I think we can all agree the cardboard itself is real.

The console 3D modeling looks quite legit too though. Of course some people could do that, but why bother if it's to sell en ebay and scam people? You can scam easierly with a 50€ regular PS4.

Again, you have 4 devices on the shelves at the same time, with two different libraries of games. Then you have to clear PS4 Regular stock.

I'd have no issue with that if they had actual external HDD support in the OS.
They could sell a basic model with no HDD for $50 less that won't start any games until you plug in an eHDD for all I care. I'd rather have those savings since I already have external drives laying around.

Why would they remove power light indicator or whatever it's called? It's integrated into the OS and every PS4 icon looks like this:

They should be similar.

PS3 had similar icon where upper line had a slight curve and every PS3 redesign had curved shape. (can't find any photos)

I believe it could have been a strategy of Sony to wait with the Neo. But no, thats unlikely at this point, Sony wouldnt host that event for "just" a slim.

Because HDD's are cheap, just like RAM. yet when you go and get a $400 Win10 laptops at a retailer it has 4GBS of ram and 500 to <500GB HDDs.

If you read comments on here you'll realize how scary this is for many people. They would rather pay more to have the extra space already there.

Here's my theory: this slim version is indeed real and is what is being teased to be announced in September (meaning it's yet another Sony announcement leaked ahead of time).

Slim = cheap model with every cost cutting measure made.

Current PS4 will continue to be sold for now and there is Neo as well which will most likely look more similar to current PS4.
