Hoping RX480 with its decent DX12 drivers will be ok come release day tommorow. If not I will refund my ultimate to get the standard later when its on sale and by then hopefully the pc's performance has been fixed.

My PC :

i7 5930K @ 4.6 GHz (6 cores, 12 threads)
980 Ti (Gigabyte G1 Gaming) @ 1450 MHz
16 GB DDR4 Quad channel
1440p 144Hz GSync monitor

Everything set to Ultra, 60 FPS cap, MSAA 4x, 1440p.

I'm getting 60 FPS in the Outback but 55 in the first city and 45 in Surfers Paradise, in the cities the first core is always at 100% and the last four are not even used.

If my screen is set to another HZ than 60 I get awful stutter.

Also, I just disable Hyper Threading and now I get way more FPS, I'm getting 55-60 in Surfers Paradise and less core 1 usage :)

So i7 users, turn off HT for this game until it's fixed :/

Make sure you have the Xbox App's GameDVR function is not Auto recording. Could still be turned on if you've never installed a windows 10 store game before forza horizon3

How the fuck does this not have HDR on PC? Does Microsoft have an explanation for this?

It's just development resources. Very few people not only have the right video card (need HDMI 2.0a + HDCP 2.2) but also a 2015 or 2016 4k TV with HDR10 implementation. That limits it to the 950/960, 1060, 1070, 1080, Titan X Pascal and AMD 470/480 for the most part plus a TV that supports HDR10 properly in PC mode at 60 Hz. It sucks, but even the GOW4 developers said they aren't implementing PC HDR unless there is big demand for it and the GOW4 port looks really well done. Supposedly all Maxwell cards "support" HDR but there aren't any HDR monitors so that limits it to cards with full HDMI2.0a/HDCP 2.2 support to connect to 4k TVs.

So...? Shit port out of nowhere? Curious how it performs on X1 settings and comparable hardware. I believe it's the only way to really know how good optimization is.

Are there any performance differences between having the game installed on an SSD and a regular hard drive? Besides loading times of course. And is there an easy way to transfer the game from my hard drive to my SSD without having to redownload the entire thing?

The game doesnt unlock for another 6 hours for me but you guys are really scaring me. My specs are :
nvidia gtx 1070
i7 6700k
16 gigs of ram at 3,000 mhz

Was hoping I would be getting above 90 fps maxed out at 1080p, but now I think I need to lower my expectations.

If you're suffering from stuttering and have an NVIDIA card can you try enabling "prefer maximum performance" in the 3D tab in Nvidia control panel. This seems to have fixed the issue for some people
Will be trying this if I experience any issues after the game unlocks.

I don't get why there's a complete lack of HDR monitors still. Even the new 38" LG ultrawide coming out next month for $1500 doesn't seem to have HDR.

this is why I'm holding off on thinking about buying until the PC demo comes out...whenever that ends up being

wish it was already available but we all know that isn't the case...hopefully it's not too long after the launch

Unfortunately I fall into the category (Titan X Pascal + Samsung KS8000). Sucks to hear Microsoft's answer is just "fuck you". I also have an XBO S, but don't feel like picking between native 4K or HDR.

Game crashes on PC when I try to "buy" the Vip Pass and the Car Pass I already have installed in Xbox One.

BTW, playing on Ultra and 30fps capped and is still amazing.

I'd go down for 60FPS on Medium/High though.

Getting anywhere between 80-60fps at 3440x1440 with everything maxed apart from MSAA set to x2.
There is some stuttering but not unplayable. The only weird bug I've discovered is that occasionally I get weird artifacting along the right side of my screen.

GTX1080
4690k
16GB

The unlimited frame rate in menus and loading screen does my head in though, it's the first time I'm actually hearing coil whine, granted the FPS does jump up to 700-800

Not all developers feel that way, luckily as Rise of the Tomb Raider has it. https://developer.nvidia.com/implementing-hdr-rise-tomb-raider
Still I'm hopeful it may come as a patch. But it doesn't really make much sense to leave it out as the Xbox version has it and so arguably the work had essentially been done.

Is it really thou? Sounds more like there just aren't enough pc customers to make it financially worthwhile
There's probably more people with Pascal GPU's than those with Xbox One S's right now.

The patch to enable HDR for Tomb Raider still hasn't been released, however. I have an HDR capable OLED TV + Pascal Titan X and have been waiting for some HDR gaming content to try out, still nothing though...

Just a guess but probably hard to get a low input lag with HDR.

Perhaps, but TVs having high input lag under HDR doesn't mean much. Early 4K TVs had insane input lag while early 4K monitors were mostly fine

But there are HDR TVs which PCs work with.
Sure but how big of an audience is there, especially when trying to get the game launches.
Don't get me wrong, they need to support it but the discussion here is a bit ridiculous. I want everything with all features yesterday.
Now if they come out and say they'll never support it then I could understand the angst

So...is the game running well on pc?

I've seen videos with a single 980ti running the game on 4K 60fps with some dips into mid 50s or so...

These inconsistent reports are why I don't early adopt new port releases on PC. I have been burned far too many times. Gonna wait at least 2 weeks until issues are resolved in a patch.

Tinkering with settings and trying to troubleshoot your game just exhausts my desire to play.

Hey, they might not. Maybe Microsoft doesn't want any of their PC versions of there Xbox games to have HDR. Maybe they want it to be for their console games only!!!

I don't believe this of course, but it's such a shame that Forza fans on both formats couldn't get a taste of that HDR goodness. And it's not angst at all just disappointment.

I get that. I wouldn't have preordered without Play Anywhere support. If it plays as well as Forza 6 Apex then great. If it's a giant mess on my system I'll just have fun on my Xbox until it's fixed.

This game really does not like Hyper Threading, in Sufers Paradise :
- HT : 40-45 FPS, 100% core1 usage
- no HT : 55-60 FPS, 85% core1 usage

Damnit. Better overclock my CPU. I'll check out what it looks like with it on and off with mine once I'm aloud to play :(

Thank God I'm not the only one. I thought my Ultrawide was dying when I saw the artifacting on the right hand side. Hopefully this will be all fixed by "actual" launch day.

Hopefully my new parts will come in then too, as this game seems to chug on my 2500K with a GTX 1080.

I'm crashing everytime after the inital load (after the main menu).

I don't know what to do. Drivers are up to date.

Is performance really not that good on a 2500K and a 1080? We have the same setup and I cant play til midnight. My 2500K is at 4.6GHz, not sure what yours is at.

So, this is a thing to keep in mind if you have framerate problems:

The framerate breaks apart on both my home and work PCs...whenever there is a window open in the background. Doesn't matter what it displays or if it's using any actual power. When I Alt+Tab, minimize it and return to the game: 60fps! The bigger the window, the bigger the FPS drops.

I have never encountered something like that. If your PC should be able to run the game smoothly but isn't: Try that.
