Four ARM Cortex-A57 cores, max 2GHz
NVidia second-generation Maxwell architecture
256 CUDA cores, max 1 GHz, 1024 FLOPS/cycle
4GB RAM (25.6 GB/s, VRAM shared)
32 GB storage (Max transfer 400 MB/s)
USB 2.0 & 3.0
1280 x 720 6.2" IPS LCD
1080p at 60 fps or 4k at 30 fps max video output
Capcitance method, 10-point multi-touch

Incredibly disappointing if true. Maybe the dock has more RAM? And why have USB 2.0 at all?

You can get 128gb SD cards for like 30€ nowadays - so i dont think storage will be an issue. Though you might have to transfer between system flash and sd card for transfer speed reason - guess we will have to wait for more information.

I wonder what the chances are of Nintendo including them in the system like they do with the 3DS?

Switch will probably have 32GB internal memory for the OS/system and a packed in 32GB SD card, which you can swap out, like the DSi and the 3DSes. The dock will support external HDDs like the WiiU does.

prerelease dev kits are often underpowered compared to launch hardware

remember when people were making xbox 360 games on g5 mac pros?

This. Current devkits might be using Maxwell for the moment but the launch might be Pascal.

Pretty good specs for a handheld; usb 3.0, expandable memory with sd cards, 4k 30fps video output.

Also, has anyone noticed the (air?) vents on top of the handheld? Could there also be vents on the bottom, or even on the back? If yes, can this mean higher clock-speeds when in docked mode (dock may house the fan)?

Pascal is basically Maxwell II but shrunk down to 16nm. I don't believe there's any major architectural differences.

Final devkit may not be much different. Maybe they bumped up the clocks.

I'd say these specs are true to an extent. It's Dev Kit Specs, and not production. 32GB is fine. games are on carts and i'm going to guess memory will be expandable

People complaining about 32GB on board.

1. Expandable storage with SD cards
2. No installs. Everything will load from the cartridges so they won't be needed. And patches will probably go onto the cartridges too.

Do you have any idea how big some patches are these days?

Oh you people, get a reality check. If real, this is spec'd like a high-end phone, cuts needed to be made somewhere to make it not $600, notably the screen for performance, battery-life and cost. eMMC currently doesn't go higher than about 256GB and it's really expensive, solid state drives are too large with the form-factor. So it was going to be between 32 and 128GB, the latter is still somewhat expensive (again noting the above). 64GB is doable and I wouldn't be surprised if they price tier, if not at launch, later on. You're going to be SD dependent in portable mode, docked it can probably use HDDs but there might be some awkward syncing if you pull it out, it's just the limitation of technology right now.

32GB included storage is no problem to me, hell I'd rather it that way. I'm sure pretty much everyone owns an extra HDD or SD card by now, and even if you don't they're not too expensive to go out and get one with a massive amount of storage space nowadays. That's a much better option then being forced to pay for a larger included HDD at a higher markup. I like giving the freedom of savings/choice to the consumer, maybe I'm crazy though.

Reminder that two weeks ago she was adamant that Nvidia was never involved.

Those are some pretty bad specs, though, other than the decent-ish GPU. And 20nm explains the poor battery life. I really don't think this true, though.

32GB is terrible of true. Should be 128GB at least.

Keep price of entry down, allow expansion with SD cards for those that want it. Also hopefully external USB HDD support on the dock

Any rumours whether the dock has extra sauce? Or maybe just clocks up the built in GPU and ramps the fan up?

Touch screen is odd - can only be used when portable.

Considering there are supposedly dev kit specs, which usually have significantly more RAM than the actual system, 4GB points to it only having as much as the Wii U (albeit faster), but still I'd expect more

32GB is perfectly fine, we'll be surly able to use SD to expand it, and thankfully those things are getting bigger, faster and cheaper every month. What i'm happy to see is that this main storage has a 400 MB/s read speed, which is pretty decent, they must be using some decent eMMC, that speed will hopefully allow fast booting of the system and also fast loading time whithin the OS menu, something I really need since 3DS is so slow to me to navigate
