Unless they just didn't put much work into the Vita version to begin with and planned on cancelling it anyway, I find it hard to believe that they would kill off a version of the game that was originally due to come out in a matter of months. The game already isn't going to set the world on fire, why can the version that was likely to see the most sales for them?

That's what I think has happened. If the game is being built in Unity, they probably just expected to export to Vita after developing on PS4 and doing some light optimization work. Then they got a mess. Acquire doesn't strike me as a company capable of solving that problem, and this is a game I don't see selling well. Will they bother with the effort when they know a now late Vita release will not do much?

Where does the Unity info come from? That would be monumentally stupid

Akiba's Beat screenshots released last month:

The lighting reminded me of something that Unity would pop out, but the real alarm is the "trial version" text on the bottom right.

Some random person's Unity project:

There's always a chance it's some other piece of software, but ...

Well then, hope they don't expect any real sales with this then.

I asked this in the other thread but noone replied so someone here maybe knows. Was there any news about Zodiac Vita? I remember they ditched f2p method months ago but after that I don't remember anything related to Vita version.

Uh oh. I should've believe Takao's guidance in the Digimon saga, so this does not bode well for Akiba's Beat.

Good job I didn't swap my Tales background for an Akiba one in anticipation of this game!

PC port will be easy though and we all know that's where the real money is right

Everyone loooves buying full priced PC games

Lol.

They were supposed to do content updates often. I reviewed it on iPad. Hasn't been updated in a while.

Any impressions / reviews of banned game sequel released this week?

The original was pulled from the Irish store a while back, so if the sequel is any good I need to grab it soonish - just in case.

Banned Girls 2 is actually up on German PSN. I've heard before that PSN doesn't technically require USK ratings, so it's either a mistake or NISA just said "screw it" and released it anyway.

It was listed as a release on the German PS Blog though, so I think it's legit

I dont even know what these games are. lol. No loss for me I guess.

They're both in the OP lol, I thought people might've at least skimmed it.

Light Fairytale is a retro RPG, chibi-style, currently on Kickstarter:

Super Night Riders is basically like a modern version of Super Hang on from the Mega Drive days:

Both are developed by Neko Works, an indie studio who released Night Riders on PSM way back when. I'd have played Light Fairytale myself, so its a bit of a shame.

In slightly more redeeming news, I found a cutesy platformer called Suki & the Shadow Claw which is targeting Vita (but uses Unity, so who knows what'll happen):

That wouldn't even make any sense, why bother having it in an English language LE if you're not even going to bother localizing it? It would be one thing if it were just art, but that artbook actually had a decent amount of text in it.

Koei Tecmo did exactly that with the recent Attack on Titan game in their Treasure Box.

As I said, it's pretty much identical to the JP LE

While it would be a bit weird, it could actually be the exact same items

Yeah, looks like the same content. Just with the typical flat Rice Digital box.

Slight update (if anyone's interested), I reached out to the dev and they confirmed Vita version is coming, sounds like they've already started work on it:

edit: Oh, and the dev provided a nice comparison screenshot between PC & Vita:

I really, really wish Rice Digital could find a solution for their overseas shipping costs. I'm sure they don't like the current situation either.

I believe they had many cases of damaged products before with international shipping, so that might be why they only offer relatively expensive tracked shipping.

Oof, I really want that Root Letter stuff but... not at $110, not when that $30 for shipping can get me another game (or two, or even three, if they're smaller ones) and there's so much coming out this year that I wanna play. Guess I'm sticking with the game by itself.

Wow it looks good, i hope it will run as well

I'm surprised this ISN'T called 'Vita Community Thread' for NeoGaf. Its been the main Vita Gaf thread for the past few months I feel.
A loooong time ago there was a vita thread, it was in gaming section and it had looooooots of posts too, an example:
http://neogaf.site/forum/showthread.php?t=482325

But then mods said that vita shouldn't have had its own thread so it become the psn thread and moved in community.

Those Vita threads were the reason for not just me owning a Vita, but coming to NeoGaf in the first place.

What? Why?

This makes no sense to me.

IIRC the reason was that no platform should have had its own thread, but IIRC there were other threads dedicated to a platform, and mods preferred shorter threads, so it become monthly first and then psn later.

Honestly vita and vitabros never had an easy life on gaf, there were lots of blatantly hate threads that mods not only didn't close but some of them also posted in there.
