We've known the NX is coming in March 2017 since Nintendo officially announced it in April. You should not be surprised.

This was confirmed back in April lol. Rumors have it was supposed to be at E3 this year, and release this holiday season, but got delayed to "insure" it has games at launch.

So we know that the BOTW Amiibo will be released then. We know that NX is slated to release in March, we know BOTW is slated to release in March. We also know and Nintendo confirmed that both versions of BOTW will be released simultaneously.

We can choose to assume that the Amiibo won't release very far outside the release of the game, for whatever your reason of choice. Which would lead you to believe that they're still on track both with the development and release schedule of the game and the NX.

I needed to separate for myself what it still technically speculation from what this actually confirms, which is an amiibo release date.

Uh, obviously??? There's nothing binding me to a decision yet.

But was leaning towards a Nintendo system because my daughter is showing an interest in video games and Mario games are fun for the whole family.

Though I'm really interested in replacing my PS4 with a Pro, I'd gladly pick a Nintendo system instead if it's available.

Technically we don't know this. BOTW has never been given a specific timing beyond "2017". Most have been going off the (reasonable) assumption it'll be a launch game, but that's never been officially committed to.

Is that right? My mistake. Either way, I would assume that the amiibo wouldn't drop too much outside (whether before or after) the release date of the game. So maybe this confirms at least Q1 2017 for the game?

All I want with the NX is gamecube vc. I will put up with anything to get gamecube vc.

March seems a strange time to release a new console but they probably don't want to have to go against ps4 pro and the scorpio for either holiday window. By March, gamers will have enough saved again to actually buy the NX assuming it launches with games people want to play.

I dont get why people think the amiibo and game wouldnt launch together?

Smash 4, Mario Party 10, Chibi Robo, Splatoon, Kirby Planet Robobot, Twilight Princess HD, Woolly World etc all launched with amiibo on the same day they came out.

Whenever release date info comes-up, I always end-up re-calculating how much vacation time I'm going to have at work by the time Launch Day arrives. Early March is okay.. it means I'd have to get my tax return filed really early in the year if I want my tax refund by then. =P

Same person. And they are making stuff up on Emily as it's nowhere on her Twitter feed. Her last post was 6 hours ago at Player Essence because that site and the people running it are dumb and try to discredit her. Before that, a retweet from yesterday, nothing in-between.

I just want this to be real. It gives some sort of concrete of when NX may launch. Lmao I would've expected late March knowing Nintendo.

March 4th falls on Saturday. In Europe we usually get new hardware and software -also figurines- on Fridays so I don't think this could confirm anything. The date it's probably a mistake. Both Wii U -1 month earlier than Japan- and Wii -6 days later than Japan- consoles arrived to Europe on Friday.

It's a possible leaked release date for an Amiibo that people are using to imply the NX would release within the same period.

I only thought NX would release near the end of March due to one person that posted about Foxconn and how Chinese New Year would affect the daily operations there in the middle of February during that time.

So those NX units would have to be shipped out before Chinese New Year then if... Oh wait.

I think it's funny that this is most likely a clear indication of when the NX is coming out, but everyone is afraid to trust it after all of the dumb, fake leaks. Can't say I blame anyone who's hesitating to believe, though.

Early March would suit me right down to the ground. Birthday month for me, and it'd be great to have Zelda/the NX release around then.

You know, March 26th is the last Sunday in the month, my birthday, and most importantly the (11th) anniversary of the day my wife and I met. So I'm putting my money on that date.
