Acording to the chinese forum this is the CUH-2016B. No light on the top. And there is one more HDMI slot. No color variants, just black.

All this time the shipped and sold throug numbers of PS4 were pretty close, about 1 million between both. It would be pretty easy for Sony to get rid of all their stock with a fire sale.

If it's real, I think it looks ok just not quite as nice as the Xbox One S. All that really matters to me is that it doesn't sound like a hair dryer. Also, I don't see a power or eject button.

I thought, if anything, that Neo would be smaller than the current PS4 if all the leaked specs were true.

I actually think it looks nice. Not that Id ever get one either way given the Neos existence.
Here's my theory: this slim version is indeed real and is what is being teased to be announced in September (meaning it's yet another Sony announcement leaked ahead of time).
It will be released later this year to counter the Xbox One S, while the Neo will only be mentioned at the event (and perhaps shown indirectly with a Microsoft style "devs comment" video) for a release next year with updated specs from the leak/rumor (to be more on par with Scorpio) and to give devs more time to adjust.
This is all pure, baseless speculation and I could be 100% wrong, but that's what my gut is telling me.

Not at all. There is really nothing wrong with the design. It's not amazing but it's not bad. It just "is".

Again, you have 4 devices on the shelves at the same time, with two different libraries of games. Then you have to clear PS4 Regular stock.
