Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
Unless the controller pieces don't have all the buttons a Wii U GamePad does, I don't see how this could possibly be negative news. You'll still be able to use them like a standard controller, and games that aren't Just Dance will probably support standard control schemes.

.
Assuming you are right and it's just an added feature that has no effect on the physical design of the controller then sure more options are good yadda yadda..

But how often do you really use the 'motion controls' that are tacked on to standard controllers like the Dual Shock 4 etc..if the answer is never or almost never then it adds some cost to the design for no reason which is even if relatively small, impacts the build costs of the whole system which is clearly a priority or it would be competing with MS/Sony.

1) This article about NX's detachable controllers supporting force feedback and motion controls has truth.

2) NX prototype had a 6.2 inch 720p multi-touch touchscreen. Unknown if final product's screen size will be larger / smaller than prototype.

3) Prototype for dock station has USB ports. I heard 2 usb ports, but I don't know if this number will change in the final product.

This is a perfect screen size/resolution combo. Will be very happy with this, and multi-touch is a nice plus after years of resistive single touch bullshit.

The rumour says motion control not ir pointing

The IR pointing was the best part of the WiiMote. But regardless, IR pointing was just a certain way of achieving motion control. Move could do very similar things as the Wiimote and didnt use IR. So its probably not a very important distinction to make. And for all we know Nintendo may still use the IR bar and cameras for a 3rd generation. They still have alot of IR in their new patents.

August is basically over as well as this week and Nintendo still nada. I'm actually starting to think Nintendo will not reveal this dumb thing on september, and if it does, it'll be probably till the very last day of september. I wouldn't mind about that if it wasn't for the massive Wii U game drought we're going through and there's nothing to enjoy on the system enough to keep us busy right now. Thank god Pokemon Go has keeping me busy, otherwise I would had quit gaming already since I only own a Wii U! I'm talking way off-topic now but I can't help it :(

This. This!

Who doesn't like resting their arms on the couch?

Controller split in 2 is more relaxing than using one piece where you need to keep your hands together. Don't understand why traditional controller are still in one piece.
Maybe to have less parts?!

I'm not talking about moving

Not a huge fan of motion controls so I'm not sure how to feel about this. The build and quality of the controller is one of the most important aspects of a console for me. With NX supposedly being portable, it's been a top concern of mine for a while now. Really anxious to see this thing.

Reveal! FFS

Seriously. Wasn't September the strong rumor? September is nearly here so it's surprising we don't have an announcement yet. Typically companies give a few weeks, at least, of lead time so the media can make travel plans.

Ah yes, it all makes sense now.

Why do you guys reckon the NES mini controllers use the wiimote plugs? For backwards compatibility with consoles that no one plays anymore? No sir, it's because they are coming out with updated wiimotes for NX that also feature that extension plug. That way you can also use the controllers for NES VC on NX.

This rumour is 100% a lock.

er...Nintendo

My only hope is that the touch screen will be good for drawing. I feel like Nintendo's touch-screen systems fostering so much artistic talent has been one of the most underappreciated aspects of their hardware of the past decade and it needs to be a mainstay for the foreseeable future.

So the screen is literally the same size as the Wii U gamepads, hopefully the rest of it is a little smaller or that's a pretty beefy portable.

720p screen means their assets will be at Wii U levels for a while...unless they start at 1080 and downscale

If the whole, "Stronger on the dock," idea is true, then scaling seems perfectly logical. It's a simply slider to implement within PC games. You'd hope they would target better than 720p assets regardless though.

I'd be very pleased with a 720p screen on a handheld, I think. My biggest fear was sub-hd.

So that weirdness and ambiguity about whether or not Zelda NX will look better than Zelda U was because they really shouldn't look all that different?

From Nintendo? I 100% expect 720p assets unless they can absolutely justify the cost benefit.

I wouldn't mind being able to use the same controller to play Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Super Mario Galaxy.

Well... at least is HD AND it has multi touch. The real megaton here. Bury resistive touchscreens on the same hole were the E.T. games are!

They're probably cheaper than resistive screens considering every phone and tablet in the world uses capacitive screens.

I feel like the people taking 'support motion controls' as requiring it for every game just saw the words 'Wii' and 'motion controls' and just immediately started typing up their 'no waggle pls' posts.

6.2 inches is squarely phablet size, larger than iPhone 6 Plus or Galaxy Note 7. Don't expect it to be easily pocketable, which is fine given that it'll be a secondary portable device for most people who carry it on the go.

Didn't what's his face say better resolution than we feared but worse than we hoped? 720P sounded about right from that.

Sounds fine for the mobile part for me, though on a screen that size it would be visibly grainy, but far better than any screen Nintendo has ordered to date.

?

You can have dramatic improvements in textures, lighting, geometry, etc, at 720p. 720p doesn't denote asset quality at all. The Wii U had a lot of room for improvement at that resolution.

Well, if you can remove the controller portions of it, it becomes a phone/tablet. Now the question is what can you do with it in said form?

I can see that, but if we're talking about a system that is substantially more powerful than the Wii U at least, which largely targets 720p, I would think they would increase the res given the improved specs. That's assuming of course though that it is meant to look better while docked, which perhaps isn't going to be true. If it's more or less an HDMI out for a handheld-first system, then yeah, I agree that 720p would be what they stick with.

You misread my post, you can't play Metroid Prime Trilogy or SMG with a standard gamepad that just senses motion, you need a pointer. That's my whole point, if the NX controller has a Wiimote like design then I'm 100% out. If it JUST has motion sensing in a 'standard' pad design then cool but the feature is mostly useless anyway and adds cost for no reason.

These are all rumors for now. Not facts. Just things that I've been hearing down the grapevine. Could be right, could be wrong. *shrugs*

4) MCV's report about GameFreak being involved with NX has some truth to it.
