Dennis Skulsky just said that @EASPORTS is making a @CFL game! That's HUGE

Stand alone game w/ current & alumni cfl rosters rosters, CFL stadiums, with U.S. field/gameplay

Vice chairman of the BC Lions, a CFL franchise, told them this. Ryan Houdayer is a technical producer for Canada's equivalent of ESPN, TSN. I imagine PS4/XBO like with Madden?

...So we can all agree that Durant should get the cover, right?

Isn't CFL kinda niche ? I live in Canada and don't know a single person who follows it.

the average player makes roughly 80k a year, so yeah, it's much smaller. but i'm a riders fan so i know that there are a LOT of people crazy about the cfl in canada. i imagine this game will be exclusive to canada physically

Wait, a CFL game with US field dimensions? That just means it is literally a reskin of Madden and probably not even the most recent one. Does the US field/gameplay mean also that there won't be rouge or 3 downs?

The fact the tweet mentions US Field/Gameplay means this is literally a reskinned Madden. All they have to do is pay some artist to do up the uniform and a few coders and then qa. I am sure that they will only need to sell a small amount of copies to make a profit as selling 100k units would be a pipe dream.

There was a rumour WAY back when people thought the CFL was going to be added to Madden as a selectable league, similar to how FIFA has multiple leagues. But a standalone game? Could be interesting

EA is too into authenticity to have the CFL played with US field sizes and gameplay. Would the CFL even allow this?

Why? Im Canadian and even I think the CFL is a joke... Not a 100% on this cause it changes but im pretty sure we currently have only somewhere between 5-10 teams in total in the whole league (like i said this could have changed). Its alright to go see in person but ive never heard of anybody i know actively following the cfl...cannot believe this shit might get made before the next fight night (if that ever materializes).

lol. I guess if you live in the east it may seem that way in some places. In the West it does great.

The Riders are like 3rd in merch sales only behind the Leafs and Habs. Pretty sure viewership is better than the NBA too.

Why do they mention US Field/Gameplay? It is probably do to the fact that changing the downs from 4 to 3 and having the field wider and longer breaks the code.

Do the Lions suck that bad?

The CFL is not watched in Toronto and Vancouver, two of the biggest Canadian cities. Logically, you would think that they would be the best markets but people in the big cities have a type of elitism where the CFL is seen as inferior to the NFL so no one watches. These cities also have a lot going on so there is more competition.

I enjoy the CFL and watch it sometimes because I enjoy sports. Most sport "fans" in the cities are not really sports fans in that they go to what is popular and right now the CFL is not popular.

Regina just got its new stadium so it'll be kind of weird seeing it, as I lived only a block away from the site.
Yeah I drive by it everyday. It's pretty strange to see but I look forward to going to games in it.

I think this game will get okay sales.

It should be made, it's a long time coming.
