PS4 PRO 4K native games (will update the list everytime there is a new game)

Greetings. Everyone knows that the PS4 PRO will display games in 4k through checkerboard rendering mostly but there have been some games announced to include native 4K modes (meaning the Ultra High Definition resolution of 3840 x 2160) and some even at 60 FPS.
Each time a game is announced to support 4K natively on PS4, many users who weren't aware, are surprised since they didn't know the PS4 PRO is capable and think each time that the announced game is the first game to do so.
So I am making this list so everyone can read it and know about the games announced.
Please note that almost all if not all PS4 PRO games can be switched to different modes on PS4 PRO and on a 4K TV, i.e: to 1080p mode, or to 30 FPS checkerboard (from native 4K@30FPS) or to checkerboard/1080p mode with better graphics. I am not mentioning all modes here. I am just stating the native 4K mode and its FPS.
I will try to update the thread each time a new game is announced. Feel free to inform me and pm me about other games if I miss one in the fututre. Developers of games are welcome to post here to inform us about their achievements. Thanks

P.S: Whenever you find about a new game and post about it here, please write it in bold and underline it so I can spot it easily in your posts. And don't forget the source of the news. You can add apps that support PS4 PRO if you want.Thanks.

List of logical native 4K games, but not official (until devs officially develop the PS4 PRO version of the game: meaning those games may end up in the official list or just stay as regular PS4 games):

- Trine games (Native 4K@60FPS)? If devs support PS4 PRO. I am assuming this since Trine 2 could run in 4K@30FPS on regular PS4. "The PS4 PRO update may never come", but who knows
- VizionEck (Native 4K@60FPS)? Not officially announced on PS4 PRO yet because the developer Mike Armbrust doesn't have a PS4 Pro devkit yet but "but for a while it was running 4K native on standard PS4"

Apps which already started supporting 4K on PS PRO:

- Hulu
- Media Player
- Netflix (HDR)
- Youtube (HDR)

Subscribed. Man I wish I had a 4ktv to experience TLOU with HDR and 4K. Wew.

You are welcome. checkerboard rendering isn't that bad to start with (since it has different resolutions to choose from the panel and some resolutions are so close to native 4K) let alone 4K native. It will be a pleasure to the eyes.
I hope you get one; next year would be perfect if the TVs with dynamic metadata HDR get released.

Am really glad I held off on getting a PS4. I'll get a PRO sometime next year after there's a nice library of 4K games available to take advantage of my 4K TV. The jump from PS3 to PRO enabled 4K games is, I imagine, going to be something like a spiritual awakening for me.

In the meantime I'm more than happy with clearing my PS3/Vita backlog and collecting Platinums along the way.

It'll be interesting to see what the resolution differences between 30fps and 60fps modes of TLoU are. Would love it if that game could be used a reference for native vs checkerboard.

I would like to know if the 4K mode on PS4 PRO has the better shadows from the 30 FPS mode compared to 60 FPS mode on regular PS4.

Thanks very much.

Wait, Skyrim SE will be 4k native with the PS4 Pro?

Who is Leadbetter? A ND developer or an insider? You mean the PS4 PRO version has native 4K and the better shadows? Wow. Not to be missed at all.

Richard Leadbetter from Digital Foundry. He mentioned it at one point in the 30 minute video talking about his time at the PS Meeting.

I'm afraid this list will end up rather small. Didn't stop me from buying a KS8000 this past weekend in anticipation though 😃

I still want to know if this thing will output 1440p since that my monitor resolution

Dunno if that res is supported with PS4 PRO format. All we know that checkerboard rendering is either 1080x 2 or 1800p or 1880p or 1900p or 4K native 2160p

Does Fallout 4 not count for some reason? I'm guessing it doesn't since you knew Skyrim had it but didn't put in Fallout 4.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1289579

It isn't certain that is why I didn't include it. Skyrim Special Edition explicitely states:

Skyrim render in native 4k, and it looks better than ever

While Fallout 4:

We expect Fallout 4 to take advantage of the PS4 Pro in 4k along with enhanced lighting and graphics features.

Many assume it's just checkerboard rendering but who knows.

Is there a similar thread for PS4/Pro games that are supposed to support HDR? I haven't been able to find a comprehensive list, but that would be VERY helpful to me.

I thought all games which will support PS4 PRO will support HDR on both PS4 and PS4 PRO. The first example is Deus Ex Mankind Divided with the most recent update which added HDR for regular PS4 and PS4 PRO support.

If this is true, this is the first I'm hearing it. I was under the impression it was something developers had to specifically bake into their games.

Also: do we have any idea how good the upscaler is supposed to be? Will it be demonstrably better than the one built into my TV?

Kaako

Felium Defensor
Yaas Infinite @ native 4K 60fps. The world ain't ready.
Area X in PSVR. What a time to be alive.

You mean the HDR upscaler for TVs without built-in HDR? I don't know but Samsung and Sony said all TVs from 2015 will support HDR through updates and all the new TVS from 2016 will support HDR with dynamic metadata through updates too. I don't know know if anyone made the comparison
.

Yeah, can't wait to see these directly on my TV to see them for real.

Do you mean the checkerboard "upscaling"? Even for good TVs the checkerboard improved internal rendering should be a ton better than even a good TV upscaler because it's different from upscaling and because the starting rez will be over 1080p, reportedly often at least 1800p. :)

Will physical games that are released after the PS4 PRO support 4K right from the disc, or will everything require an extra download to get this working?

Supporting a Pro mode is supposedly a requirement after it comes out so games from that point forward presumably need to include a Pro mode on the disc in order pass without requiring a patch like some of the older games are getting. Though I suppose since it's up to devs how to take advantage of the power that some could give some kind of Pro mode on the disc and then work on a new one for a patch.

Yes, I did mean that! I didn't realize the technique they were using was so different from a regular upscaler like the one built into my LG 4K (50UH5500, for those wondering).

Also: that's an 8-bit display that is able to "process" HDR10 images thanks to LG's HDR Pro technology, but according to some people in TV GAF, it's unable to "fully display" HDR10. It will still look better though, right?

I want to know upgrades for:
- Kingdom Hearts 2.8
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake

If they add 60 fps for the Pro, I might be tempted. If they just increase the res and add some effects, then I'll stick with the PS4 basic.

planning on getting a pro but still working on getting a decent 40 inch television. And i was looking for and excuse to visit skyrim again and this time in 4k? why not?

Even before that. All games releasing after October the 1st are required to have PS4 PRO features which means even the ones preceding the release of the PS4 PRO?

So far the games released this week are Wheels Of Aurelia (which supports PS4 PRO in 4K natively) and those : https://blog.eu.playstation.com/201...-times-vermintide-new-rainbow-6-dlc-and-more/

I hope those games have PS4 PRO features.
What AAA games will get released between October the 1st and the launch of PS4 PRO?

Yep. I f you have a TV that supports HDR10 natively then your picture will look much better.
