They're not officially announcing anything beyond the season pass yet however.

JeuxVideo - Original French said:
JVL : Allons-nous devoir payer pour endosser le rôle d’une héroïne comme Luna ou autre ?

SHY : Il y a clairement une demande en ce sens, et nous allons nous pencher dessus.

Stump Translation:

Interviewer: "Will we have to pay to play as a heroine, like Luna or someone else?"

FFXV DLC Producer: "There's clearly a demand for something like this, and [we'll look into it]"

I don't understand. The game is releasing in 31 days and they are just now considering a female playable character?

After the game is out.
And the reason why there is not playable female character is simply because the boys wouldn't
be able to be the boys if a gal was around, and when there's a girl involved they act completely different.

Just take a look at how off Noctis acts when he's around Iris.

Even then shouldn't they already know what they're gonna do for DLC at this point?

There's another question in the interview that makes it clear they're not even really sure what the multiplayer DLC is yet because they only started it a short time ago and might make a lot of changes.

Their plan is to keep releasing DLC as long as it makes (financial) sense to though, so I imagine there's going to be a lot of it that's not planned yet.

Sort of like with W3 but without the 2 expansions. If the DLC is profitable they'll keep making more costumes, weapons, mini-stories for characters etc only this time it won't be free.

If they do it, I'll purchase their next season pass. Until then, I'll be fine with the main game only. But I doubt they will.

Just don't, if the plot doesn't need a female main character then there is no reason to force one in. Did people complain there was no dlc pack to add a male playable character in X-2?

I want one where Noctis goes to a beauty salon and you play a hairdresser who styles his pretty hair. Could be a really fun mini game.

Since the guys each get an episode, I wouldn't mind an Episode Luna. Especially since it seems like she'll be separated from Noctis for most of the game.

I could see them just reusing the same assets and make a sequel or expansion with another female character.

Hopefully it won't be waifu/otaku bait whatever it's called characterization though.

But it's DLC? Downloadable content has no effect on the main story of the game in any way? What are you talking about?

They might as well use Lightning at this point, I'm sure people would appreciate the joke.

Luna probably dies in the main game

LOL at everybody pretty much picking Lightning in that poll. In all seriousness more than likely if they are going to pick anyone as a playable female DLC character it is going to be Luna with my second bet being Iris.

Hopefully they give Lightning a new Roen-designed outfit to fit in with the rest of the cast - she modelled menswear for the Prada collaboration, so it wouldn't be without precedent for her brand.

I like how you left out their version of Noctis - it was by far the weakest edit.
