The real answer is Protect Me Knight though.

Oh yeah I remember that game being one of the best out of the Xbox Live Indie section, and also I like how Silver Dollar Games kept putting out shovelware until they made One Finger Death Punch which was an amazing game.

I'm legitimately sad now. Not for this game, but for JP developers. I think some Japanese games today look the same as this one graphically (maybe it's because this game steals some good quality assets).
I *really* hope you're not serious with this.

Shameful. Good work Sony. Not only is your QA the shits but you don't even look at games you sell on your store apparently.

Some of you people seem to think there's a team in Sony HQ playing these games and checking their quality. All they do is make sure the game doesn't brick the console or cause major problems. They don't and never will care about quality. That's not their job to do.

I'm sure it'll get taken down soon. Hopefully anyway.

There's a difference between a game being crap quality and a game blatently STEALING assets, songs, and even game icons from other people. Its so obvious that people here picked up on it...you're telling me there is no portfolio manager at Sony that could have seen this? The trailer alone repeats the same screenshot like 10 times and someone was like "hell ya just upload this bad boy to the YouTube page". Like seriously? Lol

Just a quick note: the twitter descriptions links to an Apple store profile of a individual named Gilson Pontes. Thats a very common Brazilian name, and considering the twitter description id "US, JP and Brazil", despite not seeing any Brazilian stuff, I'm willing to believe its not actually a game Studio, but just a single guy.
 
I'm not gonna say bad looking indie games don't make it onto PSN but its rare to see one that makes me go EHHHHHHH during the entire trailer.

Well, there'd have to be a portfolio manager position that goes through every game and flags ones that look bad. There are dozens of regions - do you really think Sony, or any company, has the time to go through and do a Google search about something fishy?
 
This has to be just some dude or a couple of dudes who did this just to see if they could get a game on PSN. There's no way they could make any real money from this. Even making a shitty game with stolen assets takes some resources. Just the administrative stuff and the "marketing" takes some effort.

How many copies could they possibly sell? Maybe a hundred? 50 drunk people, 25 from morbid curiosity, 20 pushing the wrong button and buying it by accident, and 5 of the developers' friends.

It's not just a prank, bros. This developer did dozens of "releases" across PlayStation Mobile, iOS and the Amazon app stores. It doesn't look like they're done with PS4 either.

CREATING A GAME IN UNITY

Ambitious Game

Behind every independent game, often lacking in hardware technology resources, Indies make creative decisions to overcome challenges in making games. Each independent game is a reflection of its creators within the context it was made. My studio is LIGHTNING GAME STUDIOS, I am an independent developer based in BRAZIL. I'm the creator of SOLBRAIN KNIGHT OF DARKNESS. I started working on SOLBRAIN in January of 2015.

Development

I started developing games in 2011, two inspirations from other video games are Final Fantasy and Zelda. I wanted to create a video game captures the gameplay-oriented exploration of the Final Fantasy series and Zelda. Before you start Solbrain in its current form, I and my team created several prototypes between 2014-2015. Development was difficult in many ways but when I found the Unity Engine was fantastic. My team chose Unity as the foundation for the game because the Engine Unity is a best tools and more versatile for game development in the world market.

Design Process

An early decision was eliminating enemies and characters from the design, as modeling and animations are not among my strengths. This cut out the need for models, animations, artificial intelligence, and dialogue; vastly reducing development complexity. I replaced what would traditionally be animations or models with an extensive particle effect system. Through tweaking a few numbers and colors, I can create a great deal of art assets relevant to gameplay.

Conclusion

Independent games are a reflection of their creators, and this is especially true for Solbrain. Adopting a development process reflecting my own abilities and inspirations resulted in a game unique to me and my team as a person.

Solbrain Knight of Darkness to be released this year for Playstation 4.

It's made by a small indie team guys, let's cut them a break.

They're choosing to put their game on the same marketplace as Uncharted 4 and Call of Duty, and they want $10 for it. They shouldn't be rewarded for stealing assets and music that others created, and no platform holder should allow this type of game on their service.

These guys released a bunch of Solbrain games on PS Mobile and would flagrantly steal art there as well. Here's you playing as Miku.

Same assholes that were on the Unity store also. Though think some of their stuff got removed.

This isn't specifically Sony's game, this company has been doing this stuff for years.

It's bad enough they managed to make it to a 9th game even (Would this actually be 10 considering the PS4 game? Hmm)

IIRC there are lots of Solbrain games on playstation mobile and mobile, they never had any problem on those, but being on a home console is totally another thing... the end for the series(and the developer?) is coming imo.
