That's a very suspect list. Never in a million years should Others be ranked as high as sixth. That's far better than she deserves. (Also, poor Chanmi.)

lol, are you kidding? It's been quite good so far:

Rest of my picks of the first half here.

And that's without counting July with Wonder Girls, Gfriend, Stellar, D.Holic...

That show is Knowing Brothers/Ask Us Anything, which I've posted here a few times, and has had some good appearances from idols this year including Red Velvet, Twice, Hyosung/Kyungri, I.O.I, Sistar, Sunny, and Jonghyun.

5 eliminated contestants from 'Produce 101' to debut in new girl group called I.B.I
5 former 'Produce 101' contestants, whose attempts to debut in IOI failed by such close margins, have been confirmed to debut in a brand new girl group called I.B.I!

The 5 ladies gearing up to be a part of I.B.I are Han Hyeri, Lee Soo Hyun, Kim So Hee, Yoon Chae Kyung, and Lee Hae In. Because these girls were so close to earning a spot in the top 11, fans have been demanding that they come together anyway. As a result, I.B.I will be a special project group launched by Loen Entertainment.

I can't take this seriously (if it's meant to be). Firstly, Sohee and Chaekyung have already recently appeared in a mock group for God of Music 2. Secondly, I.B.I stands for "Il Ban In" which means non-celebrity/normal person, and was the name used by ex-Produce 101 contestants when they did challenges against the 7 member I.O.I on the recent episode of I.O.I's "LAN Cable Friends" show.

Also, the group is put together by LOEN, but they don't add their own Park Soyeon?

Wow that IOI spin-off group is embarrassing. What a weak effort to try and milk the most out of that show. Han Hyeri in particular is better than this, and Kim Sohee too because I like her. Just comes off as try-hard. Unless they get a really good song, but that group name why.

This is IMO the best variety show in existence today.

That episode with Sunny was one of the best episodes I've ever seen. She's really a variety qween. They did a fully ad-libbed skit where she's hosting a radio show and when Heechul came in... she didn't hesitate to pull the trigger on him... basically confirming that he's gay. Heechul's reaction to it looked so genuine, I actually had to pause the damn thing coz I was dying from laughter. And then on a later episode, the actress Jeon Hye-bin also asked if Heechul was gay when he came in wearing a wig during a similar skit.

Beyond that, the cast constantly references Soo-geun and Sang-min's gambling problems as well as LSM and Jang-hoon's divorce. It's seriously a no-holds barred show of insanity and I fncking love it.

He seems to be very liberally generalizing "porn" to mean "fantasy fulfillment" of any sort rather than meaning the show is meant as an alternative source for the same purpose. I don't know to what measure certain things are lost in translation. But yeah... I guess... If I understand him correctly... I mean, who doesn't like cute girls?

remember that no-bra-under-tight-shirts speculation tho >_>

Edit: Happiness 2.0?

I'm pretty sure Amber directed the MV. There's comments on the video referencing that as well as the post on r/kpop so somebody definitely mentioned that Amber directed the MV, unless of course, that's both of y'all on YT and Reddit lol.

Anyway, I've officially jumped ship from Doctors to Let's Fight Ghost.

Reason being, Doctors has finally thrown out PSH's gangster character and it became your substandard typical k-drama. Lee Sung-kyung is still bae, but I think I'm gonna wait out until it's over and then read up on peoples thoughts if it's worth continuing. At this point though, it's just utter fncking cheesy and way too serious, I've actually gotten bored of it.

Meanwhile, Let's Fight Ghost continues to be a light-hearted show despite some real dark elements. Park So-hyun and Taecyeon's chemistry is ridiculously off the charts(which is weird if you think about it) and their relationship is the glue that keeps the show light. But there's also a main character that brings the darkness and it's starting to show up in ep4 but I feel like it's not gonna be a huge tonal shift like Doctors or more similarly to Oh My Ghostess.

Also, a drunk Park So-hyun singing Cheer Up and doing Shashasha is the best thing I've ever seen all year.

Sorry Sana, she stole your thing.

The change of format was a masterstroke.

Unfortunately I've never seen the older eps before Red Velvet. That was my first intro to the show and I honestly I didn't like it at first, but after seeing Hyosung/Kyungri bring the house down, I immediately became a fan. I think part of the problem with the RV ep is that RV itself was nervous as fnck and the cast didn't seem like they really knew how to handle themselves around the younger idols.

That said, a lot of people think the RV ep was the turning point for the show and I'd agree. I was watching the Sistar ep earlier at lunch and I was fncking dying. It's ridiculously hilarious. Speaking of Sistar, I think I'm gonna stan Dasom in the future. She was great in the recept RM ep and she somehow managed to catch my eye here despite Bora and Soyou stealing the show.

