It's from the PS4 SDK, for sure. Located usually in:

C:\Program Files\sce\orbis sdks\3.000\host_tools\bin\libscefios2.dll

However, what the file is actually used for or what it's doing in the PC release is anyone's guess. It's definitely a library from the PS4 SDK or some SDK tool, though.

Seeing as this game is running like shit for people with 1080s I might as well just uninstall it and request my refund because I'm sure it'll run like shit on my 970.

So my game does the stutter drops to 0 and my friend in skype says I drop out whenever that happens.

Meaning the game literally fucks up my entire PC every time it does it's stupid stutter shit.

It's silly. No dev in his right mind would try to emulate the PS4 on a PC to get their game to run. They most likely just rewrote a dll to be compatible with PC.

It would be like filling a bucket of water by sinking it to the bottom of a lake, draining the lake, and then picking up the filled bucket.

What a mess. Using Gsync and a Titan X P-- this game's Framerate is all over the place. I'll go from 140 fps to 30 and it will literally lock up for a few seconds. So disappointing.

Will probably pick it up for PS4 even though I have mixed feelings about supporting this developer after putting out this port.

Refund pending.

People in this thread have posted a work around for the stuttering problems. Disable vsync and Max FPS I think. I wouldn't worry too much.

It is not actually used on any PS4 executables (notice the Windows exclusive .dll extension). Could just be used for tools building between PS4 and host PC during development.

What is killing me is the stuttering when rendering new stuff, I might have to lower the cap to 30 just so I won't notice it. So far no crashes, 970 and first gen i7.

Right. The insinuation that they're emulating PS4 on PC is absurd and ignorant. Just pointing out it definitely came from some part of the PS4 SDK for Windows, and why they included it in the dir for the PC version is a mystery.

I have come to the conclusion that No Mans Sky is a real world test of a social destabilizing tool. Effects a great deal of the population and causes irrational thoughts, mood swings, erratic behavior and violent tendencies.

And why would I want them?
So yeah, just got the game, tried all the recommended tweaks in this thread, vsync off even...

Here are my specs

GTX 980 (heavy overclock)

3970X (4.6Ghz overclock)

32gb ram

SSD.

The game stutters like crazy, absolute garbage, that's all I have to say really, it's so bad that I can't even force myself to play for the 2 hours I get before a refund expires, it's bad, real bad.

Damn, that really sucks!

I'm rollin with a 970. Not even sure I wanna purchase to test and then get a refund now. Anyone with a 970 have this running good?

A game like Quantum Break or Arkham Knight, nobody could get decent performance. NMS seems like some are actually getting good performance.

There were people without issues playing BAK - that obviously doesn't mean the majority had such an experience, but it was possible. That still makes it a broken port. Thankfully, they have impoved its state quite drastically. Still problematic for quite a few, but a much much wider set of people are getting flawless performance up to the 90fps cap.

NMS is like the release of BAK, where the vast majority are having problems while there clearly are some playing without issue.

Ok, so then my other question, how much of an improvement is there over the PS4 version? Is it a good port?

That's where it is disappointing for me. 60fps and mouse movement make it feel infinitely better then PS4, no doubt. But the UI is the same and parts of it suck with a mouse, the image quality seems pretty shitty, and pop-in really doesn't look any better at all.

Same specs, same results.

Alright! Finally going home! Ready to fire this up as soon as I change some diapers and get some food into me!

Then it's beer and exploring for the rest of the night ^_^

Won't be updating the OP until later this evening, so if there is something critical you believe needs to be added please PM me and I'll be sure to get it in there when I check the thread later.

Cheers.

vsync OFF, maxed out.

Sometimes it kinda gets 'stuck' in a lagging state....restart game and problem solved.

Just so you know.

1. pop-in are the same as on ps4. actually i think they are worse...
2. fov slider is there, goes to 100, works for me but i guess somebody is going to want more.

Still a great game though :)
