Deus Ex: Mankind Divided review embargo lifts on 8/19

I've only seen the 101 trailer so far, as I'm planning to go in as blindly as possible.

One question about the enemies' AI, will they ever wake up after being taken down? Like in MGSV, for example. The fact that enemies don't ever wake up (unless someone wake on up) in HR is kinda disappointing for me.

So this Friday we can read a ton of reviews. Nice! I expect something really good from this even though the marketing.... well what marketing really?

No idea about waking up but... probably unlikely. If you get through without alarms but incapacitate people in a certain part of Human Revolution a character comments that you're putting most of them into comas. You're a cybernetic super soldier hitting people with your super strength limbs.

Though on the flip side of that I'd like to see some enemies be unable to wake up allies because of this.

Yeah, I understand the reasoning, but isn't that contradicting?

You can't easily wake up someone who is in a comma.

I'd still like to know what the HUD customization options are. DXHR had good options, but I hope this time around we can disable the mini-map.

True, but it was revealed in the outro that is was him if I remember correctly

reading up to remember HR's story I just realized that the story was actually pretty good. Don't know why it was so unmemorable.

I thought it was very memorable, I remember almost everything from it (though that's probably because I've replayed it like 6 times). Granted, it was my first Deus Ex at the time so having the
illuminati
mentioned blew my mind.

In the meanwhile I've played and loved DX1 three times, and IW once (which I honestly thought wasn't that bad)

the Deus Ex franchise and it's fans have huge standards. Many just can't helpt to react super picky about it. I agree that IW was not a terrible game and HR is a fantastic game, just not quite as good, groundbreaking, innovative and memorable as the orignal.

Absolutely. Even playing DX1 in 2014/2015 blew my mind about how big and ambitious it is, even for today's standards. I can definitely seeing IW being a big disappointment, especially in 2003.

I think DXHR still -closely- manages to be my favourite, but I suppose that's more about it being my first love and all that.

Sold No Man's Sky for this title after replaying Deus Ex Human Revolution and watching a gameplay video. This title looks like it is gonna be amazing will also buy the season pass too and that is a rare thing I do for games. Especially buying with confidence.

Obviously it's your money but please don't. We as consumers should make a hard stand against publishers forcing these kind of things. I doubt it was Eidos' decision. If we knew what to expect from a season pass, that's a different matter entirely. But this is basically "give us money while we decide what to make for you".

Why does he wear the mask!?
Yeah, I was going to get the deluxe edition on steam for the pass, but since no DLC details have been released, I won't bother

Promising to hear that reviewers have most likely played or are going to play the game this week. I finally pre-ordered this since Final Fantasy XV got delayed.

Now I'm hyped.

This is the PC footage from a couple of weeks ago, using mouse and keyboard rather than gamepad

Of note, the black screen pre-takedown animation is still present; the weird movement system when you are in cover is identical to with a controller and still present / wonky looking for keyboard and mouse use; the inventory bar is available as expected.

Man, the black screen is bothering me way too much lol. Otherwise looks good from the couple of minutes I watched. Hope my 970 manages to max the game out!

I just wanted to check out the black screens but saw already too much of the game. I will love and adore this, and play it on the highest difficulty, haha.
see through walls aug and energy actually refilly now. this will be amazing.

Did the previous game run well on PC? I just built a new PC but had this game ordered on PS4....thinking of switching to the PC version for maximum frames.

Am I missing something? Amazon has the game for $60, and the season pass for $30, on consoles. The deluxe edition is $90. I don't see any difference. Is there no $ break for buying the deluxe?

Reviewers got them over the weekend on Saturday so yeah, they've had some time with the game already. :)

Thankfully Deus Ex GO is out on Thursday so that should help pass the time...lol

Hah I just got rid of no man's sky for this as well. I just started playing HR again today though hopefully I can actually finish it this time.

Playing through Human Revolution in preparation for this. It's funny how quickly dated games graphics get after a year or two. The character face models look terrible, but there's something charming about the way their talking animations look. It's very reminiscent of the original deus ex, I wonder if that was intentional. The gameplay is amazing as well, doing a sneaking play through, so much fun.

Don't wanna watch the video, but can someone explain this black screen thing?

you play the game in first person, for takedowns it switches to a short third person cutscene, before that is a blackscreen of maybe half a second

I agree. Recently installed HR on my PC and thought they looked pretty dated. Even for 2011. The art direction just isn't very strong aside from a few select instances.

I remember the game looking better than the DC I'm currently replaying, but I'm wondering if this is partially that the art direction had the filter in mind and the DC removed it.

Definitely excited for the game but unfortunately I have to put aside money for rent and some car repair with my paycheck so I probably won't have money to snag it until early September. Everything I've seen on it looks pretty awesome.

I think it's mostly the character models that look bad/really dated in HR. Everything else looks fine still in my opinion.

The DC looks worse than the regular version, they removed some of the yellow filter but didn't bother altering the assets to fit this new color scheme.

They also removed most of the bloom , so now the art style looks much more flat.

SSAO is lower quality as well, causing artifacts.

Yes. I think there were a few technical hiccups on Nvidia GPUs at first, but they were quickly dealt with.

Port is being handled by a team well-known for doing amazing PC ports. I have full faith in them turning out a game which runs well at launch.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
It's definitely built as more or less a reboot in the sense that you don't need to know anything about the original to love it, but Human Revolution has tons of hidden callbacks, references, and commentary that links to the original's timeline and characters. PICUS was great for this.

man.. missed the music :)

And now I'm listening to the OST again. God damn I love Deus Ex soundtracks.

Based Vangelis set the perfect tone for all cyberpunk settings, and it makes it impossible to imagine any other style of music for these types of media, Deus Ex games nail it perfectly.

Stopping myself before I start posting NY Streets and Hong Kong and never finish.

EDIT: I lied, but c'mon.