Anyway, I do wanna watch the older eps. Especially ep 17, which I believe is where the format change happens, mostly because my favorite trot noona is a guest lol. But they haven't been translated at all. OnDemandKorea started subbing after RV's and no one else has picked it up.

She said it herself... The MV was filmed during the last SM Town in Osaka btw.

One of the best releases of SM station and one of the best MV's in a while, gotta love Amber. :D

Honorable mention to Victoria who was sick, did'nt even performed at SM Town and yet recorded the MV clearly for fun. She even got on stage to say hi to fans.

.

Yeah it's so typical of k dramas to present interesting unique characters and then episode by episode make them less interesting. Sigh. This show got pretty dumb, bu the characters are still mildly charming so I'm still watching.

Also watching: The Good Wife. Solid remake of the original.

Also watching: Uncontrollably Fond. Pretty great melodrama. Melodrama but comfortingly understated and non-hysterical. Nice calm pace. Suzy really sells the character, I forget she's Suzy and anything but the character.

Started watching W because of the hype. Interesting concept ripped from A-ha's "Take On Me" video. Directing seems typical but entertainingly-written plot may make this one to watch.

2016 has not been boring. Not long after Neon Bunny's latest, we've gotten new releases from f(x), Fei's solo debut and the "highfiVe" collaboration posted above, separated by a few hours each.

Heh, thanks for this. I still wish the other programs would pick up this optional filming, as it's a great dea to emulate "real" fancams in a post-
Still feel some "Touch" vibes, but that probaly owes to Fei's dance style more than I'm acknowledging. Definitely has remnants of "Full Moon"/"24 Hours."

I agree about production and choreo credit being listed more visibly alongside releases.

Others has leveled up quite a bit in recent months, though. Please anticipate her solo debut!

Urgh, people dredging up all that stuff again, what the heck...
I'be been keeping up with this myself- pretty abhorrent. I'll never think that the culture to placate the masses is fine, because it gives you situations like this, where people have to 'acquiesce', when in reality, they didn't actually do anything wrong. Yet, this just adds fuel to the fire, and makes the 'netizens' feel more vindicated (as if they need it).

Bullying at it's finest, ugh. Makes me feel dirty just reading about it again.
Not sure where to begin with this Kiko hot topic, really. There are still too many decades- and centuries-old regional issues which still haven't been fully addressed, leading to spill-over, witch hunts and other calamitous events. Even if you removed the historical context from Lizzy's and Tzuyu's controversies, there are current issues surrounded them from natural resources and money to ego and nationalism.

K-Dramas stuff
I've been watching Doctors since the beginning too and as you guys said, it's really falling flat.
The only silver line still remaining is the relationship between PSH and LSK's characters.

Uncontrollably Fond is starting to fall in the same case for me, we had an interesting start and a solid past but their present is all but thrilling so far.
I'm tired of that non-stop push-pull which makes no sense for me at this stage.

I do hope both dramas will bounce back though, because they had quite the beginning.

Kris and Luhan have settled with SM, at long bloody last. They'll both remain under contract with SM until 2022(!) but they're free to use whatever management agency they like for promotions outside of Korea and Japan. SM will continue to get a cut of their revenues for the duration of their contracts.

That's OK, they can have all of mine. :p

Honestly I'm just relieved to see Rainbow getting another chance. Here's hoping they come up with some interesting backer rewards.

Apink has just announced a comeback in September. I have a feeling Girl's Day is also due to release something in September although I can't remember where I read that. Wassup has a Makestar campaign on the go so I guess a comeback shouldn't be far off. Also, Rainbow isn't dead! Not yet anyway. :p

Edit: Beaten, move along.

Apink had a cute japanese release recently. Girl's Day is at one comeback a year status apparently.

Wassup is also having a makestar funded comeback and Nada is on Unpretty Rapstar.

No clue about Fadon Poop.

I was worried at the beginning of the year cause Kara broke up, 4Mintute flopped, AS still M.I.A., ExID Hot Pink sucked, but these new generation of girl groups are killing it. The future is bright.

Love it. The mv is good too, but I wish it had some more variety. All solo shots with the same settings. Still, SM has definitely taken several steps up from their nothing but pretty idols dancing in boxes era the last few years. Particular standouts are Free Somebody, Dumb Dumb, Wish Tree, Married to the Music, 11 and its remix, etc. That SM Station lets them experiment a little with music videos too is great.

Aww shucks. This is bound to happen more often now that there is a new and better Minkyung in town though.

Speaking of, Pledis have uploaded all the "training" videos:

Minkyung
Kyungwon
Eunwoo
Yebin
Yewon
Shannon
Siyeon
Kyla

Prepare for the next 4Minutebot post. Hong has left Cube.

I like to think our bot had something to do with that. The power of Gayoon is real.
