I'm in the exact same boat. Bought PES last year based on the demo and the hype, then it fell flat for me after about a week. So I picked up FIFA and played the shit out of it.

Between 16 and 17 the gameplay is just so much smoother. Animations and shooting are a lot more polished and the AI making runs during build up is so much better. Between the PC and PS4 version, replays and close ups are 60fps as opposed to 30fps with motion blur on PS4. Nothing I can notice in graphics though. Also controller support seems dodgy, on my PS4 controller everything is mirrored, Circle passes, X shoots, R1 sprints etc. Not sure how to change it either.

can't seem to be able to play decently with this demo...don't know what i'm doing wrong but i have an hard time devloping any kind of good play, despite regularly defeating the CPU at the same difficulty level in fifa 16

So I noticed Joe Hart is still on Manchester City in the demo. When the full game releases will all the rosters be updated? I'll be playing career mode. The demo has been fun. I'm definitely going to be picking this up.

Yeah they'll all be up to date. FIFA updates daily during January too so it's always up to date thank god.

I think I remember you being from the UK and basically brexit fucked us. Cheapest I saw it was Korean Origin with Origin Access discount and it's still £32/33 which is the same price as CDKeys. I got it from Korean Origin in the end.

This has to be the worst football game in years. Such boring and uninspired gameplay. No real moments of coincidence, terrible runs with AI not even noticing free space, passing is worse than 16, ball physics are weird, CPU knows only one tactic, Hart's first touch is better than Messis, general pace feels not dynamic at all. It looks incredibly pretty though. But as a football game, this is pretty bad (against CPU).

I'll need to play much much more, but early impressions are really good. Reminds me of FIFA 12 in terms of pace, which was my favortite of the series.

I read this morning FIFA 17 supports 21:9 ultrawide, which looks magnificient in this game: https://youtu.be/VceDzpsnBMo?t=142

I'll use a custom resolution on my 65'' 4K TV, to have a giant 21:9 screen. Can't wait to go back home.

Did anyone manage to edit the PC .exe file and extends the match duration limit?

Do you play on a controller? Having major controller issues with the demo, everything is mirrored on my DS4.

I get random freezes for like 5 seconds on the PC version. Random because sometimes they never happen. Playing at 1080p on a 960m 3GB.

Runs fine otherwise 😑

Pretty disappointed by the demo. The gameplay felt super floaty and the pace was weird. It was fast but in way that quite didn't feel... "natural"? Not sure, but it put me a bit off.

The Journey however (the SP mode with Alex Hunter) has loads of potential. The multiple answer thing is fun, especially if has consequences later down the road.

So what I want is basically Konami to do The Journey and all shall be well in the world :p

The more I play this the more I like it. Somehow shooting feels way better to me. I am seeing goals I though previously only possible in PES.

Played it for a few hours, it's similar to 16 but definitely improved in some key areas that make the pacing of the match much better than before. Corners are also amazing now, i was able to put the ball on the head of my players many times and it felt like any corner could be a real danger for the defense (it was useless to just cross in the middle in the previous entries), while penalties are utter fucking trash. Animations are hit and miss, some of them are good but others are just weird and the players still look like puppets. "Story" mode was also a pleasant surprise, it can still end up being bad in the game but the small bit available in the demo was definitely done better than the laughably shitty spike lee joint in NBA 2K16. That being said, gameplay is still pretty far from PES 2017.

they pushed the prices up in Mexico to $60 from $40 so it's not as cheap there anymore.

Played the demo last night. I've really liked what I have played of the PES demo so far and was hoping to try the FIFA demo and hate it. But it's actually pretty good. It's still FIFA, but can definitely notice a bunch of changes in the gameplay compared to 16.

Now I'm really torn. Ultimate Team consumes me. Which is basically the main reason I was hoping the gameplay here would disappoint me, but it's looking like I'll end up down the rabbit hole again.

They better have not removed overcast from the full game because cloudy still looks too bright and washed out.

It's pretty good, I can't lie. The Journey could be a great experience. But I'm so burned out on Fifa in general, I'm probably gonna sell my copy that comes with the Xbox One S
