Mainstream media that has nothing to do with gaming are doing articles about the NX reveal tomorrow! :') Yup. Any kind of new hardware always reaches mainstream media.

Well there was GTA Chinatown Wars for DS but yeah, aside from that they dont ever touch Nintendo stuff lol.

GTA Chinatown Wars came out on DS.

I'm talking specifically about consoles. They released Bully and Manhunt 2 on the Wii, but their big franchise open-world crime games have never appeared on a Nintendo console. That's why it would be such a big deal for RDR2 to release on the NX.

That means literally nothing. You don't think it'll come to the PC eventually? And I'm not saying it is going to come to NX, but there have been other game announcements (at least one for sure) where the reveal trailer said "Nintendo NX" at the bottom with all the platforms it would come out for and they got blasted for it and quickly put up a new trailer without the NX logo in it. So while it's not probable that RDR2 will come out for NX, it's not impossible and the platform name not being in the press release is certainly not any kind of proof.

I was responding to a poster that said "Red Dead 2 exclusive to NX would destroy the planet". That's why I said it's not going to happen. Rockstar just announced it for the PS4 and Xbox One on Tuesday, they aren't suddenly going to announce tomorrow that they were just bullshitting and it's actually exclusive to the NX.

I just hope the OS and apps load much faster. I updated my 3DS to get the Pokemon demo and updated the Badge Arcade app and their load times were insane

l just hope we get a glimpse of other games beside Zelda. The Wii U trailer had short clips from NSMBU, Nintendoland and the Zelda demo so l hope they'll do something like that tomorrow.

I mean it's possible, but I cannot imagine Rockstar willingly working with Nintendo for any length of time. Also RDR just isn't all that big a deal outside of the core enthusiasts like us. If it were GTA6 that's another matter, but RDR2 isn't the killer app many of us wish it were.

It would more be symbolic of potentially repaired third party relations than anything else, which would actually be quite important and exciting.

Also recall that a GTAV Wii U port was in consideration for a while.

Gonna take this moment to compliment you on being the most pleasant NX hype user imo. <3

Awww hype hugs! <3

Really curious to see how the detachable controller stuff might come into play.

Same. I really hope they make that clear as day in the trailer. So many possibilities have been speculated about based on rumors and patents... I can't wait to see what Nintendo is actually doing with the controls. Could make or break the system, really.

Low expectations:

What I expect because it's so close to launch:
1. A price point
2. A proper name (NX is still a cool name tho)
3. 1 - 2 games to demonstrate console/idea.
4. Maybe we get to see both the controller AND the system?

And most importantly:

Even if you'd use a traditional controller in docked mode, the hybrid nature of the system means you should be able to play the game of the go, with potentially only the tablet.

And I don't see third party developers developing for this kind of gimmick: two versions of the games (in graphical fidelity I mean), two ways to play it, it's a huge headache.

You're starting to see why I think this hybrid console would be Nintendo flipping off the finger to third party devs ?

More than the Pro and the Scorpio???

RDR shipped 14 million copies. I think you underestimate R*'s appeal.

According to the people who actually, legitimately have info, that's so that people don't see it as a "handheld with tv out" and rather a home gaming system that happens to be portable.

Don't think it will work though, we 2 savvy.

Yeah, it won't work. I can call a pair of headphones an amazing "home audio" device, but it's still a pair of headphones at the end of the day.

Concerning the supposed dev kit leak - why isn't there an SD card slot or USB ports on it? I took to Google, and both the 3DS and WiiU dev kits have an SD card slot. The WiiU has USB ports. With the unit having ethernet, HDMI, etc actually attached via the "hump", it looks like it is supposed to literally be the entire dev kit. For reference, both the WiiU and 3DS kits had an actual 3DS / WiiU tablet attached to the box with a very large cable for communication. My point to all of this - how do you get actual code onto the dev unit? There appears to be a game card slot... but nothing else. Not saying the pic is fake or real, just find the lack of data options odd.

Also, with Laura on twitter saying the official specs will be released by the end of the month... could the NX actually have something to gloat about? Nintendo isn't known for spec dumps. Could they have put enough horsepower under the hood that they are going to use the "power angle" as a marketing tool? I can't remember the last time Nintendo did that. And yes, I have been following all the news about Parker, etc. It's just a very un-Nintendo like thing for them to do. Cautiously optimistic.

This actually looks like the same device, even the power and volume buttons are in the same place, and there's a strange hole (a mic maybe?) also in the same place on both:

Yeah, that arched my eyebrow, too. Though I'm not putting much stock into it.

Apparently so its thought of as console games you can take on the go rather than portable games you can play on the TV

Not all that surprising to me, as I've been saying for months that Nintendo will market this primarily as a home console that can be taken on the go in the West. In Japan, it'll probably be more heavily advertised as a portable.

Honestly, I'm excited no matter what the focus is in the Handheld vs Console aspect.

Ever since my mom passed away in July I've been strangely obsessed with NX news and speculation. Like it was taking my mind off of everything. And now that's over and I dunno what the heck I'm gonna replace it with but I'm excited anyway!
