I would be so pissed if this game has anything to do with John Marston.

Great character but I definitely don't think I need to see a prequel of him doing crummy shit with his crummy gang

Has Rockstar ever done a remaster? It doesn't seem to be something they've ever shown any interest in, outside of a few comments they've made about being open to GTA remasters that haven't ever happened. If somehow RDR was the one they were going to start with, I feel like they wouldn't have allowed it to be put up on the Xbox One BC list. It just doesn't make sense given their history.

Bully Scholarship Edition

And GTA5, technically

Bully on the 360 and Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 & XB1 could both be considered as remasters.

I agree. Love John and his story, but I don't really need to see him back in the past. His character had a tremendous impact. I highly doubt it would be duplicated. Especially if his voice isn't going to be the same.

Bully sure, I'm not so sure I'd call GTAV a remaster though.

You could say San Andreas for PS3/360, which was a mobile port, but I wouldn't call those remasters.

I'd love an RDR remake for PS4/XB1/PC because it's the only Rockstar game I've ever liked, which I also love.

Highly doubt they'll do a remaster.

One a year or two down the road would be fine, but all the focus should be on the new Red Dead. Just like how Skyrim Remaster is coming a year after Fallout 4 so it wouldn't eat into that game's sales.

The PS4 version of Last of Us (a PS3 game released in 2013) is called Last of Us: Remastered.

Maybe you have some additional criteria it'd need to meet, but I'd say GTA V absolutely is a remaster when it comes to PS4/XB1/PC versions.

Neither of those look alike at all. Rolled up sleeves aren't exactly an uncommon thing. The way they're rolled up isn't the same, the hat is completely different, there are pouches on the side that aren't on the other outfit etc. As for the other person, other than the hat being folded slightly it's still entirely different.

Trying to guess who the characters could be based on a vague silhouette of non-iconic non-unique clothing and commonplace fashion choices that aren't in any way limited to that person seems really silly.

It is almost as if they can't wear different outfits or have spruced up detail and touches over the graphics of almost 10 years ago. ;)

Definitely Bill Williamson. But I don't think the one in the middle is Marston, and the hat doesn't match. It's Dutch's gang, so he should be the one in the middle, not Marston.

However, the guy third from left does have the right hat for John Marston...

Agreed with this.

It is Dutch's Gang. This appears to be a prequel, the 'cowboy era' was coming to an end fast with Redemption to be a sequel.

Maybe they're going back in time for this one? A little more "taming the wild west" and less "The death of the old west" type of story?
Yeah, I'm positive it'll be set earlier. Redemption ended in 1914, so there's not much room after that for another game if they're making another classic western.

You and me both! SO invested in that world already. Hopefully a new red dead isn't that far about. Would be great timing.

Thinking late spring 2017 though.

I could handle that!
I watched Westerns this weekend- Once Upon a Time in the West, Unforgiven... can't wait for the new Red Dead.

I'm really shocked at people wanting to play as John Marston still... I'm praying it's a completely different cast.

Me too. It's part of the Rockstar charm getting to know new places, characters and conflict.

A prequel with John Marston would already be pretty locked in term of main characters, the conflict, who's leader of the gang, etc. It sets some limits on what's possible. We would already know the conflict that John Marston have to go through and we would already know where it ends.

Except, you know, people were guessing that particular silhouette was that particular character based on the clothes even though they would be different. So what i was getting at is that assuming that silhouette could be that certain character and using their clothes as part of the reasoning does not make a lot of sense.

How about;

Also, I'm personally hoping this isn't a prequel. Or if it is, that it at least isn't focused around Marston. I want new places and stories.

Exactly. Plus, the wonderful thing about Redemption was that it still felt like Marston had a significant backstory without even experiencing it as the player. You could already feel the weight of it because of how the story was told.

I'll still play the hell out of this if it's a prequel with Dutch's gang, but I'd prefer it to not be about them.
