From the Steam News

Please note that if you do not complete your Skyrim + all DLC bundle until October 28th, your free upgrade to Skyrim Special Edition may take up to 36 hours to apply to your account.

I know it isn't the 28th yet, but it may still take time.

What the Legendary Editions adds for PC users? On consoles I know it adds modds and better IQ, but what about PC?

64bit for newer and better mods.

Shadows are fixed - some mods got close, but were hella taxing. Preview footage seems to show the jaggy shadows being resolved.

The facebook like button is doing nothing it seems.
Yeah, how do you get the voucher?

I have zero recollection of ever buying the expansions but apparently I have them and the Anniversary Edition is pre-loading, neat.

This is so tempting but I already played the shit out of this game on 360, I wonder if it is worth getting just for the DLC.

My preload is available, I'm going to wait for SKSE to be updated though, this game feels lacking without Frostfall, iNeed and Wildcat combat.

If it isn't working, try restarting Steam and see if it shows up in your library. I put in my code right after starting it and it worked fine.

Is this a legitimate key seller? Just wondering, never used this before

Tried to buy from them the last time this deal came up. The transaction went through as normal, then they said they needed a photo of my passport and my credit card (with the numbers blacked out) before they let me have the key. I told them that wasn't happening, and credit to them, they refunded my money. That said, I'll never consider buying from them (or G2A or Kinguin) again, after the stories I've read from developers.

This thing still isn't showing up for preload, but it looks like I'm fine on being tagged as having all of the DLC now. It won't let me buy those discounted packs on the new edition page.

Skyrim Special Edition for Owners of Skyrim and all Add Ons

We have started added Skyrim Special Edition to the libraries of customers who own Skyrim and all of its add-ons, and opened the game for pre-load for those users. Unfortunately, the process of adding the game to people's accounts is going a bit slower than we originally anticipated. If you already own Skyrim and all the DLC but you aren't seeing Special Edition in your Steam Library, don't panic! We should have it added to everyone's accounts within the next 24 hours, and then we will continue adding it to people who complete their collection in batches as we approach the Special Edition launch on Thursday.

Anyway, I'm glad this process is out of the way, now I wait on the mods. I doubt the price of Special Edition will drop below $10 any time soon. So I win on waiting for a price drop.

I thought the SE was just for the current consoles. What does SE add for PC users?

Tightened the graphics. Added more detail like folliage and rocks around environments. More dense folliage in existing places. If the remaster looked like how the game looked originally and we were now switching to the original, there'd already be several threads on the downgrade.

If you're asking if it'll work, probably. If you're asking if it's an authorized distributor like Amazon or GMG, no.

Crap, I didn't use paypal (I need to make an account one day), and I couldn't find the place to remove the billing info. I just read about them requiring some people to give the last 4 digits of their social to receive their codes, but thankfully now they seem to just need a phone number.

Pretty good deal. And nice timing, since I just made a personal commitment (first world problems blah blah etc) to actually finish these some open world WRPGs by going straight through the story, not getting sidetracked by collectathons or sidequests (unless they are on the way).

Fallout 4 engine ported into Skyrim + depth of field, god rays, better shaders, better water.

Fallout 4's engine was what Skyrim used already, though I do wish it looked as neat as Fallout 4's added shaders or whatever it is they added to post processing. It still look like the old engine, but it looks ever so nicer.

Just checked steam and its in my library now. Is it a completely separate to Vanilla skyrim? So if I preload it it won't interact with and fuck up my modded skyrim?

Yeah, even the nexus is separating the two versions when it comes to mods.

From everything I've heard yeah, Skyrim Special Edition is a different title from Skyrim 2011 with DLC on Steam. It's a good thing too because I hear mods will need updates to work with it rather than find the ones that don't work and remove them.

Man, a whole new age of remodding skyrim. I'm sure simple things will carry over, but I hope the elaborate gameplay overhaul mods make it ok. Skyre for example.

Why the fug do they ask for my phone no., national id, photograph for a 10$ game purchase?
Doesnt make sense, first time purchase with paypal here.

I'm so glad they only needed my phone number. Maybe that's all that was needed to take over my bank account including the billing info I sent D: Never messing with this site again though. unless GTA5 + all it's SP DLC are sold for $5 /s

I think they put in as much as they could, but the actual feel of the game should be a lot nicer with all the engine improvements seen in F4 along with it being 64 bit natively

I'm not sure I feel comfortable with this. Isn't this considered cheating? I think I'm sticking with my Special Edition PC version. The least we can do is encourage devs with our money to make more top notch remasters of good recent games.

Perfect. Good on them for doing it this way then since it will inevitably break most mods.

Will download it and see how it compares visually to my current modded setup.

Nope. They were going to give us the special edition for free if we already owned the original game + dlc. So I mean...not really.
