ReCore uses "sandwich time" tech once you die (edit: or not?)

Usually when you die it's over for good, but in video games 2 minutes is a deal breaker.

I am eager to hear what reviews have to say. I'll still keep this game on my radar.

I honestly can't believe you actually compared real life death to videogames death to justify the loading time of a game.

I hope the PAL version uses European sandwich time.

Ok just tested.
29 seconds
33 seconds
32 seconds

So far which matches all my previous playtime in the past.

Using a external 7200rpm hyrbid and will test on the internal and another external later.

That's a pretty fast harddrive, right? 30 secs with that...

lolllllllll

This thinking. Usually people have to train years to become procificent at any skill but kids won't sit through an 8 hour tutorial.

Everyone going "that's not happening on my HD that I installed" is missing the point. The vast majority of users are going to be on stock Harddrives.

If the thread is misrepresentating the game by showing a statistical outlier I can see why people would be upset. If loading screens like these are normal, then it's a legitimate issue with the game. Something we won't know until more people get to spend time with the game.

I highly doubt I'll see similar loading times on my XB1 because I'll have the game installed on my external SSD. Karak is reporting much shorter loads on his 7200 RPM external drive.

Quoting for visibility:

Congratulations, but the vast majority will be playing the game on the internal 5200 rpm non-hybrid HDD.

At least its not worse than BB

The absolute worst case loading time in Bloodborne at launch reported by Digital Foundry was 53.5 seconds on the stock HDD.

Hey, if you want, you can make your own threads highlighting the positives.

It's disingenuous to post this without context though. Does this happen often? In one specific part of the game? Is it a one off thing thats clearly a bug?

People dog pile on a game so quickly.

Edit: Lol and the game isn't even out yet. Come the fuck on people.

I have an external drive so hopefully I never see 2 minute load times. The general population? too bad for them I guess

Jesus. One death would be enough for me to just drop the entire game. Man Inafune just can't catch a break
well I guess he can during loading screens.

No it's not. 2 minutes load times is pretty damn bad no matter the context. I don't care if it's a bug. The ReCore devs pushed it though certification and people found it. Guess what, they got burned by their QA team. Tough shit, deal with the fall out of people mocking you and fix it.

haha. I hope you were drinking tea and having your pinky out like a fine gentleman should.

From what I've seen in streams, it's usually 30ish seconds. But the fact that it was 2 minutes once is still unacceptable. Hopefully this vid gains traction
Even if the bug is already fixed in the Day 1 patch? I mean, there's a reason for embargoes...

Wasn't there a Vita or PSP racing game with 2 minute loading times for like 30 seconds of gameplay?

I was like "wtf is sandwich time"? Thought it was some kind of respawn mechanic but Wow that's terrible. There's sandwich time before the loading screen even appears

Anyone remember Lichdom Battlemage on consoles? Even before the patch which fixed almost everything wrong with the port the loading screens were shorter than this

That's the final version? I know that when I died at Gamescom, I thought the game hung up, before I could finally restart, but if this remains in the final game, that is a really really strange oversight.

What the hell are you talking about? The games not even out yet. Are we shitting on developers for bugs found before release now?

that was about a 2 min loading screen

how much improvement can be realistically expected from a patch? if they reduce it to say 30s, which is cutting it by 75%, i'd be impressed, but that's still a shitty amount amount of time to have to wait.

anything more than 10s is too much imo.
