Can someone on a map show me where artists alley is. I looked at a dealer map today and couldn't see it anywhere.

It's not on the show floor with the exhibitors - all the way on the right side of the building down a long hallway from the front entrance.

Thinking of foolproof directions... if you're looking at the Javits overview map, the green area is actually the ground floor. So if you walk in through the main doors and you're in the area where there are multiple escalators that go up into the exhibition floor and multiple ones going down to the panel/autograph area, that's the green area. You just need to walk all the way to the right. You'll walk through a red passageway ("walkway" on the map) and that'll take you to Javits North, which houses AA.

Guys, it's less than 12 hours away!

Odds on a Iron Fist trailer coming out of it should be extremely high right?

I wonder if Lego is bringing any exclusives

So, I stand corrected. Lego is actually doing a traditional booth, displaying upcoming product and such.

There's a video on facebook where they tour the booth. Exclusive figure is Batgirl from their new DC Super Hero Girls line. Not sure if there's any exclusive sets.

Odds on a Iron Fist trailer coming out of it should be extremely high right?

They're still filming so if we're getting a trailer, it'll be similar to the teaser at San Diego. We're probably just going to be shown one or two full scenes.

Artist alley is through the tunnel on the first floor all the way to the right.

Man, I've been too busy and busy with other stuff that I haven't planned NYCC at all. Gonna be solo for the beginning of the event tomorrow, what's the best stuff to do?
Was planning on just getting swag and checking artist alley etc that other friends might not wanna do other days.
Never tried any panels or anything before but I'm interested.
Definitely go check out Artist Alley and grab swag. I made a huge list of artists I want to go check out to keep myself on track. The rest I will play by ear and approach if their art stands out to me. Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda is high on my list since she's got Junot Díaz's seal of approval. It would be cool to get a copy of Monstress signed by them. If you want to attend panels, make a list of panels you want to attend and note the times.

What Fallegorn said. Some kind of teaser at best if anything. Trailer maybe but not likely.

I'm going to try not to break my damn wallet since I'm trying to save up a percentage of money every month but definitely thinking of hitting up the Bamco booth to get a few things and possibly the Marvel booth. I'll discuss it with my friends to see what's hot. Otherwise, I love supporting creator owned comics as Artist Alley is my favorite area.

I might be wearing a Final Fantasy lanyard or last year's NYCC exclusive lanyard as opposed to my "veteran" lanyard that's a memento of my first year working at PAX East. Definitely will be alternating lanyards all weekend.

Speaking of which, a quick word on lanyards: If you don't like the default one which is Yu-Gi-Oh this year, bring one in to stand out from the crowd. Exhibitors will be giving out lanyards left and right. Generally, the thicker ones are sold by the merch booth or other exhibitors.

Any gaffes there already? How are ethereal lines so far? I'm on the ferry now so it'll be awhile til i get there.

The queue hall seems more crowded than it was at this time last year. But it's not bad. Nothing compared to Saturday where you have to wait in line outside just to get inside.

I woke up several minutes ago. Will be in by around 11ish roaming the show floor collecting swag before dumping it off and going to Artist Alley for a bit. My shift starts in the afternoon so I'll be around.

Gonna go up to the show floor after I deposit some cash in the ATM. I'm currently at 1D. Wearing a yellow bandana over my neck and a blue Star Trek shirt.

Heard and saw vids of people bum rushing to the Toy Tokyo booth.

Yeah... I picked up a Lying Cat statuette and lugged it around for most of the day. Luckily, I met an artist buddy and he's holding it for me at his table.

Phew. Had to leave for the day at 4, getting up at like 6 and having a giant comic textbook in your bag all day kinda wears on you.

Worth it tho.

Fun fact said:

Tomorrow is Taku Takahashi and TeddyLoid at Funimation. Got my Panty and Stocking OST CD and Japan Animator Expo CD ready for them. Also tomorrow night, Screen Junkies live! Oh yeah, and the Yusei Matsui autograph for Assassination Classroom. Yisssss.

Saturday, I hope I get into that Iron Fist first look. If people are gonna be squatting their seats at the Madison Square Garden Theater all day for Walking Dead, then I don't think I'll make it to the John Wick 2 first look. Just wait for the trailer then.

Was it easy to get a ticket for the paid Stan Lee signing?

