Let's Talk About PlayStation VR: List of Upcoming Titles

Everything I hear about Here They Lie makes me want it more, but I'm still worried that the feel of being present in a nightmare world might be too much for my fragile sanity.

If there's a demo in the EU store I'll give in a try first. If not I might just have to man up and buy it.

Same here! I can barely play some even mostly action (light) horror games like RE on a regular TV, I'm not sure I could handle it in VR lol.

Yeah, if they don't at least post the demo on the EU store you might be able to download it from the US one since it's on the US demo disc.

Is there a list somewhere of games for PSVR that work without the VR component? Some of the games look good, but I don't have enough money for VR.

So is Eve Valkyrie a full priced game? I wasn't sure because I can't see it on Amazon UK or the PlayStation store currently, or is it digital only and just isn't up yet?

It's on Amazon US as a full priced game, so it'll probably go up for physical release on Amazon UK too.

Eagle Flight and Star Trek: Bridge Crew are up for pre-order on the EU PlayStation Store.

Eagle Flight is priced at £34.99 and is out on the 8th November.

Star Trek is priced at (brace yourselves) £49.99 and is out on the 29th November.

49.99!?! Damn!!

Yeah, PSN prices are always high, but this is a surprise. It sounds like it's a full game, rather than a short experience. The details box mentions a "dynamic storyline" main campaign, along with a procedurally generated "ongoing missions" mode.

Odd that the info boxes for the new additions list compatible peripherals now. For Star Trek it says:
PS camera required (no surprise there)
PS move optional (good news)
Navigation/wireless controller required (what? DS4 required is expected, but nav is useable instead of DS4?)
PS VR required (obviously)

Eagle Flight says the same, except that move isn't supported.

Baffled by nav support: I guess if something like EF doesn't need a tracked controller and two sticks you can fly one-handed with a nav.

Weird.

I'm tempted.

It sounds like it's set in the reboot universe, as there's a reference to finding a new homeworld for the Vulcans.

So sadly no 7of9.

Heh, yeah, just on the hype video with the star trek stars lol. Maybe some Voyager dlc later if it sells well enough? lol

The bridge looks kind of based on the new movies as well, I don't mind that I like the new movies, especially the first and third ones.

Like many been kind of dreaming of something like this for Star Trek on some level for ages since growing up with many of the shows.

Ok guys, it's finally October.

Let's vote for the OT Title Winner

Real just got shit.

Easily.

Star Trek's a full game and $60 here (47.99 w/prime), not sure why that's "bizarre pricing."

While I'm not doubting you, how do you know star trek is a full game? Is there more info about now? I saw the video with the star trek cast which looked cool but not seen anything since

Out the same day as ff15 as well? Jeez my wife is gonna kill me lol

Admittedly you're right there's not a ton of proof yet that it'll be deep enough with enough stories to truly be considered a full game in terms of length but there are a number of articles like this who played the demo and then talked to the Ubisoft staff making the game and Ubisoft isn't some small publisher that I think won't get a ton of flack and negative press for trying to sell something overly short at full game price while something like the Batman game is going for just $20:
http://www.cnet.com/news/star-trek-bridge-crew-hands-on/

And notes like this:

  • Coming out of warp into the middle of a giant debris field, the wreckage of a space station in front of a sun about to go nova, is one of the coolest things I've seen in VR so far. And to think that Ubisoft is pitching this as a full game, one with a story, makes my inner Star Trek fan squeal with joy. I just hope Ubisoft has enough depth and enough scenarios to keep it entertaining for a good long while.
  • While there'll only be four roles -- captain, helm, tactical, engineering -- at launch, there might be more later. Ubisoft narrowed it down to the current roles to make sure each player would be constantly communicating and always had something to do.
  • Though the game's premise is that the Aegis is on a mission to find a new homeworld for the displaced population of Vulcan, that's "just the launching point for the story."
  • In addition to the story, you can randomly generate missions as well.
  • You can play with AI instead of friends with VR headsets, if need be. They'll respond to basic commands and issue basic status updates, and you can jump into their roles temporarily. (Edit: Clearly I assume this will be playable online so you don't need multiple people with headsets and systems like in the Star Trek stars video, if you do want to play multiplayer)
  • Tate says each crewman's station also has advanced features that have yet to be revealed.
  • Combat isn't the focus of the game. "Combat is an essential part of Star Trek, but it's never the point of anything you're doing. It's always the thing getting in the way," says Tate. Instead, expect exploration missions, rescue missions, and more to be revealed later this year.

Thank you for the info :)

New Trailer for Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes my PSVR launch game for my family and me :)

I may have to get this as a party game. Any word on pricing? Kinda hope they start putting titles up on the EU store soon so I can get an idea what kind of games I will be willing to pay for day 1. I realise I am already paying £350 so the odd £10 shouldn't make a difference but it all adds up, especially with PS pro around the corner.

I haven't been this excited about console hardware since I was a kid (I specified console coz I recently built a gaming pc after 8 years out of the game. The day my parts turned up was glorious)

With the unboxings, I'm guessing that about now is when most outlets are getting their final, review units and games. So we can hopefully expect extended previews or reviews to begin within the next week or so.

Yep, most sites who are getting one, already got the PSVR media units. Ours came in yesterday, if I'm not mistaken. It's honestly quite surprising how many games there are at launch. We won't be able to review every game -- at least not initially.

Embargo for all stuff (hardware and software reviews) lifts October 5. So prepare for a lot of PSVR info this coming week. :)

Out of those I like No Preorder Cancelled if only because 10 people cancel their preorders in every thread.
And you're going to invite even more people to come into thread to say that they indeed canceled their pre-order so the thread title isn't accurate.

I think there is no reason to invite additional noise to the naturally occurring noise on GAF.

By the way that Star Trek game isn't 'just' a PSN game, it's a retail release as well. So that explains the price a bit better.

Hmm good point. Well I can't say I care much for the other titles. Joke titles tend to get real old in my opinion, simple is better. And expletives in titles and references to Trump both rub me the wrong way.

My local Walmart has some PS VR accessories for sale already (PS Move controller double pack).

Nothing too special but still neat to see the VR branding in the wild.

Ok I change my vote to welcome to the real world. I'm not sure I get it but it is inoffensive and unlikely to create more shitpositing .

Ah ok, cheers, I'll wait for it to go up then I guess.

I would agree it's bizarre more because we still don't know the full size of these games. It feels like most of these games have so far been shown with shorter experiences, I really have no idea how big half these are going to be.

I mean I'd love to get Bridge Crew as a Star Trek fan but I haven't seen anything past the video with the cast members and it doesn't fill me with hope for the rest of the games content.
