Playstation Plus Thread 3: Getting The Knack Of These Games

I'm also revisiting old PS4 PS+ games I never cared about, after clearing Journey (which I liked much more than I expected to)

so far I've had a blast with Broforce, performance are still total crap but the game is a blast, the humor and the charachter are amazing. I'm a bit less bitter about that vote to play (I voted for AAC).

Now I'm playing through Tower of Guns. Just had my first uberwin after 10 runs, one of which was pretty crazy in diceroll mode as I ended up with 30 extra jumps. I'm really loving the depth, the variety of situations and the charged up feeling of the fights. After I'm done with that I'm gonna try Rebel Galaxy and Gauntlet. The latter is supposed to be a Diablo-clone right?

And I still have to play the Saint Row dlc, Trine 2, Dust, Lara Croft, Apotheon and Furi which have always been in my backlog.

but ps plus is crap nowadays, you know

The price will go up in 2 days. Stack up if you can.

Have both US and EU Plus. My US will lapse in November I think, don't really know if I should buy another year since it's the same games nowadays. Might be useful for sales though. I use my EU/Swedish PSN as main account.

Where can I buy digital codes for US PS plus if I should wish to extend the subscription?

A post on Game Idealist states that PS Plus 12 month subscriptions are $49.99 at Amazon.

Here's the post:

Amazon has discounted the 1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership by $10 off, dropping the subscription to the same price point it was before the price increase on September 22nd. If you are interested, you can check out the deal with the link below:

1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership – 17% off

For the uninformed, the subscription comes with the following:

  • Enables online multiplayer on PS4, so you can play games online with friends
  • Get FREE PlayStation 4 games every month
  • Access to exclusive PlayStation Store sales and discounts – as much as 80% off
  • Online game save storage: PS Plus members enjoy 10x more cloud storage for PS4
  • Enables Shareplay feature – invite friends to join you in your favorite PS4 games, even if they don’t own the game
  • So, if you are missed out on getting PlayStation Plus at its original price point, you might want to take advantage of the deal.

I went to the PS Plus Amazon page while logged off and logged in to my Amazon account. Both times the price shows as $49.99. I'm not sure if this is a permanent price change or just a sale.

Every month we get people predicting "we'll get a game in [x] series because [x] series has a new game releasing next month to promote." Can anyone think of examples of this actually happening? I'm sure there have been some, but I can't right now.

It actually doesn't seem like a good marketing strategy to me to give out, say, Battlefield 4 the month before Battlefield 1 comes out. They want people playing the new game, not the old game. Plus the old game may not be indicative of the new game. I don't think Ubisoft would want people to play Watch Dogs before Watch Dogs 2 comes out for instance. People might not like it and be turned off of the improved sequel.

Just a common prediction that I'm not sure there's any real logic to.

Yeah, it's a total nonsense.

In some cases it might work, like giving away a years-old sports game to get people playing and then wanting the new licenses and the version their friends are playing.

There's no way they'd give away Final Fantasy VII to make people buy Final Fantasy XV though, it'd be insane. Give people a 100 hour RPG for free and why would they buy another one until they've finished, at which point it's way beyond release. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

Any rumours at all for this month's stuff? Knack?

EA did it when they included Battlefield 3 And Need for Speed Most Wanted on PS3 shortly before sequels were released. I think that's where this train of thought originates.

Ground Zeroes did it. That's the only example I can think of.

3 months before, and that was actually a prologue, a part of the actual game that was releasing then

yeah, I don't get why people still give clicks to sites who makes """predictions""" like that.

lol yeah, I feel I've seen predictions about October/November getting an Assassin's Creed game for the last 3 years.

While not exactly your example, in the two months leading up to E3, we got both God of War PSP games. To me that confirmed God of War would be officially revealed at E3 and it was.

bish gets all the credit :)
Hopefully some horror game for Halloween. Wouldn't be surprised at The Evil Within, which is getting clearanced out for sub $10 at a few stores.

I wonder if they will start adding a small VR-game each month (or just now and then) at some point?

If people feel that they already have a bunch of games it might make it easier to sell PSVR to them.

Prove this isn't a fluke, Sony. Give me at least another couple months of this quality and I'll subscribe again. But you're not getting me back with 1 good month. Nevertheless, well done.

Check that the ps4 is the primary ps4 for your american account.
Try restarting the PS4.
Try using the "restore licenses" option in the settings.

It should work.

Im sure my mexican one is the Main one, can I switch that finish the game on my Main account and switch back?

You make your ps4 the main ps4 for an account. So you should probably do that for both accounts then. Log in to the account that has the game and make the ps4 the primary one for that account. Both accounts will then be able to access each other's games/DLCs.

A ps4 can have multiple accounts, but an account can only have 1 primary PS4.

You are setting the main PlayStation 4 for your account. You are not setting the main account for your PlayStation 4. So your PlayStation 4 can have multiple accounts as 'main'.

Finished Zombi (PS+ April 16) last night (on normal). Good game. Well worth a play through. I think I might give Survivor (perma-death) a go but the [late game spoiler]
arena section
makes this a little less attractive as you can't prepare kit wise for it and though there isn't much randomness there is enough to make this potentially frustrating rather than tense. I could save-scum it I guess...

Also started up GRID Autosport again (PS+ February 16) and enjoying the open wheel stuff after enjoying but not being fully sold on the street race events when I first tried it in February. I've not tried it with a controller but it is fun with a wheel. FFB is pretty weak and the driving model leans more into arcade than simulation but it's still pretty fun. I think I'll put some time into at least the Open Wheel, Endurance and Touring Car parts of it over the coming winter months.

Does he play on that account or on another like you?

My PS+ marathon continues and I've now moved on to replaying Mafia II (August 2013) on the PS3. The game itself is still excellent but I don't remember the disc version having technical issues.

I get frame hitching quite often and these occasionally (maybe once a session) lead to hard crashes that mean I have to restart the PS3. If it were on current hardware I'd probably stop playing but I'm running this on an old dusty PS3 that hasn't been treated well so I'm not too bothered and will persevere.

I want to get this done before Mafia III comes out later this week so will be rushing through pretty much just the story. Enjoying it so far though.
