Actually the Lambda Driver gets nerfed in the later novels.
It's a super robot technique that the show treats as if it was real which in of itself is very cool.
Don't forget the OVA
Is the OVA dubbed? Cause I actually really liked the FMP dubs.
I was on this ship until she burned it down herself in later novels. SMH, there comes a point where ruthlessness doesn't equate rationality but insanity.
Mao is great, with a subdued character arc throughout the novel while Chidori is surprisingly fun given I disliked her initially. Shame Tessa.

I don't know if we're getting anything else for the animation. There will be a Gunpla-esque figure for the Arbalest if anyone is interested in that.

If you've got big money though, this Metal Build figure is the ultimate rendition of Laevatein. Supreme in quality and detail, about twice as tall as the first fig.
