Robinson the Journey. A stunning PSVR game.

Best Buy isn't showing it available for pickup until the 11th at any local stores or any not-so local ones either, so people saying theirs has it for sale is perplexing to me. I might have to drop in to my local store on my way home, maybe their website is just plain wrong.

I think most of the people getting it from Best Buy ordered online.

Yes, I own a PSVR and a bunch of games.

Great. You'll know that some games can looks pretty sharp considering the hardware. Folks are saying it looks as good as Batman. I would not say that Batman is soft.

I'm really curious to see how the game turns out, it's a shame about how low the resolution is. It'd look great on a 4K screen.

Also, I'm not surprised at how downgraded it is from the E3 trailers, I can't believe people were taking those at face value.

Hyped for it, but won't buy for 60€ with that length sorry. Will wait for 40-45€.

Screens and videos looked very nice though. :)

PS4 Pro should fix the resolution issue, at least.

£55 for a 4-5 hour game? They can get fucked.
Gutted as I've been looking forward to this one but I wont support this price gouging.

How come we don't have reviews on this?

Also, yeah, I usually like short games, but full price for 3-5 hours is ridiculous.

Indeed, but knowing me, I'll wait to play it when the Vive gets a 4K headset.

When a game usually puts its graphics at the forefront, I try to wait until I can play it fully realized. Of course I'm just going by my limited knowledge of the game, if it's heavily gameplay based I could see myself playing it earlier.

Just seems odd that the character holds a Move shaped device but there's no move support. Seeing as how this is an adventure game, Locomotion could solved by warping or something like that- precise, quick movements would be unnecessary.

Eagerly awaiting reviews.

Full price for a 3-5 hours video game isn't great but on the other hand 3-5 hours being totally immersed in VR on an alien planet with robots and dinosaurs is an entirely different prospect relative to value.

I'd personally take analogue locomotion over the move controller every single time, even more so if it has dual analogue controls. There needs to be a hardware revision to the move that allows for dual analogue, even if it is just something you slip the exiting moves into.

Not for me, but (1) I don't have VR yet, and (2) everyone needs to make their own value judgments.

The pricing on VR stuff does seem really off to me in a lot of cases though.

I saw it was £64.99 on PSN today, incredibly steep! If it gets great reviews I might buy it.

Better off buying from a Canadian PSN account for us UK fellas works out cheaper, buy the discounted psn topup cards for these places from pcgamesupply online retailer

This is a full priced game? Wow. I think the market will react accordingly.

Gotta capitalize on enthusiast excitement, especially when the PSVR installed base isnt that large.

Even for a short experimental experience, I imagine a lot of work went into crafting it, and that proceeds would be justification for exploring more VR possibilities in the future.

Linear games dont bother me one bit in VR. Its a brand new world when youre inside it compared to regular games.

Batman for example was awesome. Probably the most linear ps4 game ive ever played.

Is a PS4 Pro mode confirmed for this title (or is it already mandatory)?

If yes, do we know what will be improved?

Publishers gotta chill out with full price($60) msrp for neat little experiences. I get that they're trying to capitalize on the initial excitement of a new medium, but don't cannibalize your own potential sales for it.

hopefully you get a gun so you can shoot the dinosaurs!!

or bow.

Dude I swear I saw a gun peripheral for this game that utilizes the move controls, but can't find anything about it lol.

Its 40$ on Amazon, 34.39$ with Amazon discount

They can always start high, the drop the price as they go. It's not like the market is so flooded with content that a one of the better experiences would be forgotten before it had a price drop.

You're probably thinking of farpoint and it's new gun controller. It doesn't use moves though, it's and entirely stand alone controller.

Do you mean the gun controller that is releasing at the same time with Farpoint (game)?

Daaamn yea I'm such a stoner. Yup it's farpoint, can't believe I mixed em up lol. Actually I thought they we're the same game.

Well that's good news, another game I can pre order now lol thanks guys.

Whelp, it cost me $32 on Amazon, so I just pre-ordered it. If the reviews are terrible, it goes back.

But, if it's four hours of Batman-quality VR gaming then I'm in with bells on.

After EVE I'm never blindly buying a 60-euro VR game again.

I don't care how amazing it looks, 4 hours is insane.

I got good feeling about this. Hope it comes to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift soon

Sliding locomotion standards have already been established on Vive. You simply point the remote in the direction you want to move, and squeeze the trigger- softly to walk, or all the way in to run. The nice thing is you can point and move in one direction while looking in another.

It's just that Move can't track in 360, so you would need something like snap turning or bounding box turning.

urgh, I want to support the VR devs by buying games, but that is far too much money for me, will wait for it to drop.

EDIT seems it's less than 4hrs according to a post on reddit.

"Just completed the game took 3 hours 26 minutes to complete from start to finish. Not very long for $40. Overall I think I would give the game a 7/10 . Any questions now since my post last night?"

Would be more stunning if it supported the PS Move controllers at launch.

I'm not playing that with a controller.

:\

LOL, I was about to say that it is so cool that the tool also looks like a Move and now I am reading the game is not supporting it at launch.

It's cheaper here in Canada on Amazon.. at least I think it will be so I grabbed it.

With the physical disc, I can also lend it to my friends as well. I'm hyped. I don't think you can measure VR experiences in just hours. See the Batman VR opinions.

Looks awesome. Thankfully length has no impact on my enjoyment of a game. If it's good I don't care how long it is, even for £40. Batman VR is an hour long and £15 and my enjoyment of it made it very much worth that price, if not more.

Can't afford it day one but my birthday is literally a few days after, so I'll buy it then, no matter what reviews say
