Def one of my fav FF games, but yeah... the final act of the storlyline felt rushed and sort of left a lot of loose ends. Perhaps they originally were going to do a FFXII-2 and scrapped it.

My only real issue with the Pharos is the length of it, since it takes a while to get to the top.
Then again, it's technically the game's Final Dungeon (and has some pretty rocking music), so there's that.

I agree with Giruvegan and the Great Crystal being tedious and annoying though.
Especially the Great Crystal if you decide to go back to get the extra stuff.
Incredibly easy to lose your bearings and get lost without a map.

I wish we go to take care of Occuria business after the original final boss too.
If they have some paralel universe that FFXII was a finished product, I would like to jump into.
 
I remember my cousin playing FFXll and really digging the design of the characters. I cant wait for this remaster to come out so I can play it myself. I know nothing about the story except for how cool one of those judges? looks, and pirate guy and bunny wife.
 
I am hoping that this comes out sooner rather than later in 2017. No matter what, I am excited to pick this up. FFXII is the one FF that I have not played and have no legitimate way to play at present. (All the other ones I can pick up for PC, basically). I feel bad that I missed this in PS2 days, and really want to get my hands on this.
 
Ha I remember when I played the game on PS2 and only played my favorite 3 characters.

Then hit a boss fight, the main crew went down and the reinforcements...all dies in 1 hit because I hadnt been levelling them up and giving them good equipment

I bought the limited edition of this game that came with those big fat strategy guides, and there was a super detailed walkthrough of how to navigate the crystal. It was still confusing as hell and it took me a couple hours to get Ultima.

Can't wait for the remaster though. Day one.

I only hope S-E remove the RNG bullshit manipulation that allow players to cheat the game. Really hope that crap is removed.

I thought every RNG can be manipulated unless they use real random numbers like from random.org? People has been manipulating RNG for decades when I heard them doing it for Fire Emblem.

Serious question. Why would it matter if they don't remove it? You wouldn't be manipulating the RNG, so it wouldn't affect you at all would it?

Btw, I don't really understand the whole RNG thing so excuse my ignorance, just curious.

Part of the fun of games is the shared experience you have with other players, even for single player games. There are certain tasks in games that earn serious nerd cred. When you bake cheating into a game, it further removes the achievement of the time investment/effort because you could have just saved yourself all of the trouble of legitimately accomplishing them and no one would know the difference.

So if you patch out RNG manipulation, you are essentially perfecting the intended game experience.

Now whether FF12's RNG should be altogether preserved in its ridiculous entirety, that's another topic.

Well yeah but it's much more blatantly obvious and exploited in FFXII with the ability to manipulate chest items, level 99 Red Chocobo spawns, items you steal etc

They need to fix that.
 
The thing that always bothered me with FFXII's story was how the religious iconoclasm comes out of nowhere near the end. It's almost as if they scrapped the whole final act of Matsuno's plot and - in trying to figure out something to replace it - just grabbed one of the most tired JRPG clichés.
Nah pretty much every one of Matsuno's games starts with a human conclict that escalates into a supernatrual one.

I would be positively shocked if they did. IIRC, the RNG in FFXII is all inside the game itself. They'd have to do a ton of work to fix it. Far more than it'd be worth.

Yeah, my ideal change (other than 2 jobs) would be to remove the RNG entirely. Put the little pots and chests with not much in them where they are, as it provides a bit of flavor. But the ones that can/should contain important items (like the badass sword post-Demon Wall) should always contain that item.

If you're talking about the invisible chests with the invisible equipment, then yeah, they should be eradicated entirely.

If you're talking about all of the normal equipment you can get in the vanilla version of the game, the Zodiac version already fixes all of that. The vast majority of the high-end equipment is now in one-time 100% spawn/drop chests with only a couple of exceptions.

Edit: Actually not just the high end, but pretty much any piece of equipment found in a chest, and all spells/abilities found in chests as well. Unfortunately, the chest you can open up after defeating the demon wall only holds a Scathe mote now. But it, too, is 100% spawn, 100% drop and never spawns again.

(I've put about 1200 hours into IZJS, so if anyone is curious about anything with it, let me know)
