I swear if this is some online focused thing I think I may die out of boredom.
As I said earlier, GTAV was revealed earlier due to the loss made by L.A.Noire and first impressions of Max Payne 3. Before that they liked to stick to a year run up to new game releases, and expressed interest in getting back to that.

I was told around E3 time that they already announced one, but didn't show the trailer because there was shooting in a bar and this was right after that shooting that happened in Florida so they pulled it.

That's what I'm hoping. They have 8 current studios under Rockstar Games on Wikipedia and other than the GTAO content drip over the last few years, they've all been radio silent since 2013 and GTAV. Lots of work went into the next gen GTAV engine, but they didn't have to redo all the work that went into the script/va/map design/overall game design/etc so they had a lot of folks able to work on the next stuff.
I think they could announce a RDR remaster because if they already have the script/va/map design/overall game design/etc stuff done from the first game (even though the code is a mess), a remaster is like total conversion mod for GTAV, and they'd need new character art/buildings/tumbleweeds anyway for the new game, so get 2 games out of the same assets.

However, the guy third from left does have the right hat for John Marston...

The Sony conference leak that was all over Twitter had 2 games at the end, but they only showed 1. Everything else in the leak was perfect. That's when people guessed RDR3.

Neither of those look alike at all. Rolled up sleeves aren't exactly an uncommon thing. The way they're rolled up isn't the same, the hat is completely different, there are pouches on the side that aren't on the other outfit etc. As for the other person, other than the hat being folded slightly it's still entirely different.
Trying to guess who the characters could be based on a vague silhouette of non-iconic non-unique clothing and commonplace fashion choices that aren't in any way limited to that person seems really silly.

Though I hope it isn't a prequel, the silhouettes look absolutely similar and like they may be simple artistic prequel redesigns here and there

of course all they did is remove the Rockstar logo and add the silhouette image.
WHAT IF...tomorrow's teaser image adds "RED DEAD" above the silhouette image? then wednesday's teaser adds "R******" to complete the title???

Makes sense, but as Fowler says you should do the silhouette comparison with the third cowboy from the left. More likely to be Marston.
It will be amazing if a young John Marson is a secondary character in this game. Love that shit.
Ehm, the rumor is it's a prequel to RDR so it's probably a few years before Redemption, who says he can't change his hat? just because he doesn't wear exactly the same stuff doesn't mean it's not the same person.
Man it's happening... I just hope we continue to get a robust single player experience from Rockstar. But I got faith in them so I'm not too worried. I hope we get to be in a gang robbing banks and trains, similar to GTAV's heists. And I wouldn't be disappointed if it was Dutch's gang.
I am in the same boat. Social media company accounts love to post about past products, a easy nostalgia trip to keep brand "relevant".

Yup. This reminds me of that brief period of time where certain parts of the internet saw the Game Informer cover for GTAV and half convinced itself that Michael, Trevor and Franklin were actually the III, Vice City and San Andreas protagonists decades later.

Hmmmm, had doesn't match...rest of body does on John.
Maybe the feather in John's hat in RDR belongs to the native character, and he wears it in memory of something important we don't know about......
(did the feather have a story already?...haha) My story memory for RDR is a bit foggy.
Looks right to me. It might be Dutch's gang - but if John Marston is the playable character again you can see why they'd put him in the middle of the poster.
