GSG Flash

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
Gonna see how the game runs on my rig when I get home, if it's as bad as is being reported then I'm getting a refund on Steam asap.

Seems like the PC version needed to be in the oven for a few months longer.

For those with stuttering, please try and turn v-sync off. If that seems to help I will post it in the OP for everyone to see.

Let's try to be as helpful as we can here ^_^

Seriously. Let's try and find a solution for people. Holding out hope so when I get home later I can have a good experience :).

Can anyone tell me if they've managed to increase mouse sensitivity? I got ingame sensitivity set to 100, yet it's way too slow. Also seems there is some smoothing/mouse acceleration going on. Is there a config file somewhere?

Also, 100FoV feels like 40 to me.

I fucking knew there was a reason why they never showed the PC beforehand. Sony contract my ass. He deliberately withheld PC information and just expected us to buy this broken game. Now I'm not happy.

Oh god

People shitting on Total Biscuit for being honest about the state of a port, he is literally running this game at 1080p with no AA on a GTX 1080 and he cannot maintain 60fps...

It's a garbage port, sure some people will say "It's fine for me" but people said that about Batman AK as well, just go and watch TB's stream, the evidence is right there in front of my eyes, this game runs like crap, the port was an afterthought and they are charging full price for this.

It's not acceptable.

SO glad I didn't get get it for $45 from GMG now. I knew this shit was going to happen. Best of luck to all you PC beta testers who can't get a refund now.

Steam Link is brilliant. If you didn't tell me it was streaming, I wouldn't even know. Mine's on wireless, too. (Granted, I have a pretty good connection.)

Awesome, glad to hear that. Running mine on wireless as well. Wireless AC signal works amazingly well.

Seriously. Let's try and find a solution for people. Holding out hope so when I get home later I can have a good experience :).

Trying to gather as much helpful info as possible now, updating the OP as we speak.

Running on a 980TI with max frame rate, it suddenly drops to below 30fps at times, a real jarring stutter.

Game is currently a far better experience on PS4, sadly.

From those screenshots it appears to be working as intended minus the hud elements
Total biscuit just flew into a planet and the frames dropped all the way down to 20.
Avoiding this until there is a performance patch, a content patch and a price drop.

Nvidia vsync as usual, and downsampling instead of using the in-game LOD bias-deficient SSAA. Everything seems fine so far. It's been pretty standard PC gaming operating procedure if you ask me. Now, whether the game is worth my time is yet to be determined. :p

Game runs good on my 5930k (OC'd to 4ghz) + AMD 480s. Not noticing any stutters except the occasional dip when something is loading, but I am using a 4k freesync monitor.

Thanks! This is is exactly what I expected. It is very dependent on the CPU....

Because it's generating the world and rendering at most times. It has even. Even crashing PS4's.

Just refund it or wait for an update, people.

Is there an option to disable the chromatic aberration? Will be home later to play but the CA is really ruining a lot of screenshots for me

Jesus Christ, why is this forum filled with whiney bitches.

Every other post references "stuttering" or "refund".

Please, grow the fuck up. Do not post if you are repeating the 100 posts prior.

Actually, do not post until you play it yourself. And if your rig isn't good enough, buy a new one. It's your damn fault.

Poor performance

I can't even change some of the graphics options, including VSync. Game is locked at 30fps. What the hell?

Also, can't recover from alt-tab.

Can't confirm or deny yet, because I have to go back to work, but as soon as I shut off in game VSync the stuttering stopped. It did say I needed to restart the game, which I didn't, but I find it strange how the stuttering went away as soon as I did that.

Anyway, so far so good. It looks awesome and now that it is not stuttering I was enjoying myself. Some of you act like you've never played a PC gamer at launch before sweet Jesus it's not that bad! lol

I will highly disagree here, no matter what tone and how he presents it, if it's a legitimate problem it's not whining.

You can categorise it how you wish, but again the content of the complaint, its legitimacy, has nothing to do with it being whining. Its almost as if words mean things and whining refers to a particular manner of complaining.

Yes cause saying all the stuff that is wrong with the game is whinning.

How he is saying it is why people are categorising it as whining

Man, this looks and plays so much better than the PS4 version. I'm getting around 70-80 fps with everything maxed at 1440.

Damn.

I think I'm gonna have to try this for myself then. How do steam refunds work? I haven't done one before but I'm not gonna keep it unless it runs well on my rig.

Can you just do them through Steam or do you actually have to call support or something?

It started as a PC game but then sony got involved and it was downhill from there.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Which I guess is confusing why the PC version is so poorly optimized. I guess they just put most of their resources into optimizing PS4.

Game runs like shit. Hovers around 70 BUT every few seconds it stutters and when exploring it can drop to ~20 at it's lowest.

Ran the GeForce Experience optimization, vsync turned off and changed the fps to max... that seems to have cleared up the massive stuttering, not sure what else I did.

nothing overclocked

The game crashes often on ps4 and they have one hardware to test and have Sony's QA help. It would completely froze my ps4 , not just crash to main menu. What are people expecting from the PC version when there's so many PC set ups , of course I would expect issues, I don't understand people that would preorder this game and think the game would just work fine on their PC.

Turning off vsync and using it the nvidia control panel is eloping me with stuttering. Adding pre rendered frames to 4 also helps. Only small stuttering now on an i7 4790k 980ti at 1440p
