If it is SD related, maybe they're trying to make a sequel happen outside of Square Enix? I could see them announcing an acquisition of the 'Sleeping Dogs' IP, and a partnership with another publisher (Maybe Warner or Deep Silver?).

More likely, it's a mobile/F2P game announcement.

Sleeping Dogs had some great melee combat. I'm surprised there haven't been any games that tried to copy it. I'll say it right now, the Arkham series would have been infinitely better if they aped the combat from Sleeping Dogs.

Sleeping Dogs 2 sure would be a nice surprise. A refinement on the combat system plus more enemy types would be refreshing.

Plus a story that makes more sense. I hated how almost nobody calls Wei out for being a mass murderer because he's a cop.

I am betting it's a port or remaster of some sort which they have done in the past. GDC was just a week ago and Deus Ex is launching tomorrow, and I doubt Square wants a big game of theirs announced on the same day as a launch. Timing is off for a full fledged Sleeping Dogs 2.

I could totally get into a Sleeping Dogs hero shooter, where they balance gunplay vs melee combat. So different characters are proficient with different weapons/fighting styles. Whole thing sending up the Bruce Lee-era kung fu movie vibe.

I'm thinking something 100% separate from Sleeping Dogs.Likely just some bandwagon-hopping game for mobile that takes minimal dev time, and could produce easy returns.

Or maybe another remaster/port job (United Front did the XBO/PS4 ports of Tomb Raider 2013). I see whatever this tease is, is just a bill-paying gig.
