Hot Toys make a Nyx figure. Will definitely buy if there is one.

Do not want the typical crappy Play Arts Kai version of it though.

Iris is awesome.

And I think Ravus looks worse in the game. He doesn't look like someone who has things sorted out like in the movie. His weird hair in the game makes him look a bit sloppier.

Yeah, he looked much more strong-willed in Nomura's vision of Versus. The way he faced Noctis in the stand-off looks so fierce and self-composed, with such a graceful aura of superiority and humbleness at the same time.

Such a shame that Tabata's team seemingly had no understanding of what made his character truly special and completely wasted his potential in FFXV. Should've made a completely new character instead, Coloratus or something, I don't know.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I don't like Game Ravus's look, either.

He looks great. Really excited to see him in-game. Love his design. Reminds me of that jobber from XIII. I feel like he's gonna be the main villain he has a lot of reasons to be the villain.

Can I have a link ? I don't seem to find it.

Thanks!

Yeah I really prefer the game design. Movie designs are more realistic at times but I think they lose something in the process.
