Titanfall 2 - SP campaign, Oct 28, PS4/XB1/Origin [Up: Official SP Trailer]

As someone who never played the first game, what are cards? Are they like ability slots for the mechs?

No, they are random cards you can earn which you can deploy (up to 3 total in general) during a match when you respawn. They have various effects, from having you start with a more powerful version of a weapon, to automatically converting spectres just by being close to them.

Ah okay, thanks. I'm glad I'll be coming in on a platform where most people haven't played it before.

The game looks silky smooth - I guess a few sacrifices had to be made in the graphical department for it. If the game is fun and responsive like the first one, then I don't think it matters.

Although, all of EA's games have a very CGI feel to them, except those from Respawn studios.

Do they have their own engine? Why don't they use Frostbite?

I hope it loses that card pack system thing.

Nah for the most part the burn card system is a fun distraction, the impact it has on the battlefield is minimal, good players will still be able to do great without it and cards won't turn a worse player into killing machines.

They're not an EA studio, they just have a publishing deal like Crytek had with Crysis. They also own the Titanfall IP if I recall.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
I will be buying this game, looks like a mix of Gundam & Call of Duty - pre-order confirmed.

Hoping for a live demo at Sony or Microsoft's show.

Don't envy the Infinity Ward guys right now. They have a lot to prove this E3

I didn't buy Titanfall 1 because it lacked single player.

This trailer is making me preorder this! So hyped for mechs!

I just hope the campaign isn't super short.

Titanfall 1 used Source engine...wouldn't be surprised if this one uses the same.

Didn't expect to like Titanfall as much as I did, as I hate multiplayer shooters but it some how managed to work. Now it has a single player I'm all in if my rig can run it.

Really want to see and hear more about the Titanfall 2 Single Player. Do we know if they've shown anymore of it (even behind closed doors?)

Anyone find any impressions? I cant find anything. Its playable on the show floor isnt it?

I believe it was at EA play and you could play the multiplayer, Playstation access and Giant bomb played it. As for the singleplayer don't think they showed it at all.

I really like the premise of the campaign storyline but, with the pedigree of the developers, I fear this game's single-player will be totally scripted event-driven and the same every time you play it.

Let me remap the controller layout to my own liking this time.

I want to use my psmove nav controller + mouse but I would like to have the mapping I use in battlefield 4.

So please, please, please allow me to remap every button if I wish!

You know you can remap every button for every game right? Build in the ps os.

Respawn stated they are not building a setpiece driven game, but something that can be replayed.

A short video from Respawn talking about Titanfall 2 matchmaking.

https://youtu.be/n1JNRXAx73k

Basically, matchmaking will be better, faster, and more accurate.

At the end they encourage people to take part in the technical test and to help stress their servers.

No date announced, definitely sounds like it is coming soon though.

Can't watch the video now but I really hope there isn't SBMM and it is 100% best connection. It didn't feel to me like there was SBMM in the first game but I was over 2 years late to the party since I only had a PS4. So I don't know how matchmaking was over the life of the game up until now. Even with the relatively small numbers playing it now I never have a problem getting into a game of Attrition on X1. Been playing it the past few months and loving every minute of it.

Destructoid just posted a article about the Titanfall 2 singleplayer that they had been shown in a demo at the Respawn office, though I think they did it early by accident since all of a sudden once I was done reading it was gone.

They were really positive to the game so far, talking about how the action seemed to be fairly well split and open with the Titan and Pilot gameplay. The characters were also praised as having quite funny dialogue and a surprising appearance of a dialogue choice when talking to your robot BT, by pressing up and down on the d-pad to select between two different answers.

I do hope they will show that demo to the public soon cause I wanna see it as well, sounded good. :)
