Last day to purchase DSiWare on DSi hardware: DSiWare gems thread

All of the Art Style games are incredible, especially Pictobits! If you are a Nintendo fan then definitely pick that one up. Lots of NES throwbacks and music.

I didn't know this was a thing until today, do we know which games aren't transferable outside of Asphalt 4?
I second this question.

As someone who didn't particularly enjoy the DSi XL experience, I keep and play all my DSiWare games on the 3DS. It would be interesting to know if any of those:

Chronos Twins
Mighty Milky Way
Zenonia

aren't on the eShop (I would check myself, but I'm at work atm).

Great to see posters picking up some last minute games!

I don't think Trailblaze: Puzzle Incinerator (Flametail in North America) has been mentioned yet. It's a really rather good expansion of the square game in MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade and just (if I remember correctly) 500 points. I picked it up a month ago.

Hudson Soft also released shooting watch app which is a nice piece of throwaway entertainment to measure how fast you can mash a button in the name of shmups.

The ART STYLE games are all worth a look, I really enjoyed DIGIDRIVE (fantastic puzzler that feels really smart once it all clicks an you get in the zone), BOXLIFE, CODE/BASE10, and PICTOBITS. I never tried KUBOS or AQUIA though.

Primrose, Glow Artisan and Alt-Play: Jason Rohrer Anthology are a few curios that might interest some people, and there's also Konami-published Divergent Shift and Face Pilot.

Has anyone played SteamWorld Tower Defense?

Nintendo had a habit of naming nearly every DSiWare game they published something else in Europe/North America. It's just called "Number Battle" in NA.

List of non-transferable DSiWare titles:

Asphalt IV
Flipnote Studio
Let's Golf
Nintendo DSi Browser
Oregon Trail
Real Soccer 2009
Real Soccer 2010
SUDOKU MASTER
SUDOKU SENSEI
Sudoku Student

When the DSi Shop dies, these titles will most likely die with it.

I have a couple of unused old points cards still, I should probably just add them to my Wii account or something aye? I left them unused instead of dumping it all on my account when there was nothing at the time I wanted in case my Dad or someone else ever wanted to use them on their machines.

using it on the Wii Shop is a smarter move since you can just buy DSiWare on your 3DS with regular cash instead if you really do still find something.

if you have "a couple" you would be wasting a lot of points on the DSi Shop unless you buy everything people recommend right now.

Yea, I'll just keep them for Wii as I think I got pretty much everything DSi I wanted awhile ago.

Probably best just to use them on Wii now in case they drop the ability to add them there too at some point and I forget about them lol.

I don't think it's possible to buy AlphaBounce. I looked into this thanks to old GAF threads a few months back when they announced DSiWare was going away, and it seems the publisher changed or went away or something... the game cannot be bought any longer.

Was DSi ever properly hacked, or will this be the last chance ever to get DSiWare games onto a DSi?

There is currently not a way to play DSiWare backups, so if you want them on your system, you should buy them.

Shoutout to Ars Technica's Kyle Orland for running a piece urging people to preserve some DSiWare before it's too late. And for linking to this very thread! A rather nice surprise - been reading Ars for nine years and counting.

Sadly Divergent Shift was delisted a while back.
And I don't think that game exists on any other platform unless anyone knows otherwise. :(

Loading up the last of my money now.

Countdown to 5pm Pacific which is when money can't be loaded anymore per their notice:

OK. I spent £27 on 3000 points. May they furnish my yellow DSi XL well. I figure it's 6x500 games.

BOUGHT (doubling up from my 3DS)
Sujin Taisen: Number Battles
Wakugumi: Monochrome Puzzle

SHORTLIST
Metal Torrent
Face Pilot
Link N' Launch
?

ALREADY HAVE
Reflect Missile

CAN'T FIND
Divergent Shift (actually, no Konami games)
A Kappa's Trail

Is A Kappa's Trail US only? I still want that one but I don't find it on the store
Yes. Sucks to be European.

Pictobits, if you don't already have it and like Tetris-like games. Artstyle: Boxlife is great, too. Any of the WayForward games...

Edit: Bummer about Divergent Shift. That looks like a lot of fun...

Already had a decent library but I know I needed a few more.
Loaded $80 worth and have my list made out. Will download them later.

I believe I still have this game on my DSi (I never transferred it because I didn't want a not-very-good game taking up space on my SD card...I think, it's possible it wasn't transferable and i'm remembering things wrong). This thread has really brought me back: I remember reading about how that game was made by an art student and thinking about how potent a digital future would be on handheld.

As for why it's not up, the likeliest answer is that Konami is Konami.

If I buy stuff on the DSi does it let me download it on 3DS? Not sure how it would know it's the same account. I have 1000pts I have to figure out what to do with still :/
