Also, November 10th is Bomba Day for the 3DS. All these games release on the same day (mostly kids stuff), including two from FuRyu alone.

[3DS] Beyblade Burst
[3DS] Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan: Shijou Psi Dai no Psi nan?!
[3DS] Pika Pika Nurse Monogatari: Shounika wa Itsumo Oosawagi
[3DS] PriPara Mezameyo! Megami no Dress Design
[3DS] Lil’ Lil’ Fairy Kirakira ☆ Hajimete no Fairy Magic ♪

Doesn't PriPara do well.

Yeah, I should post the full line-up for Q4 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS (and the Wii U :p) later or tomorrow. Though we're still missing some stuff like PowaPro which is supposed to come out this winter... not sure why it wasn't announced today at TGS, maybe this week-end during the public days.

For 3DS, apart from PowaPro there are Miitopia and Momotaro 2017 planned for this year as well, without release date yet (probably December).

This week, especially yesterday, was a massive week. New PlayStation 4 hardware and New Nintendo hardware as well. However, Persona 5 is worth mentioning here.

Advertisements at TSUTAYA Shibuya were really big.

Down to Makuhari Station also there were ads, and finally in Yodobashi Akiba there were lines since early in the morning.

Oh yeah, forgot about Momotaro 2017 (think they may release that either in early december, or on December 29th, for New Year?). Miitopia is most definitely an eShop release, though I could be wrong.

But we now have the release date for PowaPro! December 15th. 4500 Yen (+ taxes). Clearly aiming at kids for Christmas here (and most likely older players on New Year, too).

So, the second worst week for software of all time (the worst was 235k).

Miiotopia is retail as well. Check the Japanese ND again, it says package game.

70% sell-through is great. Means the game is selling well, but not too much (so no lost sales due to shortages). Most likely a second shipment before the end of the week.

Doesn't PriPara do well.

I know, I said I was being a bit trollish with my bomba comment. But it's the third annual entry.

You're right about Miitopia, I just assumed Mii = Downloadable game, since I was thinking of the StreetPass Mii Plaza games and all.

So, the second worst week for software of all time (the worst was 235k).

Phew, that was a close one.

Unless my memory fails me, Battle for Money never had good Week 1 sales. It was always the legs that carried it, so Day 1 sales don't mean much.

70% selll through probably means it's getting sold out in the more central areas, I expect more shipments over the weekend honestly.

Despite Pro Baseball going up this year it looks Winning Eleven keeps going down.

Maybe they should just skip a year like PowaPro did (while releasing a roster update).

***
Bandai-Namco detailed the first update in a series of updates for Dragon Ball Fusions. Releasing this Fall, and will add new stage + online play. Also special demo version releasing this Fall featuring the new stage. And next month, new TVCM featuring some celebrities.

http://www.4gamer.net/games/333/G033374/20160916050/

Also, doesn't look like Nintendo's planning to discontinue the OG 3DS any time soon... Although you need to click on Line-up to find it (not mention on the main Hardware page).

The leg on Kirby is really something else. I wonder why Kirby is so less talked about than other Nintendo franchises. It seems to be a very big franchise.

Do we know how many copies of P5 were shipped?

Not really, but assuming expectations and sellthrough, the shipment for both versions should be around 330k.

I know, I said I was being a bit trollish with my bomba comment. But it's the third annual entry.

It's the second time I read something about your trollish comment, lol.

Things can only go up from here!

Yeah, sure. However, third week of October (20th) should be quite bad, not at these levels, though.

Would be great if Media Create also counted the Pokémon 2DS bundles, so that Chris could normalise his data.

Because sales gaffers, it is a well known fact lol.

And of course, for the hardcore gamer, kirby is too casual to be even mention lol.

How much have recent Kirby games even shipped worldwide?

It's a very consistent franchise, but not all that big (i.e. 5 million+ sellers).

edit: has any game besides the first even cracked 3 million?

Triple deluxe 700k+ in jp?

Edit: bleh. U edit ur question lol.

Triple deluxe in 2015 is 1.7 mill WW. It is a consistent 2 mill seller.

If 2 mill is not big number, i will be quite shocked lol. Seeing how many games would dream to reach that number consistently.

Edit2: u are doing this on purpose right.O_O

Kirby super star ultra on ds 2014 hit 3 mill.

It didn't have a huge first week, but it had an increible sell-through:

Ah, must have been thinking of the wrong game then. The one that came out this week is the 3rd one?

Now that you mention it, I do remember that 96.83% sell-through... isn't that pretty much the highest first-week sell-through ever? Or one of the highest at least.

Well no, i don't said Kirby is small indeed, just 2m is not big.

I would say a "big" game should at least sells +5 million worldwide.

A look of how Pokémon Sun and moon pre orders are doing on COMG!

Launch allinied, Pokémon XY pre orders started today, while ORAS will start tomorrow. Pre orders of Pokémon SM started 2 months ago.

CsghSKPWYAAzOKo.jpg:large

CsgiEI2WEAA0kjO.jpg

Note: I track the double pack as one point, but is tecnically two.

Games on COMG recently have a better ratio than years ago, so whater happen, we should expect Pokémon MS to have a better ratio points/sales than XY or ORAS.

I am still one of those sceptics that doesn't believe that Sun and Moon will outsell X and Y in Japan. There isn't enough evidence for this from past. Black and White sold less than Diamond and Pearl and Gold and Silver sold less than Red, Blue and Green (GBA didn't have two proper gens). Sun and moon might have better first week than X and Y ( just like black and white had better first week than Diamond and Pearl) but I think LTD will be lower (especially as NX will kill some of the legs of Sun and Moon).

Nintendo is already pushing the game, it has been already 2 weeks that I see CM on yamanote, pretty unusual considering that it's a 2 months away release
So considering their efforts I suppose the declining trend will stop

Agreed, 20th Anniversary also is something to keep in mind as well.
