GameFly lists Darksiders 1 coming to Wii U, PS4, and XBO

Didn't Nordic Games say they had another Wii U game in the pipeline? Probably this.

Edit: Reading comprehension, how does that work?

This means that both Darksiders games will be available on current gen consoles. Hope this means we get a new one.

Sadly the Wii U version of DS2 is still iffy as the supposed patch Vigil were underway with got canned when they were shut by THQ (which was before THQ themselves went under IIRC).

Pretty sure the PS4 and XBO versions are just fine, but the Wii U version had performance issues and is the only one of two or three Wii U games with screen-tearing (the other(s) being the Amazing Spider-Man games).

Will probably get even though I have a PS3 copy I haven't touched.

I hope the "cheap" doesn't apply to the actual quality of the port (like that Book of Unwritten Tales port).

Were there serious issues? I actually own a PC copy by the idea of off-tv play was appealing.

I've been avoiding Darksders 2 since release almost purely based on how pissed I was at Nordic not following through with the cliffhanger ending from the original. Going backwards in the plot line felt so frustrating.

If this release gets us closer to a confirmation that 3 is happening and does pickup where 1 left off, then I'm in.

WHAT

Really didn't expect that on Wii U, not at this point of life. :O

I already have the 360 though... Meh i will sell it. :p

Hopefully Nordic and King Art patch it soon. I doubt they'd leave those issues be. Sad though Nintendo Life were the only ones to ever review the Wii U version, and being late at that. :(

odd about the Wii U version, lol

wonder if it will be updated like DS2 was. If so cool, will play on PC!

I wonder if it's a remaster like darsiders 2 got.
and I wonder if it's coming to PC as well.

PC vanilla version doesn't run all that great even on good hardware.

I'll buy it. Loved 2 even with the rushed and terrible ending. And the gamepad worked rather well for that game.

Was the Darksiders 2 PS4 port/remaster okay?

Pretty sure the PS4 and XBO versions are just fine, but the Wii U version had performance issues and is the only one of two or three Wii U games with screen-tearing (the other(s) being the Amazing Spider-Man games).
Holy crap, this just reminded me of how awful the screen-tearing was in ASM on Wii U. Even reading the unlockable comics resulted in terrible screen tearing...

That's what I thought at first, but it does make (a lot of) sense. They're definitely betting on Zelda hype, especially with BotW not releasing before March 2017.

Also, DSII did come out on Wii U, and was even part of the Humble Bundle a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, I assume this will be a GamesCom announcement. Or maybe San Diego Comic-Con.

I thought people said Darksiders 2 was a shitty current gen port, which is why I haven't touched it. I loved Darksiders 1, so hopefully this is done well.

I hope they touch up the pc version as well, having to use third party tools and such to go higher than 1080p is a pain in the butt.

Will pick it up on wii u then will give ds2 another go after ive finished it (might be able to get over its eye gratingness once I'm into it)

I suspect we'll see DS3 either in 2017 or 2018. I think they want Joe Mad to work on it, and atm he is working on Battle Chasers which is releasing by Late 2016 if not Early 2017.

A few weeks ago, I attempted but couldn't finish a mock-up Wii U box:

I never found a proper DS1 logo in the proper size and quality. :(

I notice it's common for folks to prefer the original over the sequel. Why? I'm curious! :)
Platinumed the original but not DS2.

One of the biggest reasons would be - 'Momentum' . Game is paced nicely. You get to a place, kill a boss and then the plot moves significantly forward. New characters, new mysteries etc. You're compelled to move forward to see more.

By contrast, DS2 NEVER feels like it's going anywhere. You open a door, go back to town, NPC asks you to get 3 things, you get them, you open another door, go back to town, NPC asks the same thing, get three more things.

It was mindbogglingly boring...

Niiice, I loved it on the PS3, even more than DS2. I was going to platinum the game but never got around it. Guess I'll double dip to go for 100% completion!

Two was a lot poorer paced and had a really terrible loot system. The first felt like a Zelda game where you had some exploration and then a big puzzley dungeon, the sequel felt less like that and was more just "run around kill lots of dudes, now do it again."

These guys are really doing things in reverse, I hope DS1 is 60fps and that DS2 gets a patch to make it 60fps on consoles.

Better late than never though, my biggest take from this is that we may be getting a Darksiders 3, so I say, bring on Fury for some whipping goodness......

I like the original more since it feels more like a Zelda game. You find and get weapons in the dungeons. The bosses are way better and they have actually a personality. I feel like they are a real threat because of that. And I just enjoy the gameplay so much more.

What others have said, plus: the game is needlessly padded and stretched out. The first few hours of DS II are great, but after a while everything (especially the dungeons) start feeling very repetitive. There's not much variation in the environments either, it all feels pretty drab as you move on. Felt like a slog for me to finish.

This in contrast to DS I, which is a very capable and enjoyable Zelda-clone.

I hope this mean there are good chance for a possible Dark Siders 3 on NX!

As Reinhard Pollice confirmed to me on Twitter, Nordic Games are underway with an Action-Adventure game on Wii U, and as I and many others called it, it IS Darksiders 1!

I knew it wouldn't be Wii U-exclusive, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

Thoughts? :)

My first thought playing deathinitive vers. : god, they could not achieve 60fps...how.

100%-ed the PC version so don't realy care about this specifically, but I think their continued pushing of the Darksiders franchise bodes well for an eventual Darksiders 3.