For the paid one, you just have to get in line before they cut it off, and then they take your $100 and give you the autograph ticket when you're almost at the table.

They had NYCC people body-blocking attendees in line from taking pictures of Stan, which is kinda hilarious, and I guess makes sense too.

Favorite pick-ups for today, I think I've done most of the main floor today. Some clean up tomorrow and still wrestling whether or not to line up for the Resident Evil movie panel....
Where'd you pick up the Hannibal cookbook? Was going to pick it up sometime for a Christmas gift.

My immune system couldn't fight off my boyfriend's cold AND all the germs at NYCC. Gonna have to cosplay while sick.

What time do you guys expect or suggest to get there so you can line up for the first few panels ? I know doors open at 10 so reach the javits and wait online by 9am?

I missed last year. Can't wait to go this year even more so now.

Anyone? The first panel I wanna go to starts at 10:30. Getting there by 8:30 should be good?

Nice, how much was the omnibus? Also where does the free ticket drawing take place anyway? Thanks!

Also, If anyone's going to toy Tokyo and doesn't want the green ranger, I'll pick it up and give you some extra! Want to get it for my bro who couldn't make it this year.

Didn't get much today. Some xmen books signed by J Scott Campbell - more strict this year. Usually no line and he would sign everything for free. Some tokidoki shirts for wifey and spidey crate for the bro. Gonna go hard tomorrow and get something for myself finally. Maybe some art or toys.

That sounds all right I suppose. Good luck with that! Lines won't be queued up officially until folks working the are give the signal. If you see a sea of peeps bum rushing again, it's all for Toy Tokyo wristbands since I imagine that most of the folks want to hawk it on eBay.

How do autographs work? I would like to get an autograph by the Stranger Things crew (Brown and Harbour) so how early should I arrive to the session? I wanted to get my friend an autograph too, is it possible to buy two or is their a limit?

John DiMaggio is the other one I really want an autograph of.

It felt pretty crowded for a Thursday, honestly, but I can't tell how much of that was people stopping in the center of aisles abruptly and crossing the pathways without looking where they were going. People not being aware of their surroundings immediately makes those spaces feel smaller.

Didn't actually explore much of the Show Floor yesterday because my friend is coming in today and I figured we could do that together. I feel like the crowds are less annoying when it feels like an exploration together instead of a shopping trip.

Yesterday I got there right at 10 and it took a little over 30 minutes getting then. It's going to be more crowded today.

I would think 8:30 would be fine, but it's hard to say. Make sure you're aware that you generally enter from a different door than the usual one if you're in the first group, so you might be a bit disoriented.

I believe you show up to the autograph hall at the start of the day and get access to autograph sessions. Last year it was totally fucked and they were only giving out one wristband for every session that day, so that it was basically impossible to get one. They've changed a lot of things like that for the better this year though so it might be improved. Probably individual sign ups with your badge's RFID but there's a chance you can only sign up for one session per day.

Going today for the first time. I don't usually hit up cons very often with the exception of my yearly trips to PAX East and West. What's there to do at Comic Con aside from panels?

Ok, thanks! It looks like that's at 1B, so I'll go there first thing (hopefully I can find it easy). I have a friend with me who can get the second autograph if need be, but I just hope I have a chance to get one. I didn't see a way to pre-purchase signatures, and the Stranger Things photo op was sold out. :/

I may not make it to the center until 10:30. On a train now and have to go drop my luggage off at a hotel. I know Brown and Harbour's first sessions are at 12:15 at Table 15.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah I'm so extra disoriented since I missed last years and I have my friends ticket who I gotta find in a few minutes. But I'm extremely excited to go once again!

You have some gaming areas. Played BF1 yesterday. It was on pc. TekKen 7, they had a Resident evil area for capcom. Check out Artist Alley. Prepare for a lot of walking and picture taking.

Is Gears 4 there? Always wanted to meet Rod Fergusson (even if that game was, he still might not be there).

I think you needed to make an appointment for Brown (and maybe Harbour). A friend of mine going today is getting her autograph and had to reserve a time beforehand.

Oh gosh, I hope not. I didn't even see a place to make reservations -- and I checked a month or so ago (only saw the photo op but I wasn't sure if I wanted that at the time). The NYCC site isn't very good though. It said autographs were cash only so I assumed you just got in line there too. :/
